I have this same tire in 38x13.50r17 on my JK. I love them. Super quiet, smooth on road, stay balanced, and work nicely offroad. A perfect balance of AT and MT.
Going back to watch this from April 2021 is eye opening! Kevin with longer hair on his head but none on his face! Brit's hair longer too. First time on 38"Milestars! Brit asks "What have we done?!" Stick around - y'all ain't seen nothin' yet! Just kids out beginning a great adventure! LiteBriteNationRecollection!
Glad to see someone else went with Milestar Patagonias. I have 37's on 17" Spyderlock wheels on my 2014 JK. OFFRD - the noise is not bad. Sounds kind of like a low pitched, distant swarm of bees. Honestly though, if you have your top down or doors off, you are not really going to notice. They were tricky to balance. I had a pretty bad shimmy at highway speed, but had them bead balanced by Joe's Tires in Clarksville, TN. Throw in a small bag of tiny glass beads, and they fly around inside the tire and balance it. Took out most of the wobble. I don't do a lot of high-speed highway driving, so good enough for me.
I immediately recognized HWY 287 when you showed the landscape through your window. I drive that hwy 3-5 times a year back and forth from Fort Worth on my way to various destinations in NM, AZ, UT, CO, CA, NV. And that view you showed is why I drive the heck out of Texas so often.
Love seeing you guys do different things with your Jeep. Showing everyone theres more options than nitto grapplers and K02s though there great tires. Your educating the free range market like myself, that is a little hesitant but also cost effective and efficient(TBD) who knows those 38s might be the new wave cause they do fit perfect!! Cant wait to see. Thanks!!!!
I have Milestar Patagonia on my F-350 4x4. Been riding on them about a year now and it’s time for some new ones. I would buy these again! I just want the next time to be for my new JT Jeep truck when they come out!!! Holy shiitake I can hardly contain myself.
Firstly, I just found your channel and you guys are great, love the channel. Second, I just ordered a '19 Jeep Rubicon JL in Granite with all fixings they offer but an automatic and as soon as it arrives, the plan is it's getting a 4" lift and I'm looking for 38" rubber, which is how I found your channel!! So, I am going to check out these Milestar Tires now, so thanks for the post!! Now, with regards to your "ticket"??? OMFG!!! I just retired from a large S.O. after 30yrs in Law Enforcement after doing 10yrs in the Marines and I have to say this....I was NOT a "Tax Collector" for the gov't and wrote the least amount of tickets to people within my whole dept and I find that your "ticket" for Impeding the Flow of Traffic, ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS, nevermind the fact that it required 3 LEO's to accomplish that task. It's behaviour like that which causes some of the negative attitude that citizens have towards LEO's today. I loved my career and wouldn't of changed it for anything, but my time was better spent investigating real crimes, rather than that type of FBS!! Just my opinion of course and it means absolutely nothing, but I just needed to say something about it. I'm done now, other than I will say, you both handled it great!! I'm actually not sure that I would of been anywhere near as polite had Mike Pigg given me that ticket?? ;) Just sayin'...Lol...Anyway, thanks for the video and the tip on those tires, I appreciate it. I hope the tires have worked out well for you??
Hell of a long drive for tires, but I’m sure it was worth it. Very surprised that there aren’t any problems with fit inside the wheel wells. Ah, the cracked windshield. Had that happen on my XJ. It’s a Jeep thing.
How about that wheel selection! NICE!! Couldn't of chosen a nicer wheel and tire combo. But yes, the black lugs will make the difference. Sucks about the windshield though. Can't wait to see the next vid on those aired down and put to the test!
Funny that this is showing up on my feed now. Been a subscriber for years and I googled "Jeep JLU on 38s" the other day and now I'm getting this as a suggestion on UA-cam lol. The stepchild has gone through so many changes since then. And it's weird not seeing Chris and Beck on the channel. Also, Milestar tire has gotten pretty well known since this video, in no small part thanks to guys like you and Matt from the MORR team.
2-1/2 " of lift for a 5" increase in tire size !? I'm impressed that the 38's didn't rub with only a small addition to the bump-stop - JL's must have a lot more room under their raised fenders! How's the flex on the trail?
