Not even close! The 2018 chevrolet traverse is the perfect size for a crossover suv. This honda just look very outdated with features. The layout is by no means a leading class of its category.
One of the most reliable vehicles on the road! I still see 2010 and older models on the road still going strong! Can’t go wrong with a Honda!
If Honda can add the power tilt/telescoping in the Elite or Black Edition and change the fake exhaust tips to the Passports, I'm in.
Have the 2024 Touring and absolutely love this vehicle. I’d buy another in a heartbeat.

Just traded in my 2009 Pilot in for this 2025! My 2009 got me 191k miles but I figured it was time to upgrade it. Nothing lasts like a Honda!!
Great review of a fantastic vehicle. Just bought a 2025 Pilot Black Edition in Red. Luv it, great three-row SUV. No issues so far, everything works very well. Still learning all its features. But I made a great choice in purchasing the Honda over other Toyota Highlander, Grand Highlander, Hyundai Palisade, Kia Telluride, and others.
Does the engine still have the VCM feature? Thats feature sucks.

For a 2025, it sure look more like a 2015 interior. Very outdated and funky layout.

I personally liked the chrome and especially the rims on the Touring / Elite trim much more - personal preference. We bought a red Touring ... to us the Black Edition was not worth the $1800. Although, I liked the red highlighting on the seats.
I have the first model 2019 year of the Elite Edition (black_rare). I have the one that only a few Prime Dealers had for their showroom floor. They would not release this to me until December 2019 just after the 2020 came out. Mine has every option you can think of plus the Urban Package. My wife loves this Passport and it has low mileage (60k)(23,9 at Autotrader)
Overall, Honda has done a great job on both interior and exterior. Personally, I wish it had a larger size screen display. I may consider buying one and this is exactly my favourite colour for the black edition. By the way, I am in Canada 😅
Telluride/palisade is an option
I thought the same thing but it’s actually nice being on the smaller side. It’s still easy to navigate and do whatever you want without it being a distraction. I have a 2024 Touring and love it!

seems like Honda just wanted to raise prices so releasing the next model year already, unchanged. Selling the Canadian BE in the USA now.

A feature I can just rip it right off as useless. I really couldn't care less for name badge.
It's missing a full sized spare tire. I don't know if a full sized spare can fit underneath in the rear where the temporary spare is stored. The storage box for the 2nd row middle seat might be taking up the space under it where a full sized spare could have been placed. I would also like to see a trailer hitch included as standard equipment. And bring back the stick for the transmission. And how about more interior color options.
The full size spare tire is underneath the car. Theres a crank that lowers it.

Hopefully a hybrid and a 360 camera.

One of my fav feature of the pilot was the back window being open without the truck being open. I don’t see that in this model!
Accord has 12 inch infotainment, but pilot has 9 inch?
My sister just bought a Ford explorer timberland edition and a feature she has that I would love to see on my future black edition is the illuminated entry, it's so cool
Honda does offer an illuminated logo pattern projector as an option. They also have an illuminated door sill trim as an option as well.
I bought my 2025 Honda pilot black edition yesterday, woohoo. I love it. I'm hoping I can get the things u mentioned still put on.

I have a '22 White Black Edition and have ordered the '25 Red Black Edition. The only thing I will miss is the DVD player for my grandkids. I wish they still offered it.
Love everything on this Honda SUV except the size of the gas tank: too small. 60k, modern , built for travel vehicle should not make its driver worry if they can make it to the next gas station.

Great products 👌. Love the wheel and tire package. Put a 2 inch lift kit on all Honda truck style vehicles ground clearance matters with SUVs and trucks. Personal colored seats should be available as a choice due to demand/deposits... also But honda needs a better top trim engine 😮 now in to upgrade the screen size also add head rest screens for those who have kids that travel along.

