I have tried everything to get the print and cut to work and read the registration marks. After saving up to buy the new Cameo I am so sorry I bought the Cameo 4. Just having to "trick" the machine to be able to cut is just plain crazy....we should not have to do that. The time it takes to try to get it work correctly should not be happening. Silhouette needs to correct this issue...PLEASE.
Idk if this will make any sense but I’m gonna give it a shot… when sublimating onto oracle 651 and trying to use the “print and cut” feature after you’ve sublimated the design onto the 651 the registration marks are reversed. Is it possible for the cameo to still register those and cut correctly or will I need to cut the vinyl first before I sublimate onto it? I really hope this makes sense 🤦🏻♀️😂. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Had an issue and figured it out, figured I'd share it since I couldn't find it in the vid: With super glossy paper (I use high gloss sticker paper) just turn off any lights close to the printer, but have some ambient light. Had multiple failures on a new high cost material and as soon as I went "wait, maybe the light is distorting/reflecting the registration marks" did I start having consistent perfect prints. Hope this helps!

I'm getting registration failed with glossy adhesive vinyl. I have the silhouette cameo 4. Any tips? I have adjusted the lighting and done everything I could find on the internet.
This may sound weird, and I hope it is helpful...but check to see if the little metal grippers (metal coil things that help feed the media in the machine) are causing the vinyl to bubble and warp the top square registration mark when its trying to read them. If so try to use something to help flatten it while it reads, or even lifting the vinyl from underneath while it's trying to read the registration marks. I have had a lot of issues with the media warping that tiny square and this helped me!
if you want to print lots like...for example 10 sheets of the same, if you send 10 to print all at the same time it only processes once. i'd be worried about copying it being not 100%straight and not as good of quality.
My problem is the little roller that locks and unlocks i dont feel like it does anything. I'll lift the bar and unlock it to move it and then relock it and out feels loose. Like it still slides back and forth causing my paper to move. Anyone else have this problem.
I need help! When I'm cutting just smooth edged stickers, the cut gets so out of wack, the first 2 rows are cut ok and then it shifts so I have a bigger border at the bottom or sides than I do at the top 🤦🏻♀️ how can I fix this? Any ideas. Thanks in advance
So where I work, we have to keep a copy of what we print for our customers... I just output the job to a PDF and I run the pdf off on our production printers, so I can print 30 copies at a time. Just throwing that out there because I don't have issues with the reg marks and pdf's when I'm doing my normal projects.
Unfortunately, you can only read one set of registration marks at once. This could be accomplished with a wide format printer if you are planning on doing this often though!
the things is registration marks is detected and cameo cutting my sticker but still not accurate . not a little but a lot. I tried align it with/without cutting mat and its still happen. Did anyone who has same problem and has solved it? btw...thanks for the video!
Both are great, cameo software is more complex and better for people who are wanting to do more. Portrait has a more user-friendly software and is more of a plug and play kind of machine that can still do a lot. Its kind of like apple vs android. Both can do about the same and get the job done, just comes down to preference! Hope that helps!!
My Silohouette is not cutting the actual image it is way off. It won’t reset or calibrate. Top it off it sparks at me when plugging in the cord to the machine. Anyone know how long Silohouette takes to get ahold of you? Sent email 2 days ago with videos and pics. TIA
When registrating the paper sheet (using normal 4A simple printing paper just for testing) the cameo 5 finds the top square with ease.. but when it tries to find the left bottom registration mark, the cameo 5 just takes the whole paper too far in and tries to scan the end of my cutting mat... this happens every time, I thought maybe if I change the bottom offset by adding it almost at the top but it keeps skipping the corner, made the registration lines thicker and smaller but nothing seems to work 😥
Restore the defaults for the registration marks and make sure there is nothing else in the printer tray when you are printing other than the material you are printing on and try again.
I have had more issues with this registration mark read error than anything else! It's doing it again... with matte white sticker paper, I've made the marks bigger, I've tried manual and automatic... and it is wasting SO much time... and still not reading. Cameo 4, you're making me miss my first generation silhouette cameo :(
Same here ma'am, everytime i make changes in inset the cameo just won't read the reg marks despite me maxing out the thickness. I'm using Glossy Vinyl btw :) also with good room lighting
Has anyone else experienced the Shilouette reading the square and bottom left mark just fine, then going to read the top right and reading an inch or so to far to the right? This keeps happening to me on two of my three designs. The machine is calibrated and has plenty of light as well as being on matte paper.
Yes. And, I have it on a mat with the software showing it on a mat. Mine was working fine until this week. I updated the software and the firmware and it’s not reading the registration marks. I’m definitely getting fed up.
@@JD-vh4ct I totally get it, I am a stationary shop owner, so I have my products printed second hand at a professional printing shop, so making sure my marks are read perfect every time is sooo important! I updated my software thinking that might have been the issue... and it still didn't help. So what I tried was, completely resetting all the cut marks and making sure the were longer and thicker then the thin lines, placing white out over the already printed registration marks and printing new ones and that fixed most of the problems. But! On some of the times it wasn't working property one other thing I did; was when the machine was using the lazer to read I turned my head so I could see how it was reading and noticed my matt when fed into the rollers, was bending funny and causing a slight bowing or bent upward in a "U" like shape towards the lazer. So when it began to try reading the mark it "though" the mark was skewed. So to correct this issue I held the matt slightly upward and/or placed a small, thin, and flat object to hold it down while it registered ( while checking to make sure the mat was flat at eye level with the red little lazer). This seemed to fix some of the issues some of the time, but ever once in a while... this is not the issue and the thing doesn't read them right still 🤦♀️. Hopefully is just a bug and with time the cameos will get better!!

