Making a Cigar Box Guitar with ChickenboneJohn - Part 2 tidying-up the neck joint

After you've glued-up the neck and backstrap you'll need to clean up the joint. If you've done a nice tidy glue-up you might only need to sand it... a simple enough job, but there's some handy hints about securing your work to the bench and ensuring you get nice even finish even for this simple task.. We'll also introduce the idea of using a plane to clean-up a glue joint. In this series of videos we will be concentrating on traditional hand-tool working - no expensive or dangerous power tools or specialist gear, just cheap and simple tools. Don't be afraid of setting-up and using a plane - it's a basic tool that every woodworker needs to get to grips with. Learning to use one will set you in good stead for the future...and besides, it's safe, quiet and ecologically sound!

Good job John. You can also run it back through the table saw and just skim the length of the neck and neck block. Love your stuff your video on 'Gotta Move" got me started ages ago. (Sentinel Guitars, Bozeman MT)
