- Episode 5- The Secret to how I survived Oman's toughest Offroad on an oversized KLR
A continuation of episode 4....I make my way through the second half of wadi Bani Awf in Oman. I figure out how to combat my anxiety of not being a skilled offroad biker whose by herselff and I finally reach the top of the hajar and do a small victory dance. But I still have a fair distance to go and some more off road if I want to make it to the top of Jebel shams before dark and try to catch an epic sunset !!
I go through the details on a map of my route so far and I give some insightful tips of how I managed to survive the 2 passes in one day.
PLEASE NOTE BEFORE YOU COMMENT: I do not claim to be a profession adventure rider, however, I am an experienced Adventurer and never let anything stop me. The bike was a borrowed bike, yes it was too tall, but this was the only option I had if I wanted to do my trip and I never let anything stop me. Same goes with the oversized helmet, It was all I had. Do I know the risks, of course I do. But this is how I do things. I grab life by the balls and I look forward to the experience and just take it as it comes. This is how you learn, grow, and stay humble.
RE: Anxiety. I've suffered from a severe anxiety "disorder" for over 10 years now and depression for 18 years. If anyone has questions or would like any suggestions, please feel free to shoot me a message.
Thank you so much for watching and don't forget to subscribe !!

This channel was "Recommended" by UA-cam. It's about time UA-cam did something useful. =)

As an experienced rider of over 30 years, I give you BIG props for doing this on your own. You don't know how many times I had to laugh at your obvious inexperience in off road biking and wished I was there to show you how to ride so you didn't hurt yourself. :)
Anxiety is something that's hit me hard since forever , started when I was a child after so many shit things that life threw at me . Respect for what you have done x
I really enjoy your videos. I love how you interact with the people. You are able to educate the rest of the world on how friendly and beautiful people can be. Keep doing what you're doing! I'm looking forward to watching your adventures. Ride safe!
YOU ROCK girl! I love you even more knowing you come from Vancouver! New Westminster raised lad here! So proud of what you're doing! Hugs!! 😎💖
your an inspiration to all that stay indoors, scared to go out and live life. thank you for showing that we can all enjoy the simple things in life. I love watching you taking your time in the warm arid conditions. l love dry and dusty roads. stay coo.
Im telling ya'all, this channel is gon' be big guys! She makes so inspiring videos!
Yay ! Thank you 🙏
I've been riding for more than 48 years now, even raced old school motocross back in the early-mid 70s. I feel like such a wuss now. You go girl, I'm impressed. Subscribed.
You are such an inspiration! I can't wait to see the next stage of your journey!
well deserved victory dance!! But watching you deal with the stove was quite entertaining too hahaha! Good idea to recap the trip with pictures and Google Maps towards the end of the video! Once more: big respect, Rosie! And thanks for sharing!!
You're killing it. Love your videos. Keep em coming. And if you're ever in San Diego, let's ride!
Amazing how much Oman looks like SoCal and Baja. Keep up the great videos we all enjoy them.
Love how real you are 😄 I often feel trepidatious trying big new things because I don't know what I'm doing, you admit you're no expert but you just take on every challenge as it comes with no reticence, it's inspiring and fun to watch :)
Awesome job! Be safe out there you wild and crazy cat woman (10:43 had me cracking up) keep it up! looking forward to more adventures!
Hey Rosie
freaking awesome ADVENTURE ( LOve it )
your doing what most guys I know wouldn't try to do
love watching your travels,,ride safe my motorcycle sister,,,LIKED ( thumbs up)
Just found your whole trip series today and have watched them all and am loving it. Love your sense of adventure, filming and un-filtered commentary. Digging how you make mistakes on the bike but learn from them and get amped over things. Way to go! Can't wait for the rest of the series.