Nice setup! I just added 37x13.5s on my JLUR with 3.5" backspace wheels and a 2" suspension lift. Absolutely love it. That ticket is total bull. I'd fight it but that's just me. I love y'alls videos. I have someone else to go through the growing pains for a new model wrangler with lol
Love your videos. I just ordered my JL in Sting Gray, as I could not find one with anywhere near the setup that I want. It’s going to take 8 - 10 weeks to get my rig & I’m amped; your content helps keep me excited for its arrival. I’ll probably do a modest lift & 35s, but hope to see you on the trails, such a cool couple. Keep enjoying your Jeep & life!
I just ordered my JL in Bright White. I couldn't find one the way I wanted it either. How did you find out how long it would take. My dealership set mine to top priority. Hopefully it don't take 10 weeks.mine is totaled so I have no vehicle right now.
The two of you handled the ticket well. If my wife didn’t have any green onboard I would have gave him shit. Rims and tires look great! Love the videos.
My parents live in Texas, I hate driving to Texas with out of state plates, they love to pull you over. I hit Amarillo and then take 287 down to Dallas, pass through Childress plenty of times.
The 4 doors sure look better with bigger tires, I missed Holy Cross, would be nice to see if the difference will push me to bigger tires in the future. I dont feel the jump to 37's is worth 1inch clearance but the 38's seem tempting. Let's see how them 44's hold up.
Hey guys I finally subscribed...I had a 72 CJ -5 in my youth and I still remember tearing the rear pinion to shreds raising hell in the woods!! I had to sell it when I bought my house and I still miss that jeep!! Looking forward to future vids !!!!
Nice set of wheels... I'm running Nitto Trail Grapplers 38s and never heard of the tires y'all picked up. I will definitely be getting me a set of those shoes put on my JK! Thanks for the Video!
Because they know you'll never drive all the way back to fight the ticket which is totally outrageous! the only thing you were impeding was them from getting to the donut shop! Please sense you guys go to Texas a lot please go back and fight a ticket just to piss them off! I think jealousy just reared its ugly head, Kind of like when I watch these videos LMAO!
Tires are badass. That's funny y'all got pulled over in Texas. I was in Amarillo over the weekend and got pulled over 42 in a 40. Then they proceed to search my truck for drugs. I had to get my wife and kids out of the truck so it could be searched. One officer stated "we have problems with people from Colorado". No ticket just a warning.
Today is the due date on that ticket... did you show up to contest, reschedule or just paid it? Nice vids, very informative and enjoyable to watch. Thanks for sharing!
We paid a lawyer to take care of it. Cost about the same as the ticket, but we would rather that town not get our money (plus keeps it off Kevin's record).
Dang, I wish I would have seen this a month ago!!! I just bought new 35s. Looked all around for NEW hybrid type tires and these never came up, bummer.definitley will look into them for my next set in about 50k miles or less!
Seeing all these videos is great because I can get a really good idea what I can and can't run when I get a JLUR after college amd with the diesel engine too!!
Absolutely love the jeep and the new wheels and tires! I wish you would have told us if they are louder or about the same as the other ones on the highway tho! Ohh and another thing idk about the jl or if anyone has already mentioned this but please be careful with that stock tire carrier they have been known to break with 37s (on the jks) but if that thing does snap off it could very literally kill someone.
Dude! those one of the best for rock crawling, driving in sand, mud, snow and that's all you need for your off-road adventures. Wise choies and would definitely get those for my jeep.
Normally, I would say those tires are too big. But wow, do they look awesome! That new style Wrangler just begs for bigger tires. I had a TJ Wrangler. Every time I drove from Colorado to Texas I got a speeding ticket in a small Texas town. I had no idea that I could have gotten a "too slow" ticket?? They don't like CO plates!
I remember one winter night I stopped in a church parking lot in Helmetta n.j. to remove and snow the cop asked me how long it would take and don't you think you look suspicious it was 11pm after my shift at work what do you think
I'm ultimately waiting for the review you guys give the tires. Obviously this is because you guys actually wheel your Jeep. So far I've ran BFGs and Mickeys on mine. Looking to see for later upgrade.
Kevin Williams Yes I have a 17 JKU Rubicon traded up from my 16 JKU Sport. Live in Wisconsin. Loved wheeling out in Colorado. Drag race would def make for good vid.
