Pēteris Vasks’ Prayer is an ecstatic invocation of the power of love to overcome misery and despair. Drawing on prayers of Mother Teresa, it takes us into the streets of Calcutta to find courage and hope. Never before performed in Australia.

Such beautiful, soaring music of hope, wonderfully performed. Vasks finds room for beauty in his music, in a world where so much contemporary "classical" music seems to reflect the dissonance and despair that is prevalent in many world events. Thanks for posting this!

its a pity that there is not Subtitles in English, or even French. A lovely moving piece by is by all measures a pious composer; Peteris Vasks. I listen to all his works on here, but my favourites by far are his Choral Works.

I used to like Arvo Part, and I still do. But too much of his music is minimalistic. I find much more beauty and wonder in Peteris Vasks.
