Catherine, thank you for the kind words. This video exploded and I am truly humbled and extremely grateful for the support of sooo many new followers. Facebook: facebook.com/sunshineandrosebugs/ Instagram: instagram.com/sunshineandrosebugs/
This is one of the best resin tutorials i’ve seen yet. So informative and straight to the point, while giving crucial information in an easily digestible and relatable way. Much appreciated. And the end result is absolutely stunning!
I don’t usually comment (I’m more of a UA-cam lurker, haha) but I have to say these are truly stunning! The colors are gorgeous. You make the whole process look so easy. I have all my supplies ready (minus the molds which I’m about to order) to go but I’ve been anxious to actually take the leap and do it. A lot of videos make the whole process look very complicated and challenging but yours was so user-friendly and inspiring. Thanks for the motivation/ insight. I look forward to seeing more of your lovely creations. Keep up the great work!
I am binge watching these videos because I ordered this mold and you are legit the first video I watched that actually mentioned measurements. And such good explanation. I would really love to see you make more of these. Beautiful! TFS!
Btw I would never guess this was your first tutorial. Everything was great! Also I think I heard you say you used acrylic paint? Did I miss how much for each color in those medicine cups? I don’t want to risk the chance of it not curing bc resin is so pricey. And what did you use for gold? Sorry for all the questions, I’m gonna watch it for the 3rd time and see if I missed it? No joke I’ve watched at least 25 videos of this same mold and yours was by far the most informative. And stunning piece💜
Lovely. Thanks for the video. This is the only video I’ve found so far using this mold. I have it and will be doing my first set of coasters soon. Wish me luck.
Hi I’ve looked at so many coasters videos so far yours is the best one yet quick but you explain it clear. I was looking for one in blues and yours was breathe taking and beautiful. Wish me luck I’m new at this but going to try this one. Love love ❤️❤️❤️❤️ it . Thank you so much
You are so welcome. You would need to finish the pen off with a top coat... video coming in a week or two. Facebook: facebook.com/sunshineandrosebugs/ Instagram: instagram.com/sunshineandrosebugs/
This is VERY PRETTY!!! 😊💕 Those colors are just beautiful. You did a nice job explaining everything! Thanks for sharing........ I’m like the last lady, BEST TUTORIAL that I’ve seen on them 👍
Those are absolutely stunning! Great tip for the wet sanding! I subscribed but you haven't had any videos for 2 months hope you have lots more resin to come my fav. Thanks for sharing p.s. wow if you ask me you did excellent videoing show me close up explaining just everything seem like a pro to me! 😆
I just finished watching. No more excuses on how imperfect your tutorials may be. This was perfection!! Thank you so much! I’m motivated to try this now. 💕
this is sooo stunning ! so so so beautiful ! I don't have pearl powders but I do have lots of glitter and paste pigments. I'm definitely going to try to make this.
Damn..!!! the coasters are superrrr amazing... Ur tutorial really helped.. i have tried making coasters with freehand mould of silicone but didnt work,, silicon mould it is then..!! Thank you very much .. looking forward to more tips n tricks and designs of resin art... cheers!!
Beautiful! Another process i have seen is adding purple and dark blue color to epsum salt and rock salt instead of the glitter! I like your mold too! And all the gold is fancy!
Sunshine & Rosebugs i am gonna try making a ruff concrete bowl outta quick mix and do this method. Will be awhile before I can because I-am handicapped. But think it wud really be authentic looking. Or even a concrete edged table top
These look beautiful. I have Polycrylic, some reviews said the gold can scratch off even if it's sealed with Polycrylic...but I'm going to give it a try along with some other food safe varnish. It'll be good to compare effectiveness of both products. I love how easy Polycrylic is to use - it's a great product x
Just beautiful! The only question I have is how did you fix the divet or the hole that was in one of them? You said you would show how to fix it, but I didn't see it. Would you just go back and flood coat it to fix it? I was also impressed by how steady your hand was at free handing the gold metallic pen down the sides. You did a excellent job. I think this pen wears off, so I'm going to flood coat mine, but that is just because I'm giving them as gifts and don't want the metallic paint wear off. I wish I could do it down the sides on the fronts like you did but I will just have to do the straight edges and the tops. THANK YOU. I subscribed and gave a thumbs UP!
