This video was so timely because my four-year-old always wants to "do school," and I am looking for something for her for next year; she'll be nearly five at the start of the 24/25 school year. I had a bunch of laundry to fold, and I often peruse your channel to find something to watch and listen to during these tasks! Speaking of which, I hope you return your video cover back to you! The new look, while pretty, looks so much more like a generic Charlotte Mason video, and I have always enjoyed your cheerful and witty covers with you on it! Maybe I am the odd one out, but I am much more drawn to a person!

Love these. We did math U See and swapped to teaching textbooks around.. 4th grade?? My junior is doing algebra 2 this year. But I have a preschooler as well - making notes about this math curriculum!
But my main comment was intended to be about wordly wise - we have used that and easy grammar every year. It’s simple, fast, and engaging.

We love the Good and the Beautiful for Handwriting! And I was one of those weird kids who read the dictionary for fun 😅

I did these Rod and Staff preschool workbooks 25 years ago! I totally forgot about them. Definitely getting these for my four year old, who wants to be doing school like older sister!

I always say im 50/50 CM, we love nature study, narration, copy work, living books, and fitting in a feast of beautiful things, but truly our Math and Language arts is basic traditional style, using *gasp* spiral workbooks 😂

We use those handwriting workbooks too! HWT until teal book and then we start Pentime in 3rd grade. Works perfectly. I also love Adventures in Phonics. They are labeled K-2, but we use them K-4, because they are SO thorough.

We also use the Rod and Staff, just busted out the "about 3" set for my 3 year old because she desperately wanted to be included in table work time. Very interested in Word workbooks, this is great idea. We also use madlibs each week to practice parts of speech but have fun, not sure that counts as workbook but it has been enjoyable for my kids.

We won’t tell, Joy. 🤐😆Solidarity! I also love and use Pentime and the Rod and Staff preschool workbooks. Love Handwriting Without Tears, although my kids call it Handwriting WITH Tears. :) It was encouraging to hear how you willingly submitted to your husband with the vocab books, and didn’t make it a super big deal.

I feel like the Ambleside ladies would have a collective heart attack if I showed them all of the workbooks that I use, even though I still do narration and copy work.

🤣If we are narrating - we should get a gold star and a hall pass, right?

Do you also use beast academy math for your older students or what do you use? 😊

Art of Problem Solving (is the creator of BA) has upper level math. My mathy kids are doing that and love it!

Thanks! I’m going to look into this more. Do you know if beast academy offers a free trial or discount code? Also, do you use just the workbooks or do you combine it with their online math program?

    Haha, Joy! How scandalizing!
