I haven't seen any extensions to do the following - maybe you have and you can help: Is there a way to make EVERYTHING INVISIBLE, except, the background image? Can you SELECTIVELY make things invisible as follows; - the SUPERIOR TASKBAR, containing an icon of a disc on the left, the time and date in the middle, and power on/off, plus a few other items, on the extreme right - ROLL UP & OUT OF SIGHT when the mouse moves outside it's boundaries! - the SEARCH BOX in the middle of the screen? - the APPLICATIONS that scroll horizontally? - and, they DOCKER at the bottom of the screen, (like Mac OS), rolling down and out of sight as the mouse leaves its area - as well as, each icon becoming LARGER as it appears to move TOWARDS you, in a convex shape, like Apple? P.S. Can you also add DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS for each WORKSPACE - as well as, a DIFFERENT BACKGROUND for the Applications view?
For making only the background image visible you can try 'Just perfection' extension and for macOS like animation for dock icons try 'Dash2Dock Animated' extension

@@MiloshMiloshMilosh Are you really foolish enough to make this post on a video about GNOME Extensions? I'm typing this from Nobara (Fedora) 41 GNOME. I have to restart Dash to Dock and the Hanabi Extension every time I log into GNOME. Dash to Dock's background doesn't respect my theme settings or any attempts to make it translucent and is just plain black on login. The Hanabi Extension stutters while playing a live wallpaper on login. Restarting the extensions after login "fixes" the problem, at least until the GNOME Shell crashes, which seems to happen at least once every other hour, or until the next login. The GNOME Shell also crashes/locks up when playing a simple mp4 file. I don't have any of these issues with KDE Plasma. Live (video) wallpapers, my transparent panel, and mp4 videos work flawlessly under KDE Plasma on the same computer. I also only average about one Plasma Shell crash every other week.
@@MiloshMiloshMilosh KDE dev team is constantly working on fixing them. Newer versions of Plasma have way fewer bugs than it used to (and maybe fewer than you would expect based on your past experiences). However, when it comes to bugs, extensions on other IDEs introduce a bunch of them, too. With the downside that the main DE development team won't take care of them, it's up to the extension provider.
Sir, my laptop has Windows 11, 8GB RAM, and a 512GB SSD and processor is ryzen 5 u series. I installed Ubuntu on it, but when I run multiple applications like VS Code, Brave with 15 tabs, Docker, and other programs, it provides a very laggy experience. What could be the issue? Do I need to upgrade my RAM or is there any other problem? Please guide me
yes upgrading RAM would be beneficial there. Check htop or your system monitor if you have SWAP enabled. VS Code , Brave are electron apps / or chromium based, hence they are very RAM hungry in particular

Sometimes extensions might stop working, especially after a new update. But most developers fix them pretty quickly. And hey, some even keep working just fine without needing any changes!
Thanks and would appreciate more such content

You could try going to specific apps and check if they are set to dark mode and not system default.
@akingbayiojo4609 Thanks, my issue was solved, by help of copilot. Through some terminal codes.
same problem with, i set it to dark mode, now enabling light mode is not working, same goes for color in appearances too,

Finally someone with sound recommendation and not making video for the sake of making videos.
Good thing that KDE has all of this built in ;)
And you don't have to worry about version
Plus kde has bugs baked right in (;

@@MiloshMiloshMilosh Yes. because GNOME and its extentions are bug free?

Forge is unmaintained. PaperWM is a great replacement tho
Thanks for the info! I'll check out PaperWM.
Are you sure? Seems to be similarly updated
@@cesarfilho97 It says it's unmaintained in the repo.
Forge doesn't show and neither does PaperWM. Any other extension that can do the same thing?

How did you get your mouse to look like that? I noticed you're on Ubuntu, and i like how your mouse looks.
Nice wallpaper. Where to get this wallpaper?
