Im a Pennsylvanian we normally say the abbreviation PA instead of Pennsylvania and PA drivers have the highest chances of hitting a deer while behind the wheel.
Like we say... deer cause about 30% of all vehicle accidents. I say we stop letting them drive!
Western PA is the worst offender. I'm constantly testing my breaks because of those dick heads.
There are way to many deer in PA, at least in the lower west side of it. And it just gets kinda taxing to constantly actually say Pennsylvania, so much easier just to say PA
Once we were driving home from Bedford, PA. Our suburban hit a deer ON THE LITERAL HIGHWAY (I’m pretty sure I-99), and we had to pull off and our dad was in a different vehicle and he picked us up. And one morning, when my mom left for work, her Volkswagen crashed into a deer ON OUR ROAD! (I didn’t know the exact spot but it was close to our house)

Hershey’s corporate offices are not in Pittsburgh, they’re in Hershey!
Alison Kitchin #JustMonika
correct. I was a bit surprised that he made such an easy error.
@@patrickwentz8413 yep stuff like that makes you question all the other facts.
And if they are going for facts, Pennsylvania is a Commonwealth.
@@39aeb While you are right. There is no difference between a state and a commonwealth, they chose that word as an insult to King George. But legally it is no different than being called a state.
Honestly there’s enough info about Pennsylvania to do 101 More Facts
He didn’t mention Mister Rogers and that make me so irrationally angry.
I’m from PA, Bradford PA actually. I was hoping you would mention where the Zippo Lighters are made and we’re invented. Also the only place they are made. Pretty cool especially for a very small town. (Or township lol)

Bradford!? Well hello! My parents live in Smethport and we have a camp in St. Mary’s!

Ahh Bradford, I always hated away games against you guys, its quite a haul to get up there.
“Where it’s always raining”, it’s raining right now. Also how dare you not talk about the oil industry, Pennzoil, Quaker State, etc
faux pa
@@patrickwentz8413 Huh?
@@venangoproductions Faux Pas means to make a mistake. I changed it to Faux PA because Pennsylvania is abbreviated as PA. So he made a MISTAKE in not bringing up PAs oil industry hence a faux pa.

South Philly ,,, checking in! Your New Jersey accent is shocking not as sus I would have thought.
In PA, taxes don't go away. The toll on our major highway that goes across the state was only meant to last to pay off the it's construction. The toll has never gone away and makes more money than it cost to maintain the highway by a large differential.
I'm from outback Australia but I reckon Pennsylvania's country side would look awesome in winter with all the snow
It's stunning. One of many things I love about home. I wish I could show you they view from my back yard
it’s beautiful, PA has the most untouched forest in the contiguous US (alaskas hard to beat), and even central PA where most of the farmland is is beautiful in the winter, rolling hills of white
It’s sad we don’t get as much snow anymore, especially in Pittsburgh
I learned more about my own state in this 27 minute video then I did the whole time I was in school growing up! I think it would be smart for teachers to assign students homework of watching certain youtube videos, I know kids would love that lol. Idk about how y'all are but I learn so much better watching interesting videos then sitting in class listening to a boring teacher talk.

Well our school systems don’t really talk about local history all that much. In 4th grade we took a small field trip around our town and then in 5th grade we went to Gettysburg and that’s about it
Why did you choose such a dark picture of Pittsburgh? It’s a beautiful city and there are hundreds of photos showing its beauty! Bah!
the banana split was invent in Latrobe PA
the same town where Mr. Roger and Arnold Palmer were born and grew up in.
Actually, Mr. Rogers grew up in Youngstown… And, Arnold Palmer owned businesses in Latrobe, but certainly did not live here…
Really I didn’t even know the banana splits for mead here
Williamsport, PA! Born and raised. Home of Little League Baseball and the Little League World Series.

Lancaster, Pennsylvania is pronounced Lan-kis-ter apparently.
not apparently, it is
and home to one of the best bands august burns red (ABR)
Either way is acceptable
Hi! Native here! It is. We are not English. Don’t pronounce it like we are!
As a native Pennsylvanian, I always wanted to go to Lancaster, England and pronounce it like we do and see if they correct me. :P
Not only is the world's oldest rollercoaster in PA, it is also home to the very first rollercoaster to appear in America. In 1873, the gravity-driven Switchback Railroad of Mauch Chunk, now Jim Thorpe, re-fitted its coal cars to carry people. Until its closure in 1929, passengers were regularly terrified out of their wits when the engineer let off the brake to reach downhill speeds of 60 MPH. For many years, it was said that a nurse was always stationed at the bottom of the run with smelling salts to revive overwhelmed Victorian women. Enterprising young residents hiked the rails daily, and thus began a suspicious boom in the second-hand hat trade. You can still hike much of this beautiful trail today!
My dad went to Pennsylvania in the 80’s. He said he met the most kind and welcoming people there. Hope to be able to visit after the pandemic. Grettings from Denmark 🇺🇸🇩🇰
Your dad is correct. I live in Pa. and the people are friendly and kind
the Amish are like hobbit culture in real life
Your dad lied to you.

Hello from Bethlehem PA! You could of at least mention the importance of the steel industry Bethlehem and Pittsburgh had throughout the years.... Bethlehem Steel steel is found ALL OVER the nation!
Yeah some of these ‘facts’ were meh. He could of done some better research
I've walked around Centralia my sandals melted but it is really fun.

