Bought one of your build yourself kits and it's great you are doing these videos. Pls keep adding more videos as Its a massive help for me to build it right. Keep up the good work 👍
So I hate you... for not doing this in depth series when I first started doing this 5 years ago. :) Though I did get a LOT from you back then this is an excellent in depth series. And honestly I'm sure that even 50 build later I'm going to pick up some new things. Can't recommend this series enough.
Thanks..this is something we've been meaning to do for ages, but pressure of time has meant we've had other things to do. However, we've decided to make the time rather than let it drift on without doing it. This series is the basics for putting together a guitar, but we'll probably expand on it to go into more detail in future.
Late to the party, I know, but I recently discovered B&Q sell white oak staircase newel posts: 41x41x900mm, planed for less than £8. Perfect for a one-piece neck and heel! I bought one for my 1st CBG and the offcuts from it gave me pieces I can also make my saddle & fretboard from.
Just to add my experience with clamping wood pieces together, I agree. I always over-tighten my clamps and the joints have never suffered from "glue starvation". The result is you can't find the glue line. Crank it down, I say!
Hi CBJ. Good vids. A suggestion that would be helpful; pleas6 add a number indicating the order of progress in the title. I keep having to poke and stop looking for the next one in the series.
i m beginning to build mine, thanks for the tips!!!
Cool stuff! I like all the details you go into.
Started my build this morning. My neck is glued and clamped!

Fantastic video John, can’t wait for the next part.
Brilliant, looking forward to part 2
Thanks for this John! Btw, I really like how you have your wire organized underneath.
Thanks John
