Hi, I'm planning to get into filmmaking. RED always intrigued me, but couldn't afford the ecosystem. Now things have changed with the Kommodo. Would you recommend the Kommodo as a proper A cam?
Planning on shooting music videos, interviews, short films.

hope the retail version can have carbon fiber or more metal looking body, the sehll for this one seems kind cheap like a toy, maybe due to the bad paint job. the pattern and letter printed on the body is definantly at very low quality. that's for sure. But it's pre pruduction model, so maybe they only made sure inside works fine.

Thanks for sharing Tim. I'd love to know if image stabilised lenses work with Komodo. The DSMC2s unfortunately don't support the non-canon EF lenses I've tested. For instance the IS on the Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 and the Tokina 24-70 f/2.8 don't work on DSMC2. That means you're stuck with lower quality of slower Canon IS options like the 24-105 f4. Komodo matched with a nice fast IS lens would be a great combo for handheld docu-style work.

Craig Melville in my experience IS on lenses just vibrate on video and don’t look good. Avoid.
