My bro JCDSOUND also review'd this LP:
• Nails - "Unsilent Deat...
Coming in second only to Little Women's Throat, this album is the most abusive thing I've heard all year. It's pure, unadulterated testosterone. It's the kinda stuff that makes a perfect soundtrack to taking your shirt off and punching anything and everything withing arm's length.
Over the course of this LP's 10 tracks, the band alternates ideas from hardcore, thrash, and grind. The breakdowns fit snugly against the flurries of drums and grinding guitar, too.
I know I've given this a high score, but still want to say this album is not for everyone. It's only going to attract a very specific music fan: Someone who looks to put some real volume and intensity in their speakers. This thing isn't light-hearted or friendly by any means. If tooth-gnashing aggression is not what you want, then stay away from this thing. Far away.
What do you think of this album? Love it? Hate it? Why?

watching some classic vintage needledrop
+Christian Toomey respekt
It's even more vintage now. I like how the aesthetic is even more vintage than 2010 tbh
Yes
damn you're now 6 years older, crazy
@@DrivenAgony ur 1 month older, AMAZIN!
Can't believe he used to call his fans needledrops
Or the description the “dbox”????
over 9000 subs thats crazy!!!
"Over 9,000 of you"
Yeah about that...
Little guy didn't see his cultural boom coming.
@Lord Takyon He's just a little T H I C C
I mean, it's still true
This review is almost half as long as the album
Some of his reviews of this band actually PASS the length of some of their releases like the EP and Full Of Hell split
0:58 "there's over 9,000 of you"
ten years later two MILLION people love you, melon
Fr
wow congrats on 15 subs melon.
This has Eric Andre quality
This is actually proto-Eric Andre.
“Throbbing” “thick” “filthy” I’m sold, melon
lmfao my needle drops
10 years later, this is STILL one of the heaviest albums ever made, with Nails being THE heaviest band in the world
I do think there's heavier bands but they're definitely one of the most extreme and energetic
The album cover says it all
You don’t listen to music
You must've barely gotten into hardcore or metal if you think that. You're a newjack.
Far from it. Crowbar, primitive man, portal, meshugga, suffocation, meth drinker, scour, aborted, dying fetus. Those are the heaveist bands ever.
"should have any terror song shaking in its camo shorts"
Damnit Fantano, we need some classic grind reviews like Prowler in the yard
That album is LEGENDARY
Randomly decided to watch this vid and saw this comment...
For real!! Prowler is like best Grind album ever and you never see GOOD reviews by anyone legit! Terrifier too!
I do like Adam Jarvis, PD's current drummer, but dude Brian Harvey is an absolute MONSTER on Prowler and Terrifier!! Think he quit to be a land surveyor too lol?? He's prob my fav drummer ever and I could run into him on a job site
Grind from the 90's is hardly classic grind. Also, Prowler In The Yard is so overrated by metal dorks, since it was reviewed in all the metal dork publications. Grindcore is a hardcore subgenre, leave it to the hardcore experts to call it classic or not, not metal fans.
Terrifier better
"my needle drops"
Youre still succeeding in your original goal, Anthony. Just went and listened to the album. DAMN, THAT SHIT RULES HARD!!! Instant fan
U still alive
@@Romeo-le2ez Probably more alive now than when I wrote this comment.
You’re a legend💀

@ibanez456189 well, SL is about to reissue it. it's actually out now on six feet under recs / streetcleaner recs. i grabbed it last night on six feet under's site for 6 bucks. NICE FUCKING PRICE!
@boogster123321 there are others. gonjasufi, lcd sound system, little women, beach house, the books.
The wind tunnel analogy is the perfect way to describe this album

