Hey everyone! A new update! This service has now opened to EVERYONE so you don't need to wait for an email from the Home Office to follow this process ☺
Thanks for the info I just did the application now myself. One other thing I discovered is that only my BRP was registered on my UKVI account as identification and not my passport. I came across another video on the UKVI website which discussed using this eVisa for entering the country and they indicate that you will need to add your passport(s) to your UKVI account. Once this is done all you will need to do is show your passport or one of your passports if you are a multinational (once the BRP expires at the end of the year - ie you also need to show the BRP until the end of December) and the eVisa will automatically show up on the screen of the immigration officer when they scan it. If you don’t do this this will not happen and given your BRP will have expired you will need to prove to them your immigration status which the video says will take longer.
I was bit lost thinking how I should do it to sort out the e-visa but then found your video then I start watching the video you cannot understand how much help I got from you , I can say you have done brilliant job certainly not just for me but many people GOD bless you! Thank you
Thank you so much for your video! Just a PSA, in case anyone else is having the same issue, the reverse for me was true - I used my BRP number to create an account and when I signed in, I had no option to link my eVisa. After signing in, all it said under the 'forms' tab was, 'You have no recent applications'. I signed out, refreshed, went back in and still the same issue. So I tried creating an account again, this time using my passport number and it worked! You'll sign in and see a box that says 'Link your eVisa to your account' with a green start button. So if like Alanna your passport doesn't work, try your BRP number, if like me, try your passport :)
What if I already have a UKVI account? I meant when I applied for my visa previously, I already opened a UKVI account. Do I still need to open a new one?
@@forhadhossainn723 I don’t think so, despite having a UKVI account for my visa application, it wasn’t the same. Before you do anything, please wait for the email from the home office prompting you to get an eVisa. The subject line for my email was , ‘You need to replace your BRP with an eVisa now’. :)
I also used my passport to create UKVI account and finished the application process for evisa. But now after 5 days I still haven't received email from UKVI about the outcome of evisa. Seems that everyone using BRP to create UKVI account gets evisa very quickly after the submission. May I ask how long it took you to receive the outcome of evisa?
I was actually able to do the process without receiving an email from the home office. It’s fairly easy process until you get to the part you have to scan the BRP card , it took me quite a few tries before it got through. if you can’t you’ll have send in proof of identity to home office.

Wanted to add here, the UKVI will ask about the Expiry date. Please enter your BRP expiry date which is 31-12-2024 for everyone and not the date when your VISA expires.
Do you mean that we have to add the one which is on the card and not the actual expiry date which can be of future let’s say 2026 or 2027? If yes then what’s the point of having an eVisa since the expiry on both BRP and eVisa would be same.

I've had an eVISA for right about 2 years now, and every time I leave/enter the country, whether it's at the UK borders or the check-in counter in the respective country I'm flying from, I get asked about my VISA status, get asked tons of questions, get moved to other officers for more verifications; it's a nightmare. I hope that they conveyed all information to all countries saying they are phasing out BRPs, else good luck to you all, you'll to go through a stuggle.
Same exact issue for me and my partner, though some countries are better informed than other. Just last week we got denied boarding on the airplane back to UK by RyanAir as they said they don't know what eVisa is and they don't accept it at all - either we have physical or we can't fly. Nice £400+ lost just to book another airline and a hotel for the night in between. Gladly, WizzAir had no issues accepting eVisa but it still took 30+ minutes of checks by them and fiding someone in their immigration office who knows what eVisa is and how it works. UK border agency officer told us airlines were wrong but he admitted UK gov did NOT really tell them how to deal with eVisas yet - they plan to do it by the end of this year. Till then, have fun travelling back to UK from abroad, it's a nightmare! :/

