Hi Caleb, Just for your information, when dealing with a high dynamic range scene, you should protect the highlights over the shadows. In other words, if some traffic lights in the Komodo (or any Red camera for that matter) must be on, it's better to clip in the shadows and not the highlights (unless you intend to clip the sky, for example), because with some noise reduction, you can recover more from the shadows than you would have expected, but clipped highlights in the Red code Raw r3d file are permanently gone.
@@calebbrunkow The R5 for me and an R6 soon for more sports photography. I put in my order last month for the RED and I'm hoping the Komodo will be here in October.
Hey man. Hope you're still enjoying your Komodo. Quick one, make sure that SDI cable is a 12G one, looks like a 3G one to me, maybe wrong though - but just thought I'd comment just in case. All the best!
This was very informative and also just nice to watch. So, thank you! Those images are typically Red: silky smooth and film like. Even the Scarlet MX produces wonderful images. BTW if you must have music in these videos, can you not make it so obnoxious? Up to you of course but I found it objectionable.
So far it has been an amazing experience, I’ve only used it a couple of times but loving every second of it. Currently working on finalizing how my rig is setup
Beautiful footage man I'm happy for you to finally have it!
Appreciate it bro! Much more content coming from this thing
@@calebbrunkow Awesome I can't wait to see it!!🙌🏽

Good to know! Thank you so much for the heads up, this is my first RED camera so it’s a learning process for me
HYPED FOR YOU!!!
Thanks bro! You gotta mess with it
Mines arriving in a few weeks! Can’t wait!
That’s awesome! Can’t wait to see what you create with it
Glad you finally got it man!
Thanks bro!
Just got mine today!! i totally get the excitement :D
So cool!
NEXT LEVEL 🔥❤
ugh, I can't wait for mine
I know the struggle! Just hang in there!
@@calebbrunkow sigh...drop that rig breakdown video to torture me even more LOL!
Perfect video, be sure to make more videos about Red Komodo.
Appreciate it! More videos to come!
I'm still stuck on the shirt change. I am not convinced that time had past. I need prove, dammit I need proof. LOL (Great video btw)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey, I really like your content, can you make a more extended video about Red? And rd cameras are cannon lenses used right out of the box?
I’ll definitely be making a more in depth video on the RED once I’ve used it more
You and I seem to go for the same gear:) R5/6, BMPCC 6KPro, and now Komodo
Great minds think alike! I’ve got two R6’s though and not an R5

That’d be a great turn around time for the Komodo, they’ve been so backed up
@@calebbrunkow they told me 10 weeks so fingers crossed
They told me 15 and it was 24 haha

Really appreciate the heads up! It may be a 3g cable, I tried searching for 12g ones and not much came up, do you have any links?

What was your experience with Red Komodo?🎊🎊
i also want to take.😊

This is exactly the kind of video that makes me want to avoid the Komodo.
great stuff. May I ask if it can do 6k 48p? I read that it can do 50 fps at 6K 2.4:1, but I was wondering if 48p was an option too
Every other 6k mode only goes up to 40fps unfortunately
@@calebbrunkow ah, so its not like 48fps at 6k 2.4.1 is an option. k cool. thank you
@@nariza7 the 5k is a fairly mild crop and gets you 48fps.