PS: Moto gloves are perfect potholders, one of the great things about moto-camping :)
PPS: Damn this series makes me want to buy a DRZ.
ha I'm sat here with my daughter watching this one after telling her of your dropped bike Shenanigans yesterday. We'r loving your honesty about feeling anxiety never mind loving the whole trip even more. it's a crappy saying but seems appropriate! you go girl 👍
Thank you so much for watching and so glad you guys enjoy ☺❤
Hi Rosie, you are one gutsy lady!! - Not only do you go out of your comfort zone - you go to the extreme other side of your boundaries where only the very rare would dare tred!! - You are a true heroine!! Be proud and be safe, With Love from Scotland XXX.
Thank you !! ❤🙏
I love your videos, you keep it real. No fake persona here and you always show great respect for the culture and the local people you meet. Other bloggers could learn from that. Respect.
*HOW CAN I MEET YOU OMG
Thanks god that i discovered you channel. I'am Omani girl living less than 100 km from area you are traveling in but i had never seen these mountins as beautiful as appears in your photos and vedio. Thankyou alot.
You have every reason to be proud of yourself. That was a very challenging ride. ABSELUTELY ENJOY WATCHING YOU..
You have enormous lady balls. Very inspirational. I plan on riding from outside Toronto to New Brunswick, PEI, and Nova Scotia later this year, and your videos and bravery are a huge encouragement. I've also suffered from depression and anxiety and motorcycling has made a world of difference in terms of giving me confidence and bringing more joy to life.
Beautiful route , don't forget NFL !! Enjoy your trip and thank you ☺
You are very entertaining to watch
Rosie you are absolutely amazing!! Thank you for putting a smile on my face this morning! :)
This wadi-run may just be the coolest thing I have ever seen!
To just say "Let's go" with total dedication!
It's not about the actual challenge of the bike and the road, this is not, nor du you claim it to be, a Sibirian "Long way round" kind of drive.
It's a question of pure bravery and "Can do" mentality.
Just like the Vince brothers and friends on Mondo Enduro.
You are just so cool, can't wait to watch more.
Hi Rosie I love watching your vids here in the land down under, keep them coming when you get time. Just remember when climbing hills momentum is your friend pick a line and stick to it. You did well and try not to think about it too much.
you are awesome Rosie, the fact that you were riding KLR650 took me to this chanel and I am happy it did, you really know how to inspire people, great job.

So AMAZING!! I'm so proud of you for kicking ass on those dirt roads!!!! What an epic experience & I'm so glad you are sharing it!
New sub. Just wanted to say, your attitude in this episode is exactly what adventure riding is all about, it is so fun to watch another rider complete a difficult road and explore new sights and enjoy the challenge and beauty of it all. Great job, and great videos.
Great to see some of the highlights of your trip, I think your great, well done !!! I too have suffered with depression for many years.... up's and downs.......
Is wonderful to see you took this journey, your videos have taken me back to my child hood memories well I was 17 and riding a bike, I commend you on your bravery and exposing the true nature of people instead of the feed we get from the media, wonderful adventure
I wish I was riding again, I wish you the best .
Thanks Jerry !! The episodes get better, and REALLY show you what the people are like there, AMAZING !! and nothing what you see on media ! I'm so excited to share !! thanks for watching !!
Thoroughly enjoying this series. Incredible you did this on your own.

I love these adventures!!
Great Video Rosie...you have big balls my dear and way to keep with it!!
She has balls?
Hi Rosie, I just gotta say - this channel is GOLD!
What you did is the very definition of ADVENTURE!, not properly prepared, doing your own thing without the right gear and on your own, Also known as FREEDOM! Wouldn't want my kids to do it but almighty respect to you Rosie. Have done similar by land and by sea, the true adventure for me is often removed when you join a club, with all the Nerdy professionals dictating what you can and can't do. Respect little sister and glad to see you got back safe, Keep it up and you can become a nerdy pro in the near future!
