@@livnyposting maybe from a networking safety perspective, I'm looking to create a simple server on the PI and need to expose an API, so something about securing it etc.
Love finding other students with similar interests, I was thinking about running NixOS with a blach arch VM for malware analysis & CtFs outside of my usual classwork
0:10 I've been looking for AGES for that video in the intro of the guy dancing in front of the servers and I forgot what it was called. Did a Google Image search and finally found it. It's called Install Gentoo. Holy shit, thank you so much.
damn bro I honestly didn't understand a single thing in this video but im so interested, I'm somewhat considering learning cybersecurity and maybe having it as my career path but i'm freshly out of high school so I want to weigh my options first
I am still in uni but this is (hopefully) my last year and I am specialising in cybersec and software development (trying to get into code that requires following ISO guidelines and alike for consulting too) and this video is just awesome man, immaculate vibes! After seeing your setup, I wonder if you would recommend a Macbook considering I also want to do some software dev as well? I currently have a Victus that uses dual boot (Windows/NixOS, the latter I daily drive and only use Windows when I have to lol) and I do plan on keeping it, but i've also been giving thought on saving up for a Macbook in the future. I know the tool doesn't make the professional, but it's just such a nice machine it's hard to ignore lol Hope to see more from you man, that intro is fucking awesome lmao
This is very similar to my experience, I am also near done with my cybersecurity degree, and I plan to master in Computer Science. As for the MacBook, I’d say go for it. If you are to spend good money on a laptop, it’s the only sensible option. In my universe, it’s either a cheap used thinkpad/craptop or a MacBook, no in between! Thank you for watching.
@livnyposting That's awesome man! Best of luck with your degrees 💯 Really like the thought behind which laptop to go for; I have very similar thoughts about what/where to invest in and the Macbook just looks like that option that can get me the most bang for my buck (despite how stupid expensive one with very good specs can be lmao). Best wishes bro, hoping to see some more vids soon! :)
Awesome video, but I'd really invest in a sag bracket for your GPU. Assuming the PC's case was level with the ground, the GPU seems to be sagging down.
that t420 has a replacement IPS display, otherwise I can't use that for more than an hour, it's less blue in real life than it is on camera but it's super blue

bro. i like the video and all. and i know its just taste. but blue switches? if you really like clicky then check out the kailh navy blue or white owls, but those sound atrocious. anyway love the video.
Windows bloat for sure. Just updated my PC from an i7 7700k and GTX 1060 3gb with windows 10 to a 14th gen intel with 4060 running windows 11. The new setup feels more lethargic than the old PC and I've been trying to close down and remove unnecessary operations/software but performance is not much better. Need to learn Linux this year and change things up. All this is new to me as I'm green as Irish grass regarding hardware and software customization.
Windows 11 is especially unoptimized and performs poorly on good hardware. Try out Fedora, or a debian based distro, such as Debian, Mint, Ubuntu MATE if you’re very new and want to get comfortable.
No offense, but to me personally, carrying multiple device just to avoid the smartphone, is unsensible. You wasted time carrying them and making sure that they are charged.