Those look great! And too bad those wheels are discontinued, I really like them. Different from the typical black wheel or Jeep bro Fuel type wheel. I ran MB wheels on my old ZJ, I liked them a lot. Discount definitely has great products and service. Also, your buddy's Jeep looks great! I love the color, that's the first time I've seen the "Sting Gray" other than the Jeep site. And obviously the lifted Jeep looks killer, but the stocker has a pretty damn good stance from the factory in itself.
If you haven't already been next time to come down to Decatur you need to go to Catfish O'Harlies, U.S. 287, Decatur, TX the best catfish in the area they have good frog legs as well!
38’s look great! Every state and municipality is different. If you were in say GA for example they may have cited you for tires extending outside of fender/flare and wouldn’t let you back on the road until you fixed it.
38 is 1 inch diameter bigger, that’s 1/2” radius lift, seems like a lot of money for 1/2” lift. Can’t compare a mounted tire beside one not mounted the non mounted one always will seem way bigger than it really is. The biggest let down you will experience is turning rear bump stop block up like you did, you gained a 1/2” more tire in the wheel well, but gave up way over a inch of articulation because of changing bump stop. You actually lost rear articulation off roading over a slightly bigger tire.
Kevin Williams I can see it on the tire carrier, my 37 was almost exactly where the third brake light sits, you can say true 38” if you want, my 37’s was 36.8” are you really saying a 1/8” difference even if they was 38” true. So I stand corrected you gain 1/2” plus 1/16” so 9/16” and gave up a inch in bump stop in the rear. I would and did on mine added two 1/8” stainless steel washers under each laying down bump stops. 1/4” was plenty. One inch higher bump stop is a huge negative on both sides articulating. You can tell by windshield, ticket, time, and money, this wasn’t a great thing to do,, Read the signs in your life. Just looked it up at Milestone tires online your tire is 37.8” exactly one inch bigger like I thought.
Kevin Williams hey I am happy for you, just I bought Yahahoma Geolander G003 they measured 36.8. I research long and hard before I bought them, all brands that I looked at was a minimum of 36.7. I guess the real question is what tire was you running that would rip someone off saying 37” when measured 36 or less. Not hear to rain on your parade, hope you enjoy testing them out on the trails, remember a couple of washers underneath the laying down bump stop was all you really needed, get back some of the articulation loss you gave up
Sounds like our Drive from our place to the nearest city to get diesel parts. O'Reilly's or AutoZone or the four-wheel drive shop is 140 miles away and if we want four wheel drive parts or Summit 6 hour drive to Reno Nevada from our place but it's always worth it and good tires are always a good thing
Not sure if it's already been asked but what tire pressure are you running for highway travel? I just got the same tires and I'm down to 25 psi and still seem to riding the center of the tires.
It will vary depending on weight and vehicle, but you won’t run full flat across these treads. A couple inches on either side shouldn’t be touching pavement
@@LiteBrite Thanks for the info! I was thinking the same especially since the center of the tires are shaped and designed the way they are. I was just concerned with tires being overinflated causing excess wear on the center of the tire.
So, after all of the good talk about your Milestar Patagonia 38"s, I decided to give them a try on my 2011 JK. They ride ridiculously quite compared to the 35" General Grabber X3 MTs. On top of the ride quality, they are only a few pounds heavier , 82.4 lbs vs 78.7 lbs. which is great since I have they 3.8 powerhouse motor LOL. Metal Cloak belly pans are next!! Great reviews you guys do!!
Looks good guys, time for some longer shocks for some increased droop yeah? Ex Military aye, I am an ex Navy mechanical engineer. 12 years was enough for me. Keep the up the good videos, so good to watch this thing evolve.
I donot know the strength difference between 3 & 10 ply tires .. I wonder how much you will be airing them down to !?!? I do not know a ho,e lot about that but it seems like something to watch out for ..one thing for sure is discount tire backs up their sales .. so replacing is not a worry .. I will be watching those tires cause if they work out great why not save some money !!!