I’ve been there too, it’s a shame they got rid of the Graffiti Highway
It's disturbing that the government caused that problem than refused to fix it.
Born in Reading. Raised in Mohnton. Live in Pittsburgh. Went to college in Latrobe. Dad's from Erie. Mom's from Mohnton. I'd say I'm from PA.

As someone who lives in the Johnstown area we could really use some of that flood tax money 😂
I agree Johnstown is dying a slow death if only things would turn around it might be a nice place to live
Fr though. Johnstown used to be so much nicer than what it is now
I live near Johnstown! My dad works there! We don’t live in Cambria County, but we live in the one next to it!

You consistently referred to Pennsylvania as a "state" throughout the video when in fact, Pennsylvania is a commonwealth...
It's a Commonwealth State so it's actually still a state. The second state to be exact
Hello from York, PA, thanks for mentioning us!
Same lol
ditto
More facts (at least fun to me) are missing. Lord's Valley, Dingmans Ferry, Blooming Grove, & Hawley are some of the names used for where I lived 🤣 Stroudsburg had a pretty big flood 10+ years ago. Bushkill Falls & Pocono Mountains were big tourists spots. That area was also where many NY & NJ rich ppl had summer homes. Breaking Benjamin is from Wilkes-Barre, PA is right next to Scranton. The now gone Bethlehem Steel building was where Transformers: The Revenge of the Fallen was filmed at before it was destroyed. Eastern State Pen in Philadelphia, PA is the East Coast version of Alcatraz & is used for historic tours year round but during the Halloween season it also becomes a haunted attraction.
proud to be a Pennsylvanian!
edit 1: still proud!

I live in North Huntingdon. I legit shouted in excitement when I heard it mentioned.

Surprised he didn’t mention the Johnstown Flood of 1977. That one actually effected my mom
johnstowns a shithole but it’s very historic
Unfortunately I still live in Pennsylvania, or PA as we call it. It is also known as Pennsyltucky for all the rural areas between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
I'm a Pittsburgher who grew up in Apollo then Indiana pa and never heard anyone say Pennsyltucky
You forgot to mention that Pennsylvania is the snack Capital

PA has very few trains these days. There’s only one passenger line going East/west that I know of. Philly and Pittsburgh may have more but no where else.

We also have the world's steepest incline plane. Johnstown Pennsylvania. How Could You mention the Johnstown Flood so quickly LOL
I've been to Pennsylvania a few times, and it's always a lot of fun. Falling Waters is lovely to visit, and Hershey Park has a fun museum and theme park dedicated to chocolate (I visited in seventh grade, and the sweatshirt I bought there still fits!). I gotta get out to Philly though, I had no idea it was so haunted!
I live in Pennsylvania. I live in a small town and we LOVE visiting areas like Pittsburg and Erie. Once, me and my lil sis saw Lake Erie and we went onto the sand! (We didn’t go into the water because it was a November)
man PA is the most haunted state in the US, go to gettysburg😂
@@chadcolson7193 actually, Ohio has a higher record of haunted locations.

does he realize that there is more to PA than philly??
just an FYI, in PA, Lancaster is pronounced LANK-aster, not LAN-caster
Yes, I live in PA. In a borough, not a town. I was born here, but moved away at age 18. Came back and went to Mansfield University of Pennsylvania at age 26. Graduated at age 30. Moved out again. And came back at age 38. I guess I’ll stay here now. I’m too old to live that bohemian life anymore. My mom calls me and my brothers Gypsies, because we’re always moving around.
Wow what a coincidence. I live in Pennsylvania and on my birthday

How are you going to talk about PA and not talk about WAWA?
My home town is Levittown PA. I have not lived in PA for the past 20 years but will still always be home.
I did not know until I moved to Colorado you can not buy beer or booze in supermarket or convert stores in PA. I do believe they finally lifted that.
In PA you can now buy beer and wine at grocery stores and some gas stations/convenience stores. You still have to buy liquor from the state stores. And you can still buy wine there too
Middletown/ Royalton is where Three Mile Island is. I can see it from my bathroom window
I would gladly watch every single state and country and area and whatever else people call their giant areas of land. I am a native Pennsylvanian, boring state all in all. Kennet square smells terrible due to the mushroom farms. Sorry to all the kennet square folk, but it's rough driving through it.
Pa is not a boring state, you are just a boring person!

Don't worry, I watched the entire vid. Not gonna be too nit picky as someone bred, born, raised and resided in the Commonwealth my entire 59 years, but... absolutely correct on Three Mile Island, and there are no doubt thousands of pics you could have used, the pic you chose is not of TMI, I used to live 2 miles from 3 mile island. As someone mentioned, Hershey Foods was founded in and remains in Hershey PA, about a 10 minute drive from Harrisburg. And the Leap the Dips coaster is at Lakemont Park, in Altoona PA. It is 100+ years old and while not fast, it's scary. Unfortunately all ride at Lakemont are closed this year and will probably be moving forward until a weathly benefactor (eh um, talking to you HERCO) steps in. Lakemont cannot afford the insurance coverage. Until someone can, the Leap the Dips will just sit there and rot away........alas