Luv 2 Craft, I will be doing the follow up video within the next few weeks. I had a bit of life happen with a chronic illness, went back to grad school and am still working a full time job. But I promise to show you how to fix them with the flood top coat as you mentioned. Facebook: facebook.com/sunshineandrosebugs/ Instagram: instagram.com/sunshineandrosebugs/
Where did you get your materials? Perhaps putting a link to them under the title of your project? Beautiful coasters!! Colour makes a big difference when making these geods. Thank you! 😊
Beautiful!! You mentioned you used 6 30ml cups for this full set... so 6 total or 12..? Since is part a and b... for the last clear coat, how much did you use? Also regular acrylic paint was used?.. lovely set!
Stephanie, most resin or epoxy is essentially about the same. I would be careful and make sure to use your personal protective equipment, like a face mask for any resin. I use Counter Culture Artist Resin/Epoxy and it is mixed 1 part resin to 1 part hardener. Most resins mix similiarly you just have to mix per the brands directions. Curing time can be different for different brands.
So do you pour the clear resin to top it off after they dry for the 4-5 hours or while it is wet? And then let it dry completely for the 4-5 hours and pop it out?
yes, clear resin in the mold on top after they have had 4 to 5 hours to set up.and then let dry for 5 to 8 hours... whenever you can tell they are really set up enough to remove.
This one came from AliExpress but there are a ton of other vendors across Etsy and even Amazon. I ordered from Ali because no one had them in stock and they were like $3... so you order several ... it took mine about 3 weeks to arrive.
Very beautiful, where did u buy that gold pen from?
Thanks! Hobby Lobby .
This is about the best grid coaster resin method tutorials. Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Wow, thank you!

Beautiful!! You mentioned you used 6 30ml cups for this full set... so 6 total or 12..? Since is part a and b... for the last clear coat, how much did you use? Also regular acrylic paint was used?.. lovely set!
WOW
Can you please post the colors and the names of the products you used? They're really beautiful! Thank you!
I will go back through my colors this weekend and get names and brands etc and post for you...
Did you make your green pendent 🤔? Looks like it and its gorgeous 😍
Can you tell how much resin you need for this project. They are beautiful.
5 to 6, 30ml medicine cups is what I usually use depending on what additives I put in.
So on this set you used acrylic paints mixed with resin?
sorry for the late reply, but yes acrylic paints for this set. :-)
Thank you so much for sharing! What polycrylic do you use?
I use the clear gloss water based polycrylic by minwax... it has a teal label
Make sure you get gloss! I accidentally got the satin last time and kinda kills the look! 😂
Is it heat resistant then on then coasters?
Beautiful! Your gold trim lines are really straight! Did you perhaps tape them off to get such a crisp line or was it all done freehand?
All freehand... 😜
Helpful video! May I also know what pigment did you use for the gold resin "accents" (not the glittery one)? Is it metallic mica? thanks
Cherry, I used testor model car paint... just a drop or so in my resin to make the shimmery gold in the coasters.
They are so very beautiful, could you please share what colors all of these are?
These are so beautiful! You mentioned you used polycrylic to seal the gold edges. Do you just brush it on?
Yes ma'am I just use a liner brush or an angled brush and brush a thin coat over wherever I have the leafing pen.
Perfeito!
Hi. I like the gold you are using. Is it a gold pigment mixed with resin or how/what are you using to drizzle the gold? Very pretty.
very nice! where did get the mold from?
ALiExpress :-) lthough there are a number of places to buy from online that are not international... I think ven Amazon had them at one point.
please show me the resign you use. How much time do you have to add your mixed resin? Does acrylic work as well as alcohol inks ?
Hi, can I use any type of Expoxy Resin? I am unsure what the difference is between them, would that affect the curing time?
Stephanie, most resin or epoxy is essentially about the same. I would be careful and make sure to use your personal protective equipment, like a face mask for any resin. yes, clear resin in the mold on top after they have had 4 to 5 hours to set up.and then let dry for 5 to 8 hours... whenever you can tell they are really set up enough to remove.
Hi! Thank you for sharing. Where did you get your glitters? It turned out so pretty!
These are just glitters from Michael's and Walmart.
You did a great video and I learned a lot so thank you. Can I ask you where you got your mold from?
This one came from AliExpress but there are a ton of other vendors across Etsy and even Amazon. I ordered from Ali because no one had them in stock and they were like $3... so you order several ... it took mine about 3 weeks to arrive.
What was the liquid gold you drizzled over, great results
Kristine, I used Testor model car paint mixed in with my resin... a little of that paint goes a LONG way so a drop or two only...