SaintNick71 Don't worry. The spare is kept in the back of the Jeep for the moment until we get the reinforcement kit. It only went on the back for the ride home since there were 4 mounted 37s in the Jeep. Lol
SaintNick71 Relax junior ... why the need to be a smartass? I ran 35s on a JK w/ stock welds & zero issues. Then I got the Teraflex bracket for peace of mind, but probably not necessary.
Ben Ponsano Yes, definitely wouldn't recommend carrying anything larger than a 35" on the tailgate without a reinforcement kit. We're working in getting one as we speak! In the meantime, the spare is being kept inside the back of the Jeep.
I'm wondering if I'll need to get those midrange bumpers... Not sure just yet. Everything will be installed mid June. I'm so excited. Keep up the awesome videos guys👍
Hi Kevin and Ms Lite Brite! Love the videos -great job driving and your spotter is a keeper! I've passed/posted your videos on to lots of friends. I'm about 2 steps behind you on the exact same rig... I have BFG AT 35's on stock rims now, decided it’s time to put the 2.5" RC lift in and 37's now since worked well for you. I'll probably go with the Milestars after I see your next video opinion. Probably gonna ditch the spare and put skidplates on also. If you have time I’d love to get your opinion on 3 things: 1) Curious if all the tires you've tried were the same price and size, would Milestars still be at the top of the list? 2) What are your thoughts on clearance with Patagonia 37's on stock rims for now with only a 1.5" spacer? (I'd like to keep them tucked under a little bit due to winter driving in WI). 3) I regretfully didn’t order the oem steel bumpers; I see you have your ears off the front bumper, do you think the ears would hit tires with 37’s and 2.5” lift? The reason I ask is I’d hate to buy a steel oem bumper and not be able to have those on for highway/deer hit protection, then I might as well just order an aftermarket mid or stubby bumper. We will be at Easter Moab 19, hope to run into you and say thanks!
Hey guys, tires look awesome quick question. I want to try those tires same size and all. I have a 2.5 Metalcloak game changer lift do you think it will handle them ok or would you suggest a coil exchange to 3.5 lift. It’s been super fun watching your journey. Thank you
That ticket sounds like that town has a nice little racket going on. Waldo Florida and Hawthorne Florida near where I used to live were the same and would bust people for the most minor things. They got enough complaints and the state finally shut them down completely
Looks great. I’m just glad you didn’t go with 40’s you would’ve been pushing everything to far. Still I think the 38’s are pushing it to the limit of the stock parts.
Just got these in a 38 for my tj. Pretty excited to get my long arms and ton swap finished so I can hit the trails! Come out to west Texas sometime, maybe checkout the Escondido draw ohv park that just opened. Has some good 5 diamond trails.
I have never seen a women more exited about wheels and tires. I'm forwarding this vid to my wife.
Maybe she's a tire lovin kind of rim lovin kind of girl.
Yes she looks beautiful with the new tires!, and the Jeep looks pretty good too! LOL!
Still waiting for that real dirty Bikini Jeep wash video for Christmas lol!
Its actually "I'm going to share" not forward yes I'm that guy
Harold Brock We may have gotten a good batch, ours balanced really well! And yeah the noise is much quieter than any other offroad tire we've had!
Thanks!!!!
Having fun going back through your old videos. Stepchild was so new.😊
I have Milestar Patagonia on my F-350 4x4. Been riding on them about a year now and it’s time for some new ones. I would buy these again! I just want the next time to be for my new JT Jeep truck when they come out!!! Holy shiitake I can hardly contain myself.
I like the wheels! Your right, never heard of milestone tires, look forward to your review

I see a larger lift in your future. Love you guys!
These JL's are pretty awesome. Im more and more pleased with this model the more I see of it. Love the channel, keep it up!
Hell of a long drive for tires, but I’m sure it was worth it. Very surprised that there aren’t any problems with fit inside the wheel wells. Ah, the cracked windshield. Had that happen on my XJ. It’s a Jeep thing.

It fits it so well with the jeeps new wheels and tires I say it's just perfect👌
The 38s look great on the JL. Even though I purchased a Honda. I still want a Jeep. I’ll work my way up. Then be part of the JL fam.
2-1/2 " of lift for a 5" increase in tire size !? I'm impressed that the 38's didn't rub with only a small addition to the bump-stop - JL's must have a lot more room under their raised fenders! How's the flex on the trail?