Continuing the process from the phone App worked for us. Switching back to desktop after taking photos in App wasn't a great experience, FYI. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for your video. My wife and myself have also registered for the eVisa. What still confuses me is how immigration checks would work post BRP at airports or similar grounds. With the usually poor network at so many airports, do they actually expect people to sign in to the HO account on a browser and show details to the officer while waiting in the queue? Besides the convenience part, most airport immigration zones observe a strict no-phone policy as well. I just can't wrap my head around the whole process. Maybe in future, HO comes up with a functionality on their app where you can store your eVisa like other loyalty cards on your phone wallet. But as it stands, the adoption looks quite tedious.
@@harshad_hule I agree with the other reply. I had put in my 'original date' of expiry (as stated on the email) first but that wasn't successful as I realised that it was a way to match the details on the scanned card. So I put the printed details instead and it worked. Once registered, the account reflects your original expiry date and not the blanket 31 Dec.
thanks a lot. it's been helpful. Originally I wasn't sure what to use to register. (brp or passport). I used brp first and then link the Evisa to my passport and then the login changed to passport (the latest added document I assumed). Its all instant.
Sadly in my case it wasn't instant and has taken months.. The evisa is finally updated but expiry still days 31at December, not the actual expiry of the visa.. I'm trying to figure out if this is normal and if it will automatically update or not
Thank you for your clear and informative instructions. I made exactly the same mistakes as you. I initially must have used the sign in and not create account option and I thought using my passport would be the best option also. After restarting my process everything went very smoothly. I received our eVisa's 5 minutes after I submitted. Well done UK immigration service!
Really clear and helpful in pointing out the details to be careful about. Although having information online is reassuring , I am concerned about being able to quickly prove your status at a foreign airport , as they won’t allow people to board unless they are satisfied that they will be admitted to the UK.
After you create an account with these instructions, you can go back into your eVisa and add your passport details. That way: "Your eVisa will be linked to your passport in your UKVI account. You must keep your passport or ID card details up to date in your UKVI account and tell us about any changes, so that your immigration status can be easily identified at the UK border. You'll still need to carry your current passport with you." I'll post another video with these additional steps
@@introvertedexpat Thank you for the reply ; I fully expect UK Border Force to have instant access when scanning a passport , my concern , as I said , is at the foreign port / airport - I'm not convinced that airline check-in staff will have such ready access . I suspect it will be down to the passenger to print out their status or get a share code every time they travel , much less quick and convenient than simply showing a BRP card or stamp in a passport . I hope that I'm being unduly pessimistic , we'll find out next year !
Thank you, I'm still awaiting that email from UKVI. I did try signing up but it could not recognise my BRP card number so am guessing I'll just have to wait. Thanks for your video, I'll be ready for it when it arrives. Cheers.
Are you able to see your status I was able to complete the whole process and submitted and received the email to check my status when I login It says I am not able to see your status at the moment on the system. Which document did you use for the scanning BRP or passport. I will be very thankful if you are able to reply to me.
Same here done with whole process and submitted ,got an email very next moment by saying you can view your evisa , when tried it comes up We cannot show proof of your status
Went through the process right now. Immigration lawyer suggested that you cannot create eVisa if you do not have BRP - so don't bother with the passport. Also, during scanning process, do not panic - app is pretty good but one step is hard - scan the visa without moving the phone or the visa under it. try aligning upper part of the iphone with the upper right corner of the BACK of your visa - after a few bad readings, my phone finally read the BRP's chip. I got the confirmation in a matter of minutes, that my eVisa has been linked to my BRP.
How long did it take? I have done more than 19 days ago and everything was submitted by receiving UAN, yet I have not received any email from home office ?
@@aahomayoun5068 In my case it took 5 mins from "applied" to the followup email "confirmed". Also, very important. Once you create your account with the BRP, if you ADD a passport, the passport becomes your sign in reference number, and you may even see old visas in your accounts. Ignore - as long as your passport has status as settled, and you have physical BRP you should be ok - spoke with the very helpful support today about this. It is explained but can be convoluted.
@@aahomayoun5068 you should be able to add your passport but only once you finish with your BRP with the settled status. So you follow the link, do the whole thing with scanning the BRP. then in your account , you will have an option "add a document", you can add passport - you only need passport photo in colour and passport number. Please note - THIS will remove your IRL BRP from the account, as only one document at the time (according to the support) can be proof of settlement. I am traveling on Monday and have no time to explore, but I will consult with my lawyers and will leave any update here. Might do a video too. Please do this at your own peril tho the app is buggy. It is currently showing my old BRP in the document list.
@@aahomayoun5068 sorry for the delayed response. Again I am just stating my own experience, please do not take this for granted. Once i created e visa account using my BRP, I went to “update your details” page where you can add a nee document. From there you can add your passport. Then, you are done - your passport is now your main proof of settlement as it is connected with your settled status, and after December BRPs will expire, therefore the passport should be your primary proof of settlement. Should you need a code to prove right to work or rent, you can get this using your passport details.
Honestly I think this is just crazy. I'm not an advocate of old ways but honestly a stamp in your non UK passport worked. I often wonder what happens is my phone is dead or stolen on holiday, computer systems down etc etc

