Fantastic example of traditional joinery skills! My grandad who was a master carpenter and cabinet maker before WW2 and after the war up until 1960s I'm sure would be impressed and heartened to see the old skills being used again now. I've bought all the tools and acquired some old one of his and other old carpenters joiners and cabinet makers who have passed away retired etc and though I'm not trained I'm pretty handy and intend to start building my own off Grid campervan using these techniques and also buy and renovate an old run down off grid property/farm perhaps abroad when I find the right one and these videos are a MASSIVE inspiration! I bought my young nephew a set of mini but fully functional traditional hand tools hand plane brace chisel saws etc etc when he was only about 6 years old as my grandad bought (or made?) me a set similar around the same age in early 80s just before he sadly passed away at just 69years old. He wanted to somehow pass the torch I think and while he couldn't teach me anything, the passion and natural aptitude has always been with me and respect for the skills he had that I've since heard about from my cousin pre power tool days! Making fitted wardrobes for his dad in 2 days as they were poor and apparently "made it look easy" even though he had one lung from cancer and not long before he died still had IMMENSE skill so my cousin told me! These skills are all but lost now but guys like you are incentivising people to learn teach and keep these skills alive and that's my intention now I'm in my late 40s total change if direction into this.. which I should have done from my teens truth be known! Well done! Sorry for essay, but this inspired me and mad me think of him! Cheers from London England 👍😎🏴🇬🇧
Seeing your skill with hand tools is an encouragement to those of us who may be looking forward to precision equipment purchases of the caliber we see in your shop. Elegant workmanship--a true master of your craft, my friend...keep 'em comin' !
Dude!!! I SO want to be like you when I grow up! Seriously you are a huge inspiration for me to keep moving forward with my woodworking. Thanks for sharing your amazing abilities with us all!!!
Is their a book about different types of joinery? I’ve tried searching and don’t seem to come up with anything like I’ve seen on here. I’ve seen the castle joint referenced other places.

Your videos are way too satisfying, overloads of perfection. Wish I live closer to you and learn from you, what you are doing is mind-blowing, you already a legend. Thank you for all the great content 🙏
I noticed the brand of chisels you’re using, and went to a site that carries them, only to find this one negative review: “The backs of these chisels are not flat in the worst kind of way. It's almost as if they put a back bevel on them at the factory. Not worth the time it takes to flatten them.” What are your thoughts on the comment, as I’m in need of a good set of chisels, and I’m looking for the right suggestions?
I hope one day I can spend thousands of dollars on High end machinery, then proceed to use hand tools and make a flawless joint 😂😂
The Multiple video angles of a perfect fit at the end are so satisfying to watch, you’re a master of your craft sir, thank you
Lol that’s what made we switch from watching on the feed to clicking the video and giving a like
Thanks so much!

Love this. Did you just glue or use dowels and glue for final assembly? Or something else? Thanks
If i remember correctly then i saw a video from you once where you showed a japanese joinery book. What book was that?