Mike Pigg !! ID 101. Childress Texas. Lets make this guy famous.
Wish I could share a pic of my JL here 😆
Looking forward to see you test those wheels and tires
Love your videos. I just ordered my JL in Sting Gray, as I could not find one with anywhere near the setup that I want. It’s going to take 8 - 10 weeks to get my rig & I’m amped; your content helps keep me excited for its arrival.

Nice tires tuck up just right in the fenders. Sucks about the windshield. Ours got a big crack coming back from the grand canyon last month
The two of you handled the ticket well. If my wife didn’t have any green onboard I would have gave him shit. Rims and tires look great! Love the videos.
Tires look tough, but would you guys make video how your steering components holding up?
The JL is coming along nicely, can’t wait to see the next video with you guys trying out the new tires 👍🏻
Lovely couple right there. She's so cute and he seems like a cool guy.
The Ice Spider Thank you!
Looks very good on the new tires , nice video.
tires and wheels look awsome!

Kevin Williams how did the new tires bite vs the Goodyear’s?
Compound maybe softer on that tire vs the MTR. Would be interesting to test with a durometer.
Cops like that give the other good cops a bad name are you serious!?!?
looks incredible and god damn that music was FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!
Hey guys I finally subscribed...I had a 72 CJ -5 in my youth and I still remember tearing the rear pinion to shreds raising hell in the woods!! I had to sell it when I bought my house and I still miss that jeep!! Looking forward to future vids !!!!
You are a very lucky man, and I’m not talking about the Jeep 😂 She seems like a wonderful lady.
Lol I just had a road trip down to Austin last week and that’s one of the first things we did was get whataburger
I'm only only 3 years behind The Times I just put 38 on my wife's Jeep game changer for sure
That's just small town police boosting the income stream of tickets. It's ridiculous.
should teach those cops a lesson by suing the hell outta them and getting them fired. those incompetent thugs are a waste of tax money
revenue whores.
Dawson Lane Good choice! Weve considered swapping to the diesel when it's released. We shall see!
Awesome! Can’t wait for the video of y’all properly breaking them in!
That is one sick Jeep
Those tires are badass!
That windshield crack tho :(
Dude! those one of the best for rock crawling, driving in sand, mud, snow and that's all you need for your off-road adventures.
Wise choies and would definitely get those for my jeep.
That looks so good! Time for some gears. I think I would have gone to true bead locks though.
Todd Gibbs If we had the money, definitely! As for gears, does not seem to need them. No struggling or power issues.
I will have a Jeep again once the truck is payed off. I am struggling between heavy custom JK or less mods with a JL. $50k can go a long way on a JK.
Looks good, great price on those beadlockers
Don’t forget to recalibrate the speedometer.
I thoroughly enjoy your videos. I'm learning a lot and I enjoy watching your adventures. Thanks for sharing!
That looks SOOOOO good!!
Great video .. you guys should add more lift with 40's 😎
I remember one winter night I stopped in a church parking lot in Helmetta n.j. to remove and snow the cop asked me how long it would take and don't you think you look suspicious it was 11pm after my shift at work what do you think
Have you measured the height of the tires on the jeep? I'm curious what the true measurement is. The tires look nice.
Time for new gears!
The all mighty JL wins again lol. Def would need them in a JK.
Kevin Williams That's impressive.
I’ve already had two cracks in mine .... the windshields on the JL’s are cracking left and right
The 38s look amazing on the JL
Did you feel any power loss with those 38s?
Hahahahahaha! The end is hilarious! Can’t make that up!
Awesome tires and wheels!! Makes your Rubicon look Absolutely Awesome!!!
I could hand with Kevin seems like a way cool dude!!!!
I’m really enjoy your videos! Awesome content and production!
If you don’t mind me asking, what did Kevin do in the military?
Those look great! And too bad those wheels are discontinued, I really like them. Different from the typical black wheel or Jeep bro Fuel type wheel. I ran MB wheels on my old ZJ, I liked them a lot. Discount definitely has great products and service.
Also, your buddy's Jeep looks great! I love the color, that's the first time I've seen the "Sting Gray" other than the Jeep site. And obviously the lifted Jeep looks killer, but the stocker has a pretty damn good stance from the factory in itself.
