Wasn't able to be paying attention to this stream when it was live but I woke up to an email from UA-cam saying I received another gift membership, so thank you very much to whoever gifted it.
just finished this one, the Kyle with the wordydirds! totes lost his cool there! 😵💫i feel your pain man! there has been many a time since 👾Atari 👾when i was a wee lad and Frogger and Joust where i let fly with the fowl language! "🦆this mother 🦆er! die 🦆er die!" and so forth. i learned lots in this vid, there is another Hill over yonder... a broseph hmm? plus Kyle has been to China and played Quake in a net-cafe there?! when he was 10y/o. danng world traveler in his tweens! 😲 plus all 40ish of the Sciencey Times! thanks Kyle, i've NEVER seen a Half Life vid before, never played it myself either. i'm not a fan of FPS games, but i enjoy watchin em on videos. so HL2 and Eps 1,2 were quite the new experiences for me! i can definitely see why folks would be truly Morton's Salty about not getting another sequel. i keep getting UA-cam video recs of your Onepunchman vid... probably due to all my anime content and watchin alot of your other vids recently, kudos to the YT algorithm! i'm bout to check it out very soon! i still kinda sorta remember your vid about OPM going 'to the moon and back' from Because Science. ;> i hope you go back to Cyberpunk PhanLib and stream it till the end! :D l8r bubba!
1:17:39 Kyle is SIGHTLY wrong about, "Why do i need a sheet/blanket to stay warm in bed even when the room is warm?" LOTS of variables. but! the #1 reason? you are getting colder. when mammals sleep, their core body temps lower, sometimes as much as 3-5 degrees F. this is due to the highly decreased metabolic rate exhibited during the sleep cycle. as mammals begin to fall asleep, their breathing rates lower, pulse lowers, oxygen usage goes down due to decreased calorie/sugar/starch burning in the cells, the capillaries veins and arteries leading to the extremities constrict slightly to keep oxygen rich blood (at lower blood pressures due to the lowered heart rate) in the brain and internal organs. that's why your hands and feet feel colder/cooler while you're relaxing in bed and getting sleepy and when you first wake up. plus, this is why your spouse's feet feel like they're going to give you frostbite when they touch you in bed. also, Kyle is slightly RIGHT as well, heat transfer. most people feel more comfortable going to sleep in a cool room and they don't exhibit 'night sweats' as easily when their bedroom is somewhere between 60degre and 71deg F. cooler air outside the bed grabs the leftover warmth from your cooling sleeping body and increases the rate of heat exchange.
the achievement for saving the buildings is pretty fun and also pretty hard to earn, I manage to pull it off with less than a second left until the strider shoots, but it was fun
I believe the HEV suit is more of like combat armor than being a radiation suit. They are regularly used in Xen, and all users are taught how to use the MP5 and it's grenade launcher before being certified to use the HEV suit.. Additionally, the HECU Marines issue a version of the HEV that's specialized for military combat, as opposed to fighting wild animals.
