You guys honestly do great work! Even though I don’t have any of the vehicles you own I really enjoy watching you guys work. Attention to detail with the explanation of parts and execution is awesome! #detailsmatter!
Pete & Dave, you guys are the best! Super chill, nice & killer mechanics! Excellent job with the videos & music and editing. Like they said b4, you should have a tv show! Your that good! Your pros all the way.
Thanks for the episode, good fuel system on the engine. I am not entirely sure the single 340 lph pump with the factory feed line to the filter will be good enough for 1000 hp, it may be a good idea to add a fuel pressure sensor to the fuel rail to keep an eye on it. Good to see Ken back on the channel too, hope to see some more rotary stuff on the channel in the future!
Later dodge ram's make a filler neck that you can from Lordco and connect those two hoses. I'm running that with my engine in my car, and it works great. I will see if I can dig up the part# for you.
Thanks for doing this video! I've seen other brands with PTFE but did not know if it was the same procedure. Now i can go do my PTFE power steering line for my evo!
Like seeing how this coming along. I would definitely say to use a single shaft on this less moving parts, swap the intake manifold out vs trying to dent in the brake booster, and look into a 2JZGTE VVTi Wiring Harness for BMW E46 - CANBUS PRO SERIES makes this easier. But looking great guys
Interesting you aren't using a fuel pulse damper with that size injector, I'd recommend it, I added one into mine after some odd fuelling issues on the Dyno, cleared it right up and fits nicely in the bottom of the rail on my k series.
Go for the swirlpot. I've been watching a lot of 1jz and 2jz engine build videos lately and one of them mentioned that it helps to keep the engine temperatures in place when you have one. someone can correct me if I'm wrong. trying to learn new stuff everyday
Not sure what it's like on the E46 but in my S52 E36 if I was around half fuel and cornering hard my cat would starve for fuel, you may want to consider Holley hydramat etc
It is my opinion that you guys are gonna run out of fuel pump before reaching your horsepower goals. But I'll hold my breath until we see the dyno results
Those long injectors you’ve used wont fit with the standard vvti intake manifold and e-throttle. You need the short size. I’ve used the same radium rail on my Supra
VVTi 2JZs - GE or GTE don’t have EGR valves, that block off plate is for the earlier non VVTi models. Still a good plug for radium but irrelevant in this case.
Wow 1000 unreliable hp with a single 345lph pump, think about it I'm running 2 walbro 525lph pumps and one 325lph lift pump! This build has some massive lol moments!
@@heyhayhay247 So a potentially 1000hp system, hahaha lol like most cars with larger lines and injectors! Good try on the justification, potential and actual are worlds apart...
@@BUZDRIFT They're one fuel pump away from everything they need. Rail, regulator, filters, and lines are all ready for their growth if they want it. No need to put a bigger fuel pump in to a car that may never use it.
so you really thinking with the oem fuelline from the pump to the fuel filter you could make 1000hp ? noooooooooooooooope! ouh and never drive with a fueltank filles less then half without a catchtank.
LOL you can set it up either way, with a standalone ECU and a properly sized fuel system a returnless setup is cleaner and simpler and works perfectly.
It's been so long since you uploaded m3 content that I forgot there was a 2j in the engine bay.
You guys honestly do great work! Even though I don’t have any of the vehicles you own I really enjoy watching you guys work. Attention to detail with the explanation of parts and execution is awesome! #detailsmatter!
Make a note Peter...the most efficient filters block very very quickly.....especially o older cars with dirty tanks.
That’s a lot of baller fuel parts. Keep it up fellas
Man I love seeing Radium parts. Premium and quality units.

Matching the fuel pump to your hoodie colors. "You got to coordinate!" RIP John Witherspoon.
Love you guys videos! Very good angles, very good explanations. Im currently beginning a 2J swap myself
Speedflow is another company that makes full flow bends and have done for many years. It's Australian made.

baller spec indeed. I like to order my injectors like i get my beer... 24 at a time.
"Never go in dry." These guys really are lubrication experts.
This episode only feels like it's 2 minutes.
Man u gotta be on Speed it's like 20 min

I like this series so much.
is that why i can't get no hose?...cause Dave has "ALL THE HOSE IN THE WORLD!"...Damn such a playa💪😏