Holy old my needledrops
@Crim122 threadless :-)
Love some vintage Needle Drop every now and then.
Excellent review! Nails definately need the exposure your channel will bring. One of the best records of 2010. Nails just signed to Southern Lord so hopefully that will secure some longevity. Tried to see them play in Sacramento but they never showed up to the venue:-(
@IntoTheWaysideV i'm gonna see 'em this wednesday!
Preppin for You Will Never Be One of Us. FUCKING HARD-FUCKING-CORE!!!!!!!!!!
Holy FUCK! This is the first review of yours I've checked out in a few months (mainly due to being busy) and let me say, you never let me down.
Not only have I never heard this before, but it's fucking jaw-dropping!
Dirty, loud, noisy, scary, just like hardcore SHOULD BE!
I can't believe someone from Terror could make good music, haha!
You still watch TheNeedeDrop after 13 years😭
I'm so happy I found this channel. These reviews are great. I've just rewatched a bunch , and am now addicted.
Question: I looked on your page, but couldn't find this info anywhere, what type of headhones do you use?
im so happy that i found too

Hey Anthony, I really wish you would review more grindcore and extreme music, I always love your input as a huge grindcore fan it's nice to hear a fresh perspective from a guy like yourself. I also thought it would be cool if once in a while (not sure the frequency of your uploads) you could review some older classic albums like Misfits, Magrudergrind, Neutral Milk Hotel blah blah and so forth.
Listening to this album right now, still as awesome.
Really digging the two tracks in the description. I don't normally go for heavy/abrasive music, but lately I have been. Listening to a lot of Lightning Bolt.
Definitely going to check it out.
you have NO idea how much I want this album!!! I'm totally gonna see these dudes at next years Maryland Deathfest!!!! Thanks for reviewing this!!!!
Yo Anthony, you turned me onto Nails with this review way back when you dropped this - Todd Jones (I’m sure you already know) was the riff master in the band Carry On and the record “A Life Less Plagued” is easily some of his best guitar work. Highly recommend it if you’re not familiar.
@TerpinCaxt I'm going and you should go, too. If it gets too scary, we can always run away.
I found out about them when I was looking for worthwhile bands on the youtube channel called BlankTV and suddenly they came across with Conform/Scum will rise. I was blown away. It's so intense and strong, they bought me immediately.
I didn't expect you to enjoy this at all. this band is so good. excellent review
@Juiceboxjerry AKG 240s. :-)
My fav review of one of my fav TND discoveries.
brendan cullinan same bro same
I love all the suggested videos that come up on this!
a nine! wow, impressive score, indeed. i love how you went from Deerhunter to this! your musical tastes are amazing
@flusck i lol'd
I just listened to Swans so this will be a nice change of pace :)
puttin my headphones on and dominating this thing. turn up that frickin volume and get into it ppl
@theneedledrop YES, NEW ELECTRIC WIZARD. I'm going to see them live for the release party, actially! The album comes out 1 November (they're playing a show the 31st of october in my home town!)
Lordy lord watching this now is weirdd
You know why Fantano is the most popular music critic in the world? It's because he finds albums like this one. This is still the most aggressive piece of music to ever be recorded in human history
@homogenoushodgepodge maybe...maybe...maybe
I really liked this album, I'm a huge grindcore and i think it's really great that you're reviewing it, you should put some more Grind, Crust, Metal and stuff like cuz there are metal drops too you know ha, on a side note the breakdown on the song "Scum Will Rise" is a serious rip off of Extreme Noise Terror "Short Fuse".
I picked this video up from my local library
this is great!thanks for another awesome review, they remind me of Weekend Nachos, definitely gonna pick this up when i get a chance!
2:37 MELON LIKES PANTERA, COWBOYS FROM HELL CLASSIC REVIEW WHEN?!
good music. in parts where it feels like it'll start to lag, they make top notch choices to add that extra little bit of oomph! Terrific sonic pacing.
Watching this in the future!
May 2018
;~)
