Once you get a system down with the deck, it's really not that bad. I take mine off/on very often and at first it was a struggle. Now that I have a better understanding if how it works, it a easy task.

My son purchased a Deere 1025R just over a year ago. He has accumulated about 200 hrs. on the unit. During the summer months the mower and bucket are switched several times a week. The transition is quick and easy. It does a great job with any of the several attachments he has for it. It seems to be well worth the extra coins to purchase it.

Thank you Christy and Tim! I do like how high the NH mower lifts however, I'm glad that I didn't go "cheap" when I bought my 1025R, especially at my age I don't want to lay under it to attach the deck and the quick attach loader is a game changer for the forks, grapple etc. regardless the brand. "Been there done that" back in the day.

Great job Tim, I am impressed by your ability to fairly evaluate and make realistic application reviews of all types of equipment. As for your statement about removing and reattaching the mower deck, you are right on. I had a Kubota and the main reason I traded (up) for a JD was the aggravation and effort to remove and replace the deck. And, you must remove the deck for cleaning and sharpening the blades even if you don't remove it for anything else. Since I needed my tractor for many other chores after mowing, I was constantly removing and replacing the deck. Finally, I just gave up and got a JD with Auto-Connect. I always say "JD is user friendly".

I do believe it is easier on the Deer until it gets some age on it then we will see. My bx is a 2004 with over 2000 hours and I have replaced a metal hydraulic line. Never dealt with any new Deer tractors because of dealer In the area sad but without a good dealer tractor isn't worth much in my opinion.

There were many reasons for this. My 'favorite' step was reaching the mid PTO to attach the drive.

I guess when it comes down to the dollars in what you want to spend on a tractor for the ease of exchanging attachments. Yes, the Deree is the best for removing it's mower deck for now . But in time the other brands will catchup, Massey has a drive over mower deck now but still has to hookup pto an front of mower linkage by hand . With the Deree quick attach mower deck my neighbor on his 2017 1025R had to replace the electric engauging clutch an mower deck automatic pto hookup , very ,very expensive!!!!!. There is good a bad with all brands witch you provide in this video . Good job Tim 👍

I have a LS MT122 with a FEL and I leave the loader attached to remove my deck. It lifts the front of the tractor making it easier to remove the deck after disconnecting. Once you’ve removed the deck a time or two you learn the shortcuts. Connect the front bracket before the rear and the PTO. It takes me about 5 minutes to remove and attach. I can connect the FEL in less than 3 minutes. Like anything, practice makes perfect (or at least easier). Love your videos. Keep em coming.

Nice video Tim, I have the NH wm25s I do not have the mower deck or back hoe and if I was going to use a tractor for mowing with a deck I would probably of purchased a deere. I do not use my tractor for mowing and never intended it for such so it wasn't part of my decision process but I did like those feature deere offered. I have no issues taking my loader on and off I can do it in about 3 mins or so. The four lines are easy to do I keep mine clean and have no issues. My bucket does not have the quick attach and but I don't need to switch my bucket. I do not even own another piece to put on the front other than clamp on forks I use 6-10times a year. If I find I do need it, they offer the option and I did considered it at time of purchase but passed and I do not regret it so far. I did put Pat's quick attach on the 3 point and I do switch rear attachments all the time and I am glad I have those. I have bought several used older attachments plus I run a post hole digger so Pat's was the best solution for me. I have ran a Kubota and a deere since I have owned my NH they are all very good tractor and will all get the job done. Thanks for the videos Tim and Christy keep up the great work.

I love Kubota and currently have 3 kubota’s but when I got ready to buy a subcompact the Auto Connect deck was the answer! We cut quite a bit of grass in the summer on weekends and using our ZD326 it takes roughly 3-4 hours. I wanted a multipurpose machine that I could help cut with plus allow me to do other small jobs around the property. When I’m done cutting I remove my mower deck so the tractor is ready to jump on any task I throw at it and John Deere hands down had the best system. The drive over auto connect deck from Deere is the real deal.

I suggested my neighbour ought to purchase the auto connect mower when she purchased a new 1025r. The JD salesman thought otherwise. He steered us to a JD zero-turn that was on sale for just a few hundred dollars more that the auto connect deck price. He claimed it would do a nicer job and, of course it is more maneuverable for mowing than the 1025r. Her yard has a lot of beds and other obstacles, so his point was well taken. Hard to beat the functionality of a dedicated unit.
I still like that auto connect deck though. It's just so cleverly designed!

My FIL purchased a JD1025 before I discovered this and other compact tractor channels. I'm glad he purchased what he did based on his limited research, essentially the drive on and off mower deck. Now because of age and mobility, he doesn't have much to do with the tractor and he has given me permission to expand its capabilities. I see the limitations of the Kubota and New Holland and so glad I don't have to deal with these challenges.