I agree with the resolution, though it is still easy to read. It just looks outdated. The navigation does come on the touring trim and above. I believe the resolution appears better on the 9" screen as well. I hope they utilize their 12" screen in the 2026 model year.
Not particularly interested in the Black edition, but if possible would like to replace our old CR-V (2002) with a new Pilot. Only misgiving is the VCM deactivation, which seemingly can't be disabled without unauthorized modifications.
So they made the 2024 model for only a half year?? Did they add a gear shift back? I refused to buy a third gen because of this. Don't people like to keep their right hand on the gear shifter when driving? What's the deal with the rear window no longer able to be opened? Disappointed with Honda perhaps a 2026 mid generation year refresh will bring a better version of the Pilot.
I think most people would like not having a gear shift after a week of driving this and getting used to it. I purchased a 2015 Acura MDX new and the first without a gear shift and now I have a 2019 Honda passport with no gear shift. I love it and it seems normal and better to me. The rear window in the Pilot, Passport and MDX never opened. I also had a 2005 Pilot for10 years. I'll buy again.
Screen is too small for me. Might grab a Highlander instead.

@@melanieflorida Well a small display makes it harder to see and navigate. So in this case, it’s likely more distracting to have it abnormally small.

No matter what the screen size is, Honda should be ashamed for releasing a product with that cheap plastic bezel on the dashboard that surrounds the screen. People paying 50k plus for an expensive vehicle deserve a screen and dashboard that fit together properly.
Honda is flipping off their customers by designing the dashboard to fit the upcoming larger screen, but then slapping the remaining stock of their smaller lower quality screen and cheap plastic bezel inside. I guarantee Honda planned this on purpose to get rid of their remaining small screens before adding the larger 12 inch screen on the 2026 refresh.
I am not sure, why they are making these Pilots lower than the Grand Highlanders and others. (even the Passport sibling) . It's much nicer ot have a 8.3 clearance than 7.3. I believe the trailsport is a better buy but it has no navigation more MPG etc. (for this you have to go to a passport trailsport - this is non-sense, why would one have the nagivation and the other wouldnt ????) I would love to see the ELITE with the 8.3 clearance. That would be nice to have.
Honda why is this called black edition when you have chrome?? This is not a true black edition if it was there wouldnt be any chrome!!Same thing with the exhaust tips they should be black not chrome all badging should be black not chrome.. this guy is looking right at the chrome Honda emblem and the black edition sign and says there’s no chrome. Hello it’s chrome.. I have a bigger gas tank and my jeep grand Cherokee. This should have a larger gas tank at least 23 gallons minimal. You forgot to mention the fog lights. The screen should not be sticking up as high that actually looks stupid. A lot of car manufactures are doing this. Electronic shifter & parking brake is not a good idea. They should remain mechanical.

Why are all manufacturers deleting the CD/dvd options. That should still be optional 😮. Also why is there no original shifter . What if the beverages spill in the area of where those buttons are

The Honda 3.5L Engine has a problem with the lifter and camshaft design.
They should put a second wireless charger…your passenger will have a phone and there is space………it’s dumb and just cheap not to have it.

Every bulb in the rear should be LED!!!! Incandescent rear turn signals and reverse lights are just dumb especially with all the LEDS In the front! Having said that I would buy this car because it’s one of the few cars left with a naturally aspirated V6 without the turbo foolishness.
IMO the raido placements of the new vehicles are ridiculous looking.

Those slide shade are the most idiotic feature to ever implement into a vehicle. That's the first garbage to fail and getting ripped. Window tinting would've been the better way to go, period.

I'd much rather pay for the reliability of a vehicle than extra tech crap, but that's just me. If you want Hyundai or Kia because of technology, then buy Hyundai or Kia.

@@stutterbox36 that is true, but some of us are more likely to shy away from vehicles loaded with tech. If I could buy a new car without all the new technology (obnoxious screens, cameras, and whatever else I've been driving just fine without) then I would. I'm not even an older individual, but I'd be extremely happy to not have to deal with any of that. I've avoided purchasing a new vehicle for some time now because of the tech, but my ol girl isn't gonna last forever. BTW, I owned 2 Kias in the past, and I would not buy another. I'm sure Honda will jump on the whole super technology thing gradually, I just hope it's after I purchase a new Pilot.
But Hyundai/Kia need more cutting edge electronics to act as cover for their crappy engine/drivetrains.
