Those are the most authentic geodes I've ever seen made by an artist on here...….I have a real one that looks almost like those...thank you so much for your demo!
These are so pretty. I LOVE geodes, and now that we can artificially make them, I am going to be in my glory. Thank you so much for sharing. Thumbs UP!
@@DryerDaysArTsTuDiO I bought them from you and got them yesterday. I purchased the round ones. I left a comment on the top. Today is the Feb 26th and I'm going to start on mine tonight. I just hope mine come out as beautiful as yours. This video is exactly what I wanted to see so I could see how much mica you put in the resin and the glitter too. Thank you again. Next month I will probably buy these molds. We're right in the middle of moving but these don't take up that much room and I need a break from packing, sorting, giving away and selling. A girl just needs to do her crafting when she needs to. Even if that girl is in her 60's! lol
I bought the round ones from either you or Laura and received them already! LOVE them! So big my husband will be able to put his Beer mug on it or our gigantic coffee cups we barely use because we don't have coasters big enough. These are. They will be pretty if I ever get some made. I ordered some other "sand paste" that I'm going to mix with the silver and gold Viva Structure Paste and see if it holds up. I will try it out first on a cheap mold, not these nice ones. We'll see.
I hope you like this video. These were so fun to make and I can't wait to make more!!! Please Subscribe and check out the video description for all tools used, product links and other videos
Absolutely stunning, I love love love them. I'm so sorry I missed your live. I am 3 hrs ahead and was stuck at my least favorite place the grocery store 😨😨😨 hopefully I can make your next live. These are just so fabulous, I love them and I love how Laura's turned out too 😍😍😍
Wow Katharine, those turned out amazing. I knew you would love it. 🤗🤗🤗 the Structure Paste is the bomb and the crackle too, overall, the Viva line, I love everything I have in the shop. 😘
Stunning geode coasters and great tutorial, as always. 🤩 You are an amazing artist and teacher. 🤗 Sorry I didnt get to hang around for the whole live. My hair stylist was throwing a fit because I had resin in my hair. 😂 We will just let her keep thinking that was the first and last time it has happened.
These are beautiful! I’m want to order all the stuff I need but I’m not sure what I need or where to order and this video helped so much. I might order the e-book! Thanks so much

I really love TotalBoat resin!! And you can use my code dryerday1 with them for 15% off your first purchase! I recommend their countertop epoxy for more heat resistance. www.totalboat.com/product/tabletop-epoxy/
Hello! I’m brand new to this and binging ALL the videos lol. When you say flood coat, I understand you mean just filling it up. But the very few coasters I’ve made I’ve noticed if you pour clear in the center it pushes everything out and makes your outside lines less visible. If you like your design just the way it is, I know the finished piece never looks the same, but to get as close as possible would you wait awhile and then still pour from the center or where would you pour the clear? Thanks in advance if you wouldn’t mind answering. Much love from KY♥️
I don't do the flood coat until the first layer is hard. It can dull lines added, but not as much as it might look when wet. I find my metallic lines still shimmer and reflect light under a flood coat. The flood coat is to help protect those lines or edges drawn on from scuffing off. I hope that helps. I wait about 48 -72 hours before doing a flood coat
Those look amazing. Thanks for the tips. Does applying heat to resin just provide a chemical reaction for an effect or should I be doing that with all my resin work? I'm still new with this
Katherine, Please HELP ME! Please read the entire message. TY. I bought 4 round molds from you, which I LOVE the size of and then 2 jars of the Viva Artline Facetten-Lack in Silver. My Structure paste was more toward the liquid side, NOT like you have in your video, where it shows it has some consistency to it. I washed and dried the molds. I dried them well for 6 hrs and and then put the Viva stuff around them like you showed. HOWEVER it was bright silver and didn't look anything at all like was what was is in the video. In the video you say it is GOLD and then say Silver. IT looks like it is Dried Cement with some Silver in after it is dried. SO I'm lost for sure. I had put the mold on a large bread board so they didn't move but once I picked it up and put it on my covered table to start mixing the RESIN I noticed it cracked so bad it had started to fall out of the grooves into the mold. SO I picked up the mold and all the VIVA stuff fell apart. None of it held together, so before I did the same with the others I noticed big cracks in the VIVA stuff and big cracks in all of them. I make it thick enough. I ended up trashing all 4 . SO WHAT did I do wrong? Also can I mix MICA into the RESIN to color it instead of anything else? Or do I have to use a special coloring agent for Epoxy or Resin? I have enough glitters but there are some other things I do want to buy in your store. Unfort I'm disabled and get paid 1 time a month. I have to stretch my Craft budget so I want to buy what I have to , so I can make some of these beautiful coasters. I bought Epoxy and Hardener. Can you or anyone PLEASE HELP ME? Please! Thank you. PS. I bought the ECO ART silicone cups, etc...and forgot to use the discount but that is OK. I CAN'T wait to get them! TY
It sounds like the viva may have been old? Where did you get it? The one I used was a sand silver, so it was a more cement look. Make sure you bought structure paste and not crackle paste. Viva has both of those as products, and the crackle will not act the same as structure paste in your molds. You can use micas. I also sell some micas. I prefer mica powders and epoxy pastes. I have artisan pigments also listed in my amazon store and they are pretty cost-effective. Here those are: amzn.to/2TtS388
Hi there, I love your coasters there are beyond amazing. I was wondering if you put anything on either the bottom or the top for backing so when it sits on a surface it doesn’t scratch it or anything?
You can! I have used cork and clear bumpers. Totally up to you. Depending on your resin, they shouldn't scratch too much as long as they are fully cured before use
It's by Viva Decor, I'll post the link for you, however the Sand-Silver color she uses in this video seem to be out everywhere. I really like that color too. They have others, but if you're going with her color-scheme that color really would look the best. www.viva-decor.com/en/paints/paints-for-artist/structure-effect/165/artline-structure-paste-250-ml-4-colors?number=117110150
Hi! Just watched your video! Awesome! I have a question- how much glitter do you use when you mix it in the resin? I did one yesterday and today when I demolded, I could not see the white glitter at all! I mixed it with a white liquid pigment. Did I not use enough glitter for the amount of resin? Thanks! (I’m very new at this craft!)
I am in love too❣️ I'd really like to use the silver mirrored glass? but I can't get to them on michael's online shop. Hoping you can tell me where to look. The structure paste how long did it take to dry?
I waited overnight
Is the structure paste when dried heat resistant like the resin as well?
I have had no issues with it myself. No melting or warping
Can we wash the coasters,or the soap and water will ruin the coasters?
I dont recommend a dishwasher but a damp cloth to wipe them clean
Очень красиво! Спасибо.
These look incredible! I tried making these and it was like my paste never set?! I waited about 30 hours ugh
I just did my last video on fiber paste that didn't set. What brand was it?
Dryer Days Art Studio it was the viva paste!
What about mixing some sand with resin to make a paste?
You could definitely try that!! Depending on the consistency, it may not stay flush against the sides though
I can't find the sand silver structure paste anywhere! :(
They discontinued it... in some of my newer videos I show working with other pastes instead
They look so gorgeous... Whenever I try with different colors all my colors get merged.. why is that so??
you could wait until the resin thickens up a bit after you mix the resin, but as you can see mine run together too. Thank you so much for watching!!
@@DryerDaysArTsTuDiO Thnku so much... For how long approximately??
It really depends on the resin you are using, they all firm up at different times