Re-did the UKVI account with my passport number and it worked straight away. I wish they'd make it make sense!! Thanks for the detailed video!
@@mariaelenaramirez4147Yes, it's actually possible. Opened a new account with my International passport and then it worked. But then I discovered one doesn't have to open a new account using an alternative option, if you're currently using your BRP and it's not working, try to create a new account with the same BRP details, once it detects that you have already created one account initially, it will then redirect you to login. By doing this, you'll be able to link to the App. Same works if the issue is with your International Passport as well.
I created the UKVI account in my laptop but after I enter there is no QR code there just "Your form, and you have no recent application", I installed the app and got into it but the first thing it ask is for QR code. So now it seems there is no way to proceed

finally, someone who speaks perfect english to explain stuff like this lol. i don't have a brp but i have been in the uk for a long long time, decades, and i have irl on my old passport and a updated new passport to travel in and out the country, and the website suggests that i make an NTL application which is free but takes time. what if i don't want to make an NTL, can i skip this step and sign up the evisa with my passport instead? i don't think the HO has my email as we used the immigration socilitor to get the IRL years and years ago.
You will need to get an NTL application as soon as possible as the deadline is Oct to enable a BRP to be issued to you to "view & prove" your status online using evisa from Jan 2025. As part of your NTL application, they will get your contact info and will advise you to setup your evisa. P. S The old vignette stickers for ILR in Passports will no longer be accepted unfortunately as you cannot link it to your evisa hence the need for a NTL BRP.
Hi! I will be traveling to England from Turkey on the 7th of January for my MSc. I have received my vignette( student visa) , which allows me to enter the UK within 90 days. However, I did not receive any letter or additional information regarding my BRP. My passport was returned with only the vignette included. Could you please clarify where I should collect my BRP? Or if the new e-visa system is now in use, should I proceed with it instead? If so, could you advise whether this needs to be completed before or after I enter the UK?
I've got a problem! I have created my UKVI account using my BRP. After that I found out that my first name doesn't fit into the Machine Readable Zone of the document. And that is why my Name details doesn't match. Can I create another UKVI account using my international passport so as to avoid that problem and get the solution to the issue? Thanks in advance for the answer.
I have my eVisa now but will travel in a few days across boarders. How should I show my eVisa? Present screenshots or just login on a browser on my phone?
Hi, thanks for the video. Can I use the eVisa now instead of the BRP? Will they accept it at the airport when I come to the UK? I lost my BRP but have my eVisa.
@Anabia361, you don't need a physical BRP to apply for an eVisa, but it can only be used after December 31, 2024. So, if you are not a British citizen and you leave the UK and want to return before December 31, you cannot do so without a physical BRP.

Thank you so much for showing the link , I was able to register even though I didn't get an email, very helpful, really appreciated it 😊
Thank you for this comment because I just did the same thing and it worked
Hi, how can we register without the email? Kindly guide. Thanks
Thanking you very much Canadian friend, was going to work it out myself but as you done this video I thought why not take the easy route.
So, you used your passport (instead of BRP) for creating account?
@@radite1709yes because your BRP will be expiring soon so better if use ur passport
You'll still need to carry your current passport with you."
I'll post another video with these additional steps
Cheers.
Hello, just curious when does your BRP expire? My dad's due on November but still haven't received an email yet.
@@sheshehangyou need to apply now online. Sometimes they used direct text messages on the phone number your dad register on the BRP
Thanks so much. Just done mine now with your help 😂 now just waiting for their response 🤞
Very informative video. Thanks a million
this was so helpful, was able to do it even though i didnt get an email , i guess it opened up for everyone this summer like you said
Are you able to see your status I was able to complete the whole process and submitted and received the email to check my status when I login It says I am not able to see your status at the moment on the system. Which document did you use for the scanning BRP or passport. I will be very thankful if you are able to reply to me.
@@laxman9695 I used brp and yes I can see my status
@@laxman9695 I am in the same process any progress?
Same here done with whole process and submitted ,got an email very next moment by saying you can view your evisa , when tried it comes up We cannot show proof of your status
@@laxman9695 ah dont know why its not showing for you. I used my brp and it worked
Tysm. You gave me the ans to all of my confusions ❤
Thank you from the bottom of my heat 🙏🏿
@@earlsfield thanks, can I still add my passport ? If so from which link I should apply ?
Hi there, very best clear informations details evisa share with us , One of the best videos showing absolutely straight forward process fully understanding every single step details. Top class. 🙏🙏🙏

