Dawn should go to TED talk and talk about how hard it is to make it as a dark skin female in the industry and all the things she has experienced. Very wise woman.
I was literally just thinking about how Aubrey’s snappy attitude would NOT have worked if she was a black woman. obviously it got her kicked out the group eventually but Diddy put up with it way longer than he would’ve if she was a black woman.
goldmineken yes. If dawn or d woods dared to ever speak to him like that all hell would’ve broke loose. Aubrey got away with so much just cuz she was white. She was mediocre and basic af.
Just came from the Empressive Channel, wow just wow! Checking out all of her new stuff now ! Where have I been? Damn you music industry for hiding her!
The levels of in depth transparency makes this interview next level like a Dirty Money record. Dawn looks so fresh and glowing. Real shame about both groups. Danity Kane was meant to be that transitional international big girl group and Puff missed it. In many ways I was glad Aubrey was so outspoken in favour of the group to Puff because although she got wild at times she also knew what the group supposed to be, and Puff missed the vision. Her key flaw was no tunnel vision getting sidetracked on celebrity hunger. Dawn is special because she gets the industry, so the mentality of nobody owes me anything (even if they did) keeps the drive in music alive. Kudos Dawn ❤️💐💐
Aubrey was the Geri Halliwell... and dawn was the Mel B together as the vocal group members with the support of the other girls they could've really turned it
This is definitely the best interview Dawn has ever done yet! She is a true artist, innovator and visionary. Her interviews deserve to be handled as such. Ask the real questions, get the real story 💯
Dawn's story is brave, incredible and most importantly over the years has always been consistent. This interview filled in a lot of lil gaps throughout and it was so great to hear. Much love & respect to the hosts & Dawn for her openness. 💖
I've watched Dawn from her start on MTV and followed her through her career. I could say a lot here, but if I could tell her one thing it's that I feel the same way about Last Train To Paris. I still listen to it every couple months, same as Danity Kane and anything Dawn's done... including NPR. I could listen to her talk or sing or dance the entire day long. The only thing missing is Aundrea.
Saucey Sinister These are my same exact thoughts. I can’t help but think about how awesome her skin looks. I think that maybe because of her vegan diet. Dairy is problematic to a lot of people and their skin.
I've watched many interviews w her before. Her look, not wearing sunglasses in the interview, being calm, authentic & articulate, made her truth & perspective easier to hear & digest. Proud of you Dawn! Keep it going ( :
She is the reason I was able to get through some of my toughest times in life. Her music really helped pull me out of dark places and I just appreciate her for not giving up and sharing her music and art work.
Carlton Collins same here. I went through a phase of being homeless and losing a job and her music kept me going. I wish to meet her one day and tell her thank you for being there when no one else was.
This is one of the best artist interviews I've ever seen in my life. Like, even if I didn't love her or know who she was. I love these stories. She should write a book. Her latest album is amazing btw
I loved the way Dawn broke down these stories and was straight forward. I just wish the guy in the black hoodie would stop cutting her off and being so loud every time she’s just getting to the good parts.
Get over it people are a lot to interact and that’s what he’s doing interacting with her and when you talk to somebody they do interact with you it’s funny how you complain about an interview but they do interact less homework what is doing is funny they wouldn’t actually interrupt a person yes he’s actually now he’s actually more Interacting with her but whatever
Dawn need a biopic !!!! The way she tell stories is incredible. This interview is litteraly the most raw she as been in here element I feel so encouraged I feel like I can’t be stopped I feel like it’s OK to fail, because at the end of that I will find self success !!
Blackheart DID IT for me, I was sold after I bought the album off iTunes and listened to it!! I went from Fan to FULL ON STAN!!! after that I could not just “stream” her records I had to buy them
Ms Dawn was and is always my favorite artist even from her DK days she’s a true icon in my opinion a real artist ahead of the trend and she’s not waiting on anyone to catch up she sets the trend
Been following Dawn since she first popped up on mtb. Man does this human deserve hella more credit than what she's given. Love her and will always love her with her body of work to pieces. Walking inspiration, periodt. ❤!!!!!!!
I would love to see a biopic of her story... Like, her going through Katrina doing Making the Band... That whole deal with Puff... I really would love to see it written out -- I've loved her since the beginning of learning who she is

