Very informative as I am about to renew my British Passport and going to be doing it online. Your video made it simple to understand and the updates I will recieve.
I have found that you can hold onto a valid UK passport if you are out of the country and it is required as a means of lD until you have received your new passport. You are required to send a colour copy of every page which are numberd including the front and rear cover with an accompanying letter explaining the reasons why you need to retain your old passport for security reasons. This meant l was not without a valid UK passport while waiting for my replacement UK passport to arrive. Trust this additional information is found to be helpful in some cases of UK passport renewal.
You can also apply for a second passport if you want to. You can state a reason is that you can apply for visas and send away one passport and not be without a passport during that time, or for visiting multiple countries that may not be friendly towards each other.

I renewed my passport online from Canada and received my new passport today by DHL. It took exactly 4 weeks. The whole process was very easy and smooth with updates throughout until the passport reaches you. Thank you for sharing your video.

Hello. If you’re permanent address during your application is in the Uk, then you need to click yes. I think this is asked so that they would know if they will send the renewed passport within or outside the Uk.

Hello! When applying for a UK passport RENEWAL, do applicants having another citizenship (other than British) need to send their “native” passport too, along with the old British one? I hope not, as I would be frustrating to go through the same hassle as it was done for the first UK passport.
If you are a dual national and are making an application from within the UK then yes, you will have to send your most recent foreign passport. If foreign passport has a different name then you must change name on foreign passport before you make an application otherwise your foreign passport will be sent back to you and application will be put on hold and eventually withdrawn.

So if I click srilanka it then tells me to print and fill in a payment form correct?? And send with passport. Also I saw they then email confirmation number and another form for me to sign and send along. So it will be old passport, payment authorisation form(( although I assume they process payment immediately?) Plus the form with my signature to print sign and send. Hope you understand?. Hello. I put my passports and certificate in a plastic pocket so it is protected even when the envelope gets wet with rain etc. I used only a normal A4 white envelope and sealed it with sellotape.

Make an application for adult renewal. If you've lost your old passport,. Make an application for adult replacement and get lost stolen reference number and give it to the passport office. If you also have a foreign passport or travel document then you will have to send it as well with your application(original if applying from the UK and coloured photo copies if overseas) this is for name alignment.
If you lost your passport and reported it lost and they cancelled it. Then a month later you found it back. Can you renew it the normal way or you have to renew it using that lost or stolen passport? I don’t wanna fill out the wrong section. I physically have it so it’s no longer lost. Any advice ?
The only thing you can do with a passport like that is send it back to the passport office as requested by them. Do not destroy it as the passport office need to verify that it is not in illegal circulation and inform the Criminal agencies.

@@-Hooman- Yes, you can select Yes when they asked if you have passport from other country on the online form. They will not ask for the expiration date of that passport in this application. Hello. When applying for the renewal of your passport, you will be asked if your passport is lost or stolen, then click Yes. It will then ask you if you have cancelled your stolen passport. If no, you have to cancel/report it first (the website will take you to another form), before you can proceed with renewal.
Becouse I've report it as lost and fill in that form it gave me reference on the email I report it stolen ,how long is that reference vailed for ,as I cant apply for my passport untill June 24th.

Hello. At the end of your online application and on the email that Passport Office will send, they will let you know which address to send your old passport. They have many offices so they will specify the address there.

You need to report your passport as lost and await a cancellation communication. You can then apply for a passport renewal.

Hello. At the end of your online application and on the email that Passport Office will send, they will let you know which address to send your old passport. They have many offices so they will specify the address there.