That’s a neat looking oil cooler.
Bout time bro I been waiting like a month
Lots more episodes coming over the next few weeks
You could say that more politely. You're able to watch great videos for free, they don't owe us anything. ✌️
Valentin Maissen y u gotta do all that for I appreciate the videos I just don’t like the wait but hey u can’t please everyone
10AN is total overkill, but the AEM 50-1200 probably won't even make 500 wheel horsepower on E85. A bit of a mismatch here, guys.
Have to say it, Dave is one heck of a handsome guy!
Get a tool to unscrew the fuel tank cap !!
AEM fuel pump consumes a lot of current, is very hot and melts.
Set Walbro to 400 liters !!!
The non-m e46's have the expansion tank at the radiator where you have that plastic 90 deg bend.
This is jdm 2jz it doesn't need EGR block kit because it never uses it
Good stuff guys glad to see the killer!! back lol 👍👍
Aeroflow in Oz been offering full flow fittings for the past 2 years.
am i the only one that actually wants to see you guys doing the work more even if you 4ward through it
This was a talk heavy episode, but the good news is the next few episodes shows a TON of work being done, lots of really cool fabrication work.
Awesome...i cant wait
Ken wagon !!!! I miss him and his jokes
Interesting you aren't using a fuel pulse damper with that size injector, I'd recommend it, I added one into mine after some odd fuelling issues on the Dyno, cleared it right up and fits nicely in the bottom of the rail on my k series.
Good to know. We’ll add one on.

Easy coolant hose solution, get a joiner with a filler neck in it.
You need a metal fuel filter if you want to run E85, you need to change it before running or it will clog.
Chase Bays do a whole heap of steering and coolant solutions for 2J swap into the E46
When are we going to get a peak at Ken's 2JZ M3 Killer?
It will be interesting to see your fuel temps on that larger hose.
Bout fuckin time...
PTFE is literally my god.
Fuel pump is super easy, I had to do that job in a Walmart parking lot after my oem pump decided to die lol
I know you guys are not street racers, but you better do some drag sessions with this to see how it compares rolling.
Not sure what it's like on the E46 but in my S52 E36 if I was around half fuel and cornering hard my cat would starve for fuel, you may want to consider Holley hydramat etc
The vvti 2jz gte does not need an egr block off plate, they did not have egr on then.
If I could afford that radium set up I would mount it the trunk so it could be seen 🤑🤑
I'd say swirl pot. Seen that work well over on other channels
Finally another episode 😃😁😂
Are you going for low key aero or 90’s JDM big wing like the Mercedes Evolution?
More of Ken please 😉
I vote you do a swirl pot!
You should have changed the hose in the fuel pump holder it’s not e85 compatible. Just makes all your other e85 compatible parts a waste of time
Just left the new Papadakis video on building a BMW engine for a Toyota to come watch the Speed Academy video on building a Toyota engine for a BMW.
It is my opinion that you guys are gonna run out of fuel pump before reaching your horsepower goals. But I'll hold my breath until we see the dyno results
Definitely. I’m guessing they switch to a walbro 450 or a double pump setup when everything is said and done.
PT's got hose for days.
If you're looking for a swirl pot ask Rob over at TracTuff. He usually does Honda stuff but does lots of custom things as well.
Swirl pot is the way to go
Damn -10 I'm usually running -8 with 700-800 rwhp hemis.
Let's be real guys!!! Go 85!!!
So BMW has a return less fuel system. Did you guys make this jz fuel lines the same design as BMW?
FYI - Aeroflow Performance has had full flow fittings for a while now.
I see BMW put R2D2 in the fuel tank
11:02 nice

I think they make hose joiners with filler necks built in? I could be talking rubbish though hahahahah
Nice!!
I think I should mention that you use the phrase "I should mention" a lot.
Hahaha, I did use it 1 million times this episode, for some reason. I should mention that I'll try to never say that again.
@@speedacademydave Embrace it, get a "I should mention" counter on the screen
Alec Siegel 😂
@@speedacademydave "I should mention" that these words would make for some merch that would likely be a hit haha
Lol @ Only company in the world making full flow AN fittings. Is this video from 1996 or never heard of Speedflow?
4:54 perfect colour match with the slip angle hoodie
Last time I was this early the Ass2000 was running :/
Is that factory hose in the fuel pump E85 compatible?
Are you guys gonna use the stock intake?
Damn, I wished you had kept the S54
What happened to the Moose summer build?
You guys not gonna change front suspension bushings? Not gonna change that rusty front swaybar?
Yes, we have all those parts coming.
@@speedacademy i love your videos. Admire them really. Keep it up guys. Looking forward to the evo too👍
If your going to use that rusty stablelizer at least paint it or better still have it powder coated. Cheers fella's🇨🇦
The nut of the PTFE hose end should be held in the soft jaws on the vice, not the hose. That was hard to watch.
You sure about that...

Literally said they weren't shooting for 1000hp at 13:50. The goal is more like 600.
@@heyhayhay247 They Literally say/ state on thumb that it's 1000hp capable, was just saying you won't get there with a single 350lph pump, believe me!

I thought e85 required PTFE lines?
so you really thinking with the oem fuelline from the pump to the fuel filter you could make 1000hp ? noooooooooooooooope! ouh and never drive with a fueltank filles less then half without a catchtank.
i hope you guys flushed your lines b4 the final install