Wow watching this for the first time in 2024 and Dawn predicted what’s happening with Afrobeats and the country movement that is happening right now. Very great interview!
This is the level of an interview that She expected from The Breakfast Club and they were only interested in gossip slop.... I remember her asking them about it...
Wow!! Go Dawn!!! I love that she honers her authentic self. No matter what, who listened, who came, who left; She stayed true to who she is intrinsically. So much respect for her! Wow!
Been watching and listening to her for years, and this is the first time it seems she really felt super comfortable allowing her Nola accet to flow free!
What an incredible interview. Dawn is a shining star that is unmatched in this world. Her body is work is so beautiful, ever evolving, fully revolutionary, and masterful.
I am just coming back to know that Dawn is still doing her thing. My favorite song(s) by her are Titans and James Dean. I am so proud of you black girl. Keep doing this for us other black girls that are looking at you!!
Sooooo happy a friend sent me this interview. Always love Dawn, mainly because of her strong Brandy influences but now I admire her for so much more. Thank U for using Ur platform to give us such greatness that feeds. 🙌🏾❤️💯
by reading the comments they left a positive impact on most ppl. The Dirty Money era is nostalgic because it was unexpected but very much needed. Songs like Im Coming Home and Ass On The Floor etc. Kind of remember it like it was yesterday. That’s the BET 106 and Park days where we got a chance to see visuals with the music. Dawn Richards was fine asf too and thick back then
Dawn really is incredible as an artist. I appreciate her so much, always have. Her work and dedication is so phenomenal and inspiring. I need that VR boo,
I took my daughter to meet Danity Kane at Nordstrom in Bellevue, Washington. All the girls were so nice to my daughter and Shannon made her feel beautiful. We looked forward to them coming in concert but it never happened.
Good evening, how are y'all doing on this beautiful night? I've learned so much from Dawn. I love how Dawn stood out and told the truth about the situation. The group Dantiy Kane could have been bigger what they are. Puffy created the monster.
Great interview. I understand wanting & yearning to be apart of a Group but you still gotta go out on your own. I also, understand some people in positions of power lack direction. Most importantly, I'm HAPPY she took charge of her career 👌🏾
Damn... Have to say it again. In 2021, Dirty Money is still played in my car. I do wish that P.Diddy made a second album of Dirty Money. I have to say... I also have to say that Dawn is one heck of an attract woman both inside and outside.
Literally the best interview she’s ever done. I could listen to her tell her story all daaaayyyy.
Agreed !
stylishjoy 💯
Facts ...she so slept on its just ridiculous
stylishjoy right? She and LeToya Luckett tell the best stories...
Yyyaaaasssss!!!! ALL DAMN DAY. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
She was always ahead and a loyal one.
Always and still is. Crazy !
A TRUE Leo!!! 💕👑
First time hearing her full story. Easily one of the best interviews she’s done.
Dawn should go to TED talk and talk about how hard it is to make it as a dark skin female in the industry and all the things she has experienced. Very wise woman.
LOUI J
Yea and as an independent artist
Maybe As a black woman in general because she isn’t dark skin..
Shay Belle’ she is dark skin, dark skin isn’t one shade
I think that’s opinions...i consider myself dark skinned but my husband swears I’m not so
MzMahoganyHoneyBrown I’m aware that dark skin is depicted in multiple shades, but I’m also aware that she isn’t one of them.
I was literally just thinking about how Aubrey’s snappy attitude would NOT have worked if she was a black woman. obviously it got her kicked out the group eventually but Diddy put up with it way longer than he would’ve if she was a black woman.

This didnt age well 😳

empressive did them grimey. had to thumbs down that vid. left out some of the most important things. makes no sense.
Check out her new album Second Line it's great.
SHE FINALLY SAID SHE’S an alto/tenor!!!
Γαh she definitely is too, Dawn has a unique voice
MICO never truly heard it

Great synopsis
Diddy fumbled tf out that bag
Aubrey was the Geri Halliwell... and dawn was the Mel B together as the vocal group members with the support of the other girls they could've really turned it
😢
Best DAWN interview. And I’ve watched EVERY SINGLE ONE.
Adam Devereaux same. I totally agree
You and me both. Trust me. This is the best one hands down.
@@TheJustinGreen I agree , she actually went into detail here for the first time . The most honest I’ve heard to be .
I’ve never heard her tell her entire story at once. This was great

Danity Kane really could of been one of the biggest girl group
Actual & Factual
Facts!!! First girl group in history to have both albums debut at #1 says something, I still have both playing to this day
Could have had a legacy….
I am upset all over again. So much wasted potential

She was soooo right about Dirty Money. I was too hurt when that group dissolved. Last Train to Paris STILL bangs in 2020!
Brian Golden , that I’m coming home lol .. that was unexpected but needed music
Karma is what caused the album and group to flop. Karma for how he treated DK. The group was built on deceit.
I love when Dawn really broke down the tension in Danity Kane 32:01 with the competition and different walks of life
What I like about this, Dawn is operating in her Leo! She is a phenomenal artist! I been following since the beginning, she is on another astral plane
This is one of the best artist interviews I've ever seen in my life. Like, even if I didn't love her or know who she was. I love these stories. She should write a book. Her latest album is amazing btw
