Exactly!!! I was so sure she was going to blow up, her style was so hot and her voice!!
Exactly!!! I was so sure she was going to blow up, her style was so hot and her voice!!
The best R&B artists never make it huge sadly. Deborah Cox, Monica, and Brandy are standouts I can think of. I call Nicole Wray Bettie Boop lol.
I still listen to "Make It Hot" "I Can't See" & "I Wanna Kiss You" heavily!! 🔥🔥🔥
Make it hot is my favorite!!!! I still listen to I’m lookin as well
Always on my mastermix
I like " eyes better not wander"
I Can't See is definitely underrated.
Yes!! Also "Eyes Better Not Wander" and "Raise Your Frown", Static Major really did his thing writing those! You can hear his influence profoundly in those songs, much like Aaliyah's latter projects and Ginuwine's earlier hits.
Everybody:
BET: Finally gives us what we been asking for 😏
Right😅 that's exactly what it feels like.
Absolutely 🙌🏿🙌🏿
Yes. We also been asking for Lil Zane too. Just saying lol
Yez
@@nlee4566 he's coming too ;) #JustWaitOnIt
I've always loved Nicole Wray she's from my city and went to Booker T Washington High and her picture was in the chorus ensemble in our chorus room. I loved the fact that she made it out of Virginia and became something great. Her voice is just so timeless!!!
Cra'Shetta Thomas-Holloman Yep....I went there too. She graduated two years before me and she was voted most likely to succeed.
It's crazy because she and her sister actually lived in Portsmouth and drove to Norfolk to go to Booker T.
@@getitboont wow are you serious that's crazy I didn't no that I wonder why they just didn't go to a school in P Town
@@getitboont omggggg you went to the T to that's what's up!!!
Cra'Shetta Thomas-Holloman I don't think they wanted to go to high school out there
I wish Static and Aaliyah were still alive 🥺
Crazy! I just finished listening to Cheers 2 U
If aaliyah was alive, beyonce would still be the lead singer of destinys child
@@letyouryesbeyesandnobeno1791 why not? Aaliyah was a solo singer and Beyonce was in a group and it's different .
we need to stop put another women down just to put another up ... That's not cool... I love Aaliyah more than Beyoncé but i can not denied that Beyoncé worked hard for be what she is now.
@@LilithsCosmicLounge who knows. Its room for plenty of Queens' to be great. Kings' as well. We let those narratives from certain power entities hold us back. It's a messed up cycle but when we use our 3rd eye, we can fully manifest our great together. Js🤷🏿♂️😁
Her stylist was dope af! Her looks back then were bomb 😍😍😍😍Aside from the music of course.
I loved her style too!
Such a pretty lady. I had no idea she was so young when she was recording.
This needed to happen! These episodes are dope as hell... hearing the history behind it all that music is simply amazing
Truly amazing! Stay tuned for the other features we have coming!
I thought she was the cutest back then. I was like WHERE DOES TIMBALAND FIND ALL OF THESE BEAUTIFUL, CHOCOLATE, TALENTED WOMEN?!?

What was she like in high school?
@@darkskyparadise1384 quiet, pretty, popular. Everybody knew about her being with missy Elliott. I never talked to her because I had a crush and you kinda know how that goes... my boy jay and her had photography class together and they were cool.
757 🙌🏾🙏🏾 I remember being a kid in Norfolk and everybody in the city saying they were her cousin! Lol loved this video 😍😍
@@TerriArcelia Lol you know black people love to pull the "cousin" card.
"All n' my Grill" One of my favorite songs ever. Glad to see she didn't bleach her skin. She has such beautiful skin.
That "Make it Hot" is still on rotation... this era of music thoroughly inspired my own music. This is why musicians like Missy Elliott are needed 🙏🏽
I always like her since her big hit song make it hot. She such a underrated artist.
She really is. Her voice is super unique
Totally!!!
That was my jam!
Eyes better not WONDER.. is a CLASSIC!! I’m still listening in 2019

Nicole Wray was my favorite singer and I still bumped Make It Hot and If I Was Ur Girlfriend till that day.
Jacarrius Nailer me too hunny. I’m glad they come with this i was wondering about her
Let me guess, you're gay and from Atlanta. You name is so stereotypically black gay and Atlanta lol
How she your fav when she a one hit wonder? 😂
@@bnwo just because a person se on only has one hit doesnt mean they dont have any other songs
Nicole Wray is my auntie
She is gorgeous and has a beautiful voice.
So glad this popped up on my feed, I always thought where is she and I’ve been listening to her for the last two weeks.
I agree! It was very refreshing!
Let’s hear it for Dame Dash being a real one and reaching back to grab her. Keeping his people working no matter what it is bro.
Edit: I just like that she kept it real and gave OG his flowers while he is here, cause the rappers be acting too cocky to say Dame changed they life.
A lot of people don't realize that about Dame Dash. He always have been one to help other black people. That's a fact.
He always gets the hate, but as time reveals everything that went on behind the scenes, he is proving to be true way more often than not.
Msboochie2 Rite, we can even look at his Dash TV and can tell I hope to see her on there with an interview and then talking .
"If I Was Your Girlfriend" will be my jam eternally.
I actually love this whole beat!❤️🧡💗
It's crazy how youthful her singing voice has stayed.