Could you do a track review of the new Code Orange Kids song?? please!
really awesome album, but it is their first full length not second.
tough to tell when they’re about the same length lmao
I miss the way he used to do videos. I want my metal reviews back!!!🤘
Really glad these guys got some exposure. This is the heaviest fucking thing ever recorded.
my mind was just blown out of my eyes. wow. thanks Anthony
REVIEW THE NEW NAILS ALBUM "ABANDON ALL LIFE"
Anthony, do you liked Cursed? They broke up in 2008 but you might like them... I highly recommend you check out their album 'II', their best work in my opinion (though I and III are very good as well)
I found out about Nails like a month ago after Lee Spielman of Trash Talk mentioned listening to the album during the TT interview on the punk show on Radio 1.
It's a great album, full-on fury!
Ah, yes. A classic review, yes.
Just saw these guys last night in a tiny venue. They brought it. I had no idea who they were, but I remembered them.
This album is really freaking good, but you should check out mislead by certainty by Cephalic Carnage, witch is in my opinion the Greatest grind album to come out this year
Great album
I follow Deathwish on Twitter and they kept talking about this band, so I finally gave them a listen. Such a great album. Very intense, glad you like. Hey Anthony, have you ever heard of the band Celeste? French sludge / hardcore / black metal band. Very worth checking out. You should review their 2010 release.
Nails - Buttsilent Death
I don't really hear much modern influence from these guys. The three main influences I can hear are Discharge, Crossed Out and Entombed. Their music really takes old school sounds and gives them a new school twist. That's what I'm hearing.
Wow this band is intense! you should do more ug Grind/metal reviews
I had to do a double-take when I saw how long the album is bruhh
9000 subs is unbelievable 😮
How did i miss this review!
this is the first 9 ive seen by you
You need to send this to JCGSound, I think he'd get a kick out of you loving this album lol. :) By the way, loved this shit, great stuff!
@officernarc I know that, I just think JCG would find it a bit funny to see the needledrop reviewing something he gave thumbs up to and giving it a high score.
Seeing them tonight with Cruel Hand. Yeuuuuh buddy.
Dude, have you heard Fake Shark-Real Zombie!'s latest album yet? Pretty sweet man.
Im excited to check this out. Hmmmm I wonder how Anthony found out about this.... oh its released on Southern Lord... interesting...
They're great for what they are. I'm kinda over that whole sound, but that's because I'm old enough to have been through a full wave of that between 1989 and 1995 (I'm thinking Entombed, Sepultura, Carcass et al.). This is still very nice, and much, MUCH better than Terror ever was.
I'd give it an 8, then probably never listen to it again.
You're subscriber level is over 9000!
Though I'm an avid metal fan, I can't see myself ever enjoying an album that only spans 13 minutes.
@Thrashing Hentai I was totally wrong on this haha, love this record now.
Cool that you came back 11 years later to tell us haha.
@@kilgorin10 glad to see your still alive my man hahaha
The needle drop knows a lot about music and doesn't afraid of anything.
You could like the Band "Torch Runner" too, if you like unsilent death.
I never quite understood Grindcore but I hope this will change now.
Unsilent Death was borrowed from Max Cavalera. Close...I guess, as it's taken from a soulfly song, and not Sepultura...
@theneedledrop DO WANT
@Kevin5262 HURRRHURRRR BECAUSE POWERVIOLENCE WAS TOTALLY PART OF THAT SCENE HURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
If you like this album, I'd say you like Afgrund's new album too! Gives me the same angry feel
This album makes me happy.
i really dont know wich i like most. this one or abandon all life...
I found these guys when I went to a Touche Amore show and the guitarist was wearing a Nails shirt
Grindthony Corethano
I dig the mp3 from your website!
Funny things:
1. Re watching you tear your notes
2. The manicure how to videos to the right
3. Your tags
4. Anjelah Johnson and Grindcore
Great record
Vintage Melon right here

@kmacmuzikmafia27 yeah you're right he didn't... seems like he was too busy for that :/
Classic album
