It’s not that strange or even mysterious. He’s become entitled and ungracious to anyone that succeeds in what he sees as his rightful place. It’s causing him to say things he never would have before, and more to the point, do things ON TRACK that he never would have before. Number 8 will always elude him now that this attitude has taken root.

The last few days I'm getting the idea that Valtteri Bottas is one of the greatest of all time 😅 If so, he would at least currently crush Zhou like Alonso is doing with Stroll. Furthermore Hamilton's winning streak has been interrupted by Vettel, Kimi, LeClerc, Ricciardo, Perez (in a pink car, but now apparently he’s rubbish), Gasly and Verstappen. That list is far too long to doubt Verstappen's superiority over Hamilton any longer. And the joke is, everyone knows this deep down, it just hurts some people too much to admit it right now. Looking back, no sane person will doubt this…

Do you watch F1 at all or just drive to survive? Lewis wasn't at the race Perez won in his pink Mercedes and had it not been for the mistake in the pits from the works Mercedes team either Russell of Bottas would have won it
@@downingT365 FYI I've never seen an episode of drive to survive. I don't mean to say that Lewis would lose 1 on 1 to Perez. The point is that for whatever reason Lewis and Mercedes couldn't continue the streak and allowed a much weaker team/driver to win. Whether you blame COVID-19 in 2020 or Lewis himself, for example for screwing over Nico in Barcelona 2016, allowing Max to win, the fact remains that Lewis did not win.
My main point was: Lewis won his titles against Bottas. Bottas is a relatively weak driver who could hardly beat Verstappen in his redbull. You can say whatever you want, but that's just a fact.
@@yskr0102 wrong. Completely and utterly wrong. You must just be new to the sport... Lewis won two of his titles against Nico before Nico won in 2016. Who admitted he had to retire because he couldn't keep doing what he had to do to beat Lewis. It left him completely drained. He had to sacrifice a lot to win that title him especially when it came to his family and home life. The interview is available to read all you need to do is Google it.
He fought against the current (at the time) double world champion in his rooky season and left him feeling like he had no other option but to leave the team and return to where he came from. He may have not won a title due to the car he had at the time, but again had the current at the time world Champion for a teammate in Button who was no slouch himself.
Botta was a panic acquisition because Nico dropped the bombshell he would he retiring at the awards ceremony without giving the team the time to cherry pick who they wanted. But he was still quick and kept Lewis honest. He'd have won a heck of a lot more races and probably a couple of titles if it weren't for Lewis' relentless form. Bottas could be quick on his day, beat Lewis to pole on a number of occasions and said himself he just couldn't keep up with Lewis and his consistency over the course of a season.
Tell me, who has Max's strongest teammate been? He's not really had one since Danny Ric who beat him twice out in three seasons. But Max was still a bumper car playing teenager at the time so can be given a bit of slack there. Aside from that, RB have pretty much stuck rookies to go alongside him whilst building the car around him so he has little to no competition. Even Perez was picked because he was a better option for the team to help them achieve more points in the constructors, would never come close to beating Max over a season, but could help him win his titles it's as simple as that.
I lost count of the amount of times he moved out of the way or played moving roadblock for Max in 2021. Max wouldn't have won that title without Perez in the other car it's also that simple.
I'm sure you'll tell me Bottas did the same for Lewis. He did yes, but it wasn't as often as people make out and he got left for dust when he did. Lewis would more than likely still have won the titles he did without that help. He even gave Bottas a win back as a thank you. Can't see Max ever doing that can you?
He's had plenty of opportunities to do it too. He even was asked by the team to let Perez through last season when he was miles ahead of anyone in the points and they were chasing a 1-2 and he flatly refused. So not only was he gifted the 2021 title in a contrived situation on the final lap of the final race in circumstances demanded by the team, he had then as he always has, a car built specifically for him rather than one that both drivers can exploit, a team mate that was eager to please to get a new contract (Perez was signed on for a single season in 2021) and outside assistance from the race director under instruction from Horner... 2021 World Champion with the biggest asterisk you've ever seen.
There's no denying Max has an immense amount of talent and is really making the most of it right now. But he's all too arrogant with it and had no competition from within his team, ever... they will never risk upsetting both him and his bang average living vicariously dad by not giving them what they want.
What I'd really love to see, although it goes against the traditions of the sport, is Newey given the job by F1 of designing a single chassis and possibly floor for the entire grid and for the teams to use whatever other parts, engine, gearbox, aero bits etc they wanted to. It won't happen because then it would become a semi-spec series which is not what F1 is about. I think it would make it a lot fairer though because Newey is a genius, the Einstein of F1 car design. He has more, poles, wins, drivers and constructors titles than most teams have put together and I'm surprised and disappointed the man hasn't been knighted yet. He deserves to have Sir in front of his name. We
That's not the point though. Lewis has had to work for every single one of his titles bar maybe 2020 when he'd beaten Bottas to the point he lost some pace and maybe enthusiasm which definitely showed badly in 2021. Max has had all the help in the world and will continue to have it until someone else builds a championship winning car or RB loses their edge (or Newey) at which point he will drop them like a microphone at the comedy club.
@@yskr0102 and as for 2016, you'll probably find if you watch the season review Nico screwed Lewis over more than the other way round lol. And had it not been for mechanical or electrical failures / retirements, Lewis would have won that season too. He retired from the lead at least once but I'm sure it was more than that and certainly from high points scoring positions.
The fact, is Lewis is the most complete driver F1 has ever seen taking into account everything from outright pace, to consistency and to sportsmanship and beyond. The 2016 season finale aside 😂 but let's be honest, we'd have all backed Nico into the pack to try to win the title and Max would have likely taken it a step further and break tested him. He's done it before lol.
I honestly wish Max and Horner were more likable people. But they really aren't. One beyond arrogant and has had everything he's wanted or needed handed to him and the other is almost as arrogant and would win consecutive gold medals world titles for winging if it were a sport.
Lewis had to fight his way to the top right from the beginning and fight to stay there against teammates and drivers in other teams. Max was inserted into the god like status he's been given at RB and the only person he's had to fight is Lewis.
This may all change with time but I highly doubt it and that's the nuts and bolts of it.