67cckelly heheh thanks !! ☺
Keep em coming! I love every video that you posted! 😂
What a beautiful shot of the sunset and sleep with the music from crickets
For not being a "professional" adventure rider, you certainly did show off some major skills in gnarly, technical riding in an oversized bike. Can't wait to see more of your adventure.
Hi Rose, awesome journey. Some very tough riding but you work your way through it. You really know how to handle a bike. Great story, fantastic footage. Thanks for sharing your amazing adventure with use. What an inspiration... Stay safe.
Keep kick'n ass, sometimes hesitation can be your enemy while riding so stay strong. You got this!
You're amazing, you have so much courage! I've been trying to work on overcoming my fears lately so I bought a motorcycle again (after not riding for 20+ years), so I've been watching a bunch of motorcycle videos, and stumbled across all yours. I admire what you've made of your life journey! I wouldn't even know where to start to get to where you are, but it looks fun and rewarding. I look forward to trying new things to conquer my fears. I grew up very shy too, I do my best to blend in, have overcome some of it over the years, but I still have anxieties that are with me today. I hope to break my barriers going into the future, and your videos are very inspirational, to demonstrate that anything is possible if you believe, and we can form ourselves into who we desire to be, once we place the fear factor behind us and have a little faith.
I done some traveling in other countries, off the beaten path before (not all adventurous like you on a bike), but I got enough of a taste of it that I can totally relate to the wonderful feelings you get when meeting and touching people's hearts from around the world.. I would like to think that someday when I'm good enough rider again, I could have the courage to go travel the world on a bike..
Anyways, keep up your awesome trooper attitude, and keep smiling like you do, it is wonderful for all, to see your example of how humans can live happily together on Earth, across all cultures.
lol.Love the noises you make while going up the road.Keep it up Rosie.Love the vids :)
You truly are amazing!
What an epic adventure!
Totally randomly watched your Oman trip and instantly subscribed to your channel. Your my #1 Heroine of 2017 :-)
Great stuff. Now I want to travel outback Australia after seeing this. Thanks for sharing.
best moto vlog channel ive found, cant wait for the next episode
Your funny and entertaining Rosie, you have a great angel that hangs out on your shoulder. Thanks for sharing, it takes a lot of time editing for videos and dealing with camera shit along the way. Good luck with your motorbike travels.
Sandy single lane road with huge drop offs on a 600lb bike with the wrong tires and the chance of someone coming at you in the other direction ...........Hell yeah !!! that's awesome :-)
I've been watching several of your videos and I connect with what you're doing. Your fearless Spirit reminds me of a U2 song from years past..I do hope you "find what you're looking for"..to live your life unlike the others can draw a little criticism from time to time.. don't allow that to undercut your path. I understand and share your passion..maybe the secret to really living begins with the power of right believing. Stay Strong!
Awesome job keep up the great journey!!
You got balls Rosie Gabrialla, inspiration and charisma. Wow! Double "Wow" for sure. Amazingly beautiful landscapes and great photos! 👍
My favorite video so far. Loved the recap; brought me back to when Long Way Round first came out.
Adventure spirit shaken and awoken. Re-inspired to make my own mockumentary series just adventuring.
I've seriously always wanted my 'occupation' to be 'Adventurer'.. XD
Inspirational stuff, thanks for sharing your incredible adventure. Looking forward to more, subscribed.
Great video, once again!
Beautiful so inspirational love it keep it up
I hope this comment finds you well, I can feel and fear every bit of that silt. It's exactly like the trails in the ATV park I manage in the Texas panhandle. I bought my KLR after taking over the park this year, and it's scary knowing how heavy it is to pick up.
May the other foul mouthed goddess' protect you as always, Rosie.
Faye
This just makes me want to load up my KLR and go travelling
Follow me on my preparations and adventures on Mad Dog McBain's Motorcycle Adventures.
me too :) but I am wondering, if I could do a trip like that on my 2002 Road King...
only if you can pick it up when it falls over...lol