Please help, I have done all steps but I don't see this page 7:39 ... I have downloaded the app, but not sure to find the QR to scan or where to put in the code. It is frustrating!!!
Thank you very much for the video and the info. I am stuck in one of the stages. My phone either cannot find the BRP chip or a message says "Phone or document moved whilst accessing the chip", that is while I do not move either. Do you know by any chance what the problem is, and what I should do? Many thanks!
Thanks for the information! Quite detailed.
Nice detailed video. About to apply for my evisa ❤❤
Great explanation, thank you so much, you are amazing
Hi, I have made my UKVI account for eVisa and when I sign in it shows in form section that “you have no recent application”…. What does that mean???
It’s not showing any QR code or go to download ID app???
Can u guide me please
Did u figure anything out? Same issue
I have same issue as well. Please help🙏
I have same issue
I'm also sitting with the same issue 😢
I think when u finish the application sign in from there and not click the link in email
Just a comment to say I had the opposite problem logging in- wouldn't show me the qr code/code with my BRP as login no matter how many refreshes/sign in and outs i did. Re-did the UKVI account with my passport number and it worked straight away. I wish they'd make it make sense!! Thanks for the detailed video!
Do you mean you created a new UKVI account with your passport? Please confirm. I'm having thesame issue
@@iyiyemiojo819 Yeah I just went back to the start and did all the tedious steps again but used my passport number instead of the BRP
I have the same problem! so you have two accounts? is that possible
Thank you very much. ❤
Thanks for the information.
You actually don’t have to wait for the email, you can create the UKVI account by following the right link.
Can you send link please?
I created the UKVI account in my laptop but after I enter there is no QR code there just "Your form, and you have no recent application", I installed the app and got into it but the first thing it ask is for QR code. So now it seems there is no way to proceed
Have you fixed your issue?

finally, someone who speaks perfect english to explain stuff like this lol. i don't have a brp but i have been in the uk for a long long time, decades, and i have irl on my old passport and a updated new passport to travel in and out the country, and the website suggests that i make an NTL application which is free but takes time. what if i don't want to make an NTL, can i skip this step and sign up the evisa with my passport instead? i don't think the HO has my email as we used the immigration socilitor to get the IRL years and years ago.
Thanks for the info. God bless
Thanks alot it's very helpful 😊
If so, could you advise whether this needs to be completed before or after I enter the UK?
thanks for the your wonderful video
Thank you for sharing miss beautiful 😊,..
I like the way you speak
I've got a problem! I have created my UKVI account using my BRP. After that I found out that my first name doesn't fit into the Machine Readable Zone of the document. And that is why my Name details doesn't match. Can I create another UKVI account using my international passport so as to avoid that problem and get the solution to the issue? Thanks in advance for the answer.
I have my eVisa now but will travel in a few days across boarders. How should I show my eVisa? Present screenshots or just login on a browser on my phone?
Hi thx for the good info. I just want to know if I can apply whilds abroad.
Hi, thanks for the video. Can I use the eVisa now instead of the BRP? Will they accept it at the airport when I come to the UK? I lost my BRP but have my eVisa.
I have also lost my brp. Dvla hasn’t sent it back to me.
@Anabia361 same here
@@ArifMohamedMACH But I haven’t applied for e visa yet. Will I need my brp card physically present to apply for e visa?
@Anabia361, you don't need a physical BRP to apply for an eVisa, but it can only be used after December 31, 2024. So, if you are not a British citizen and you leave the UK and want to return before December 31, you cannot do so without a physical BRP.

Hello there please help me...i used my uan number as my passport is expired and my brp card with ILR was lost and i reported it!! Now i went through this process and its asked me to pay 19pound. Do i need an eVisa if I am European and already have settled status? I do no have BRP, I travel all the time and have no stamps on my passport.
Hi thank you for the information I am having trouble to apply because they doesn’t recognise my EU scheme
Brilliant, thanks Alanna
Thank you so much for such a detailed video. How about children? are they going to be with me or with mom !!!
Hi, please what about the people have the BRC card is same ? Thanks😊
HI, Thanks for your video. Just got a question. What if I dont see a QR code after creating an Account? How do I go for the ID check on the App?
Hi I encountered the same problem! Did you ended up getting the QR code?
Dont need QR code or Connection code...If you do the entire process on your smart phone then it just automatically takes you to the UKVI ID checking app
if choosing BRP to register by, in the App it scans the back and front of the BRP card and then tries to scan the chip. Where is that? There is an image of a chip above the photo but scanning around there does nothing.
I just realised the chip is on the back but invisible. We've managed to lock ourselves out for 24 hours after going around in circles, so have to try another day.
I created an account as I received an email from UKVI. I signed in after creating the account but unable to link to my mobile for ID check! So what is the solution, please.
I was being clever and started all the process without the invitation email. Ended up seeing my previous visa details not the latest one even if I had signed up with the latest BRP. So ultimately I have to wait now and see what happens next.
Me too done advance and waiting 😂😂😂