Was there a lift put in here?
Great Aggressive looking tires but, just curios about your steering clearance.
Damm super red looks good!!!!
I never seen that tire they looks super! Please let us know how good they are on the road! Tks!
How did it affect vehicle operation and fuel mileage? I assume you had a gear change in your differential?
Jeep looks great!
Do the rings come off? If so, you should definitely paint them red to match the Jeep.
If you haven't already been next time to come down to Decatur you need to go to Catfish O'Harlies, U.S. 287, Decatur, TX the best catfish in the area they have good frog legs as well!
38’s look great! Every state and municipality is different. If you were in say GA for example they may have cited you for tires extending outside of fender/flare and wouldn’t let you back on the road until you fixed it.
sut2910 Luckily Texas and Colorado aren’t quite that silly. 😊
I’m riding on 38x13.50x20r on my JL and I live in Ga, and I haven’t had any issues with any police officers!
Looks great! Looking forward to seeing the flexing on the trail.
Not hear to rain on your parade, hope you enjoy testing them out on the trails, remember a couple of washers underneath the laying down bump stop was all you really needed, get back some of the articulation loss you gave up
What about the Toyo mts ? They say they are true 37s closer to it ?
Awesome!! Glad you like them
Looks good guys, time for some longer shocks for some increased droop yeah?
Ex Military aye, I am an ex Navy mechanical engineer. 12 years was enough for me.
Keep the up the good videos, so good to watch this thing evolve.
Simons World Thank you!
Wow looks beast! Please give us a proper review once you've spent some proper time with those meats lol.
Still a great road trip !
Y'all went with 38s, good choice looks great!
I talked to a more knowledgeable friend earlier about the three ply thing ... he explained about the anti puncture in the side walls ..
Wheels and tires are almost as sexy as Kevin!!! Teeheehee! In all seriousness, they kick ass!
I like the new shoes! Get some adjustable bump stops and then your golden!
Did you change the gearing at all?
Be interesting to see when your tailgate fails. Hopefully that will be captured on video.
Looks awesome on your jeep. Please let me know if you have to fortify the axles or drivetrain any.
Michael McMullen So far so good! They handled offroading AMAZINGLY
Love the new set up. Do you guys have any worries about the weight of the tire on the jeep swing door? Any reinforcements in the works?
Ben Ponsano Yes, definitely wouldn't recommend carrying anything larger than a 35" on the tailgate without a reinforcement kit. We're working in getting one as we speak! In the meantime, the spare is being kept inside the back of the Jeep.
Lite Brite, great to hear! I can't wait untill I get back to the states, right now I have a 2012 4runner....definitely want a JL
I'm wondering if I'll need to get those midrange bumpers... Not sure just yet. Everything will be installed mid June. I'm so excited. Keep up the awesome videos guys👍
Why not 40’s? They come under 40 also 39.8”...
Will the 2” mopar lift clear the 38’s patagonias? Without removing fenders?
Alex A. Because the 38s clear with the 2.5" Rough Country lift without having to mess with the fenders or go higher! 🙂
Kevin Williams Thanks man! You should have seen the first draft... ha ha! Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated. Have a great weekend!
I don't even remember seeing the tires... What tires?
9 inch wide for 38 tires? wow
Hey guys, tires look awesome quick question. I want to try those tires same size and all. I have a 2.5 Metalcloak game changer lift do you think it will handle them ok or would you suggest a coil exchange to 3.5 lift.
It’s been super fun watching your journey.
Thank you
Beautiful! The 38s fit perfect too. Don't lift it, it looks great
That ticket sounds like that town has a nice little racket going on.
Alex Benford We agree! The Jeep and stock components seem to handle the 38s just fine, but any bigger and I think we'd have to make a lot of changes.
38s with 18s?
HEY I’m in Austin TX haha idk how far it is from where your at but that’s a hell of a drive ....
Just got these in a 38 for my tj. Pretty excited to get my long arms and ton swap finished so I can hit the trails! Come out to west Texas sometime, maybe checkout the Escondido draw ohv park that just opened. Has some good 5 diamond trails.
Your the best, Hi from Nogales Sonora Mexico
