Thanks for the video. Looking forward to you doing a video explaining the progym... I'm so clueless of even what you're talking about regarding language and writing.
    All the best

Thank you! I saw the School Sisters course earlier this summer but hadn't done anything about it yet... think I will check it out. :)

Thank you for sharing Joy! It sounds like for MT you are doing your own thing based on what your family needs, or are these items scheduled with CMEC?
    I ❤ Schole Sisters!

It's a total mixed bag. Since I have 4 different Forms, I have to pull for each level to get the group work figured out. I definitely pull from CMEC books, but then I always use Sabbath Mood books for science and always check in with AO to see if I've missed anything beautiful!

@@joycherrick sounds great! I'm pulling from different sources this year too, AO being the main thing but I'm combing my kids for history using All Through the Ages.

I'd love to hear what you think of the CMEC upper years vs AO. We've used AO for four years, then CMEC last year and I decided last minute to go with CMEC again, I love having everyone on the same history. I think you're a couple years ahead of us (my oldest is in 2AU) and I keep thinking we're going to miss out on the AO books, but then I keep hearing how the upper years are really heavy.

Love those AO books - but CMEC uses MANY of the same books as AO bc there is a core of books that are agreed upon as "only the best" i.e. Beowulf etc. They both pull ideas from David Hicks' book Norms and Nobility as far as a book list and schedule. CMEC simply swaps things around to go with the time period and not just basing it on the grade level of one student.
I still pulled many AO books over for my daughter who is doing CMEC Form4 and some AO Y8 books. I should do a video about the "not to miss AO books." AO is a great place to always use as a reference before planning out your full school year. I've found plenty of books my children love from that list. But, with the CMEC, I'm finding MORE fun books that round out our time period for free reads and I love knowing that my kids are learning so much from these stories and are getting a more robust understanding of the time period we are covering together in Morning TIme.

@@joycherrick thank you, I didn't know CMEC pulled from norms and nobility too. I'd love to see your list of not to miss AO books. I find that we are so used to reading a lot that I'm able to use CMEC and add in AO books. I feel like CMEC is a little more age appropriate too in where they place books.

@@LionWolverine I agree with that. My kids are enjoying their free reads much better with the CMEC selections and options. I feel like AO is just a treasure trove of great book recommendations - any bibliophile will never be able to read ALL of them - although my oldest is trying!

    Hey Joy,
Will you have your older kids continue CM-style written narrations while y'all work through progym?

Absolutely! They do daily narrations. These assignments are extra