Hamilton should be more worried about his much younger teammate that often ahead of him. It’s easy to take shots at the Guy that’s on top and I don’t believe Hamilton was ever as dominant as Max has been this season. And it is Max that’s dominant because the veteran driver in the other Red Bull can’t even get close most of the time.

You forget that Max and RB were basically making protests week-in, week-out, crying about leaving F1, and making some threat or the other all the time.

@@mostlikelyjum8533 Red Bull were found to be cheating on the pit stops, instead of a fine and being docked points, they got given extra time to sort it out. Mercedes asked and got denied, that's not the same thing, plus this was in response to the FIA mandating a rule that benefitted Red Bull by purposefully hampering Mercedes, they enforced a cut out in the floor that ruined the Mercedes Aero but they new it wouldn't harm the Red Bull aero because of their elevated rake design which doesn't work that way.

redbull and max have earned everything they have and its amazing. but for the future I just hope that system evolves to promote closing gaps between teams as opposed to widening them.

Albon is doing a phenomenal job at Williams. Gasly carried AlphaTauri to a great season in 2021 and is doing well at his new team at Alpine. Perez was one of the outstanding performers on the grid at Force India/Racing Point. It's only when they come up against Max that they struggle.

All of these comments, reports and personal opinions are primarily click bait to keep the interest and fan engagement alive. Similar comments have come from both teams at different times. None of it really matters. It is entertainment.
On the face of it, it's just a dick comment from Lewis, but when you look at their histories lewis had Fernando, Button, and Rosberg, all F1 world champions. Valteri was at least able to push him in the odd race and even outqualify him occasionally and I dont think anybody questions the potential or competency of Russell....
The only true rival max has ever had was Danny Ric. Watching the two of them race and push each other, with such different styles and techniques was fantastic! No other teammate has ever had the ability or the opportunity to actually test Max like that. Sadly I dont think we'll get it again either. Max and the RB cars have both evolved together to such a perfect degree, that no teammate will have the opportunity to actually test him in the foreseeable future😢
So yea, still a dick thing to say publicly about your rival, but deep down there is a strong element of truth in the comment!

Lewis Hamilton has always been a namby-pamby when he loses. He whined when Nico won (his) World Championship. He "crybabied" when Max beat him in Abu Dhabi (even though 1) Max had no control over how the race was run; and 2) Max's tires were waay fresher than Lewis'. Then, last year, he got away with the BIGGEST BS move, in F1 history, when he almost killed Max at Copse at Silverstone.