My Grandpa had a GR series kubota deck that mounts the same way. The last year of his life he was mowing 10-15 acres a week of lawns filled with sticks and mole mounds. Blades were often sharpened atleast weekly if not twice a week. Lets say I got the deck removal/install down pat. A hard serface is mandatory. Hook drive shaft, then put the front mount on to get the left/right alignment of the deck and partially the front back alignment correct. Then drob the lift arms, and use a prybar to lift the deck to the liftarms. If you adjust the deck all the way down it might help so you don't habe to lift the deck as much. I do wish they had a position for hooking/unhooking the deck that I put the lift arms on the ground without touching the deck height adjustment. Edit to say that I probably had the removal or install down to around 5 minutes without a hickup.

My wife and I are looking for a place with some land and will be in the market for a subcompact or compact tractor and connectivity is my top priority! The Deere deck system looks hard to beat. But why is it so hard for others to replicate?

Skid-steer quick attach is the way to go vs pin-on... soooo many possibilities; from all sorts of manufacturers. Also, the mounting plates are available for about $100 if you can weld and want to cook up a custom attachment or refit an old attachment.

I notice those vary greatly form one brand to another. Might have to get some guys together to get the equipment you need to pull it off.

The deck install on the Kubota BX is the same as on my Kubota G1800-s. Which is a 1993 build year. I agree with you that I wouldn't want to take it on and off weekly, which is why I kept the G1800 even though I have a BX. I will be reviewing whether to buy a subcompact for mowing as soon as we have grass to cut.

5 years ago I decided I need a small utility. I purchase a new New Holland. I have always been a Deere man, but the New Holland dealership is across from my office. I kept the New Holland for 4 months, and traded it for a Deere. Much what you talked about, the New Holland was very difficult to change Impliments. I love my 3046 Deere. I ordered it with 3 SCV on the rear. Cost me a little money, but so well worth it.,

What a PITA. I still vote for the purpose built zero turn mowing machine for mowing, and a tractor for tractoring. Then you never have to remove the loader or fiddle with the deck. Let's not forget how much dead grass and dust is involved in this operation.

I spent about 1K to put an SSQA on my older Ford New Holland compact tractor, price included a new bucket and a two prong bale spear which doubles as a fork attachment. Best money I ever spent. Now there is never a need to remove the loader, I just leave the attachments off until needed.

I bought the brand new New Holland 25s. No problems with anything so far. Came with the three point arms and back hoe. I think the fact that it has a Yanmar power plant, and is priced right made the decision for me. It is definitely more powerful than the kubota bx23, although that would be expected just based on the specs, I didn't think I would notice it as much as I have. Once again though, the dealer and financing options also play a big part in feeling comfortable letting go of 25k. Don't forget to mention with a new tractor, in twenty years, you probably have more left over to sell and recoup your investment, than if you start with a used machine. It is important to look at your purchase from the perspective of cost of ownership over the period you own it, not just the initial investment. In Twenty years, if I keep it cherry, I will most likely get enough out of it to lower the monthly cost of ownership to between $45 and $55 per month, which seems like a good deal for what it accomplishes around my farm.

The first time we saw that deck in one of your previous videos, I thought it was very similar to the Kubota deck. At first glance it looked nearly identical to the RC72 deck that was on my Kubota F2560 front mower. My biggest hang up with the RC72 deck was the center spindle. The center spindle upper bearing is the lower bearing in the bevel gear box. I bought mine with a worn out lower bearing and in the first day of owning it, it wiped the seal out of the gearbox, draining the gear box oil on the top of the deck, as it appears your blue one is wet around the center spindle as well. There is an exchange with Kubota for gear boxes. In 2011 it was $1100 plus my gearbox if I waned to exchange. I ended up rebuilding my own gear box istead, as it was a cheaper option.

Thanks for mentioning the gearbox issue. On the Deere deck, the upper gearbox is NOT connected directly to the middle blade...I think for that exact reason.

What I have done is made a wooded ramp and I now drive over the deck or back off at the end of the season. Then the front mound blower goes on for the winter. I also have a B2650 Kubota for what other attachments that I need. Quick attach and backhoe. Would like a drive on but that's not going to happen. So only having to do the deck twice a year I can put up with. Nice video Tim

Had My BX a year and done lots of Dirt moving with it with the deck on. Only time I had to take it off was to change the fuel filter which is ( stupidly) underneath and sharpen the blades. That PTO connection looks like a 2 handed job with room for only 1 hand. The whole deck attachment makes a good case for a dedicated mower, use the tractor for tractor stuff.
My Mahindra 1533 has 3 hoses in back for the backhoe. The 2 upper connecters on the tractor are one male, one female. Easy to know which hose on the backhoe connects where. No reason the NH couldn't be changed to be the same.

Coco, it is not as easy to mount/dismount a 3 pt mower as it is the autoconnect mid mount mower on the Deere. And the mid mount is much easier to operate...especially when trimming....and it does a better job, as the rear tires do not run over the grass before cutting.