I’m having extreme problem with my cameo! Every time I cut with print and cut the cut is way off or slightly off. But it is never perfect. I tried to re-calibrate my cutting but it still is off. And is randomly off. Sometimes it will be extremely off, and then I will try cut again and it will be just slightly off. Do you have any tips on how to fix this. It’s so frustrating and I can’t get it

The ink smear portion is untrue. With inkjet printers, the ink smears because it does not absorb the ink, it just sits on top of the paper. Laser, lasers inside of the paper because it uses powder. Inkjet is liquid. That is why you get smudging. Whenever printing using inkjet you want to make sure you change your settings to the slowest printer speed so that the ink can dry but it should not smear. If it does, the paper is not compatible.
OMG, I'm so excited! I printed my design on regular printer paper, cut off the registration mark (just the square one) and taped it to my vinyl with scotch tape and it WORKED!!!!
One more thing, print the regular copy on lower quality print then it reads it. If I print on high/best quality, registration mark won't work. So strange!

It could be the calibration is off which there are videos about checking that. Or it could be an issue with the print and cut lazer. Try making sure your matt is laying flat when its trying to read registration marks as they can bow or bend under the roller at times, even the slightest bit can make the registration mark look skewed and cause cutting issues! Hope this helps!! 💕
When I have many pages to print I just set the printer for the total amount that I need and they come right behind the other. My problem is not being able to manually register the cameo with the auto blade. how do you do that? with the regular blade you can see the marks to line it up but with the auto blade you can not see where to line it up.
hahaha, seriously?! I have only been trying to cut stickers with the autoblade, I didn't think that it would be different for the different blades. I haven't had ANY success with the autoblade (Just using regular white sticker paper to test). Going to have to try this on the regular blade now!

My Epson WF-7610 printer prints the registration marks too light. I’ve tried increasing the thickness of the registration marks in Silhouette Studio. It still doesn’t work. I’m new to Silhouette and haven’t had any luck so far. Any ideas?
JJ Scraps I have the same problem with my Epson 7710, I too can’t find any answers so I took a chance and went over the registration marks with a Sharpie and it cut very close to perfect.

I don’t know is it just me, but I really regret buying Cameo 4 while I had a perfectly working Cricut Explore Air 2. Thought it will make my life easier with making a bunch of stickers for my shop, it gave me a lot of headaches and frustrations instead. It cuts perfectly one time, and 3 minutes later, with EXACTLY the same settings, the same paper and everything else it just goes crazy and the cuts get way off. I’ve spent so many hours trying to figure it out, ruined over 50 sticker sheets in the process, now I’m ready to throw it out through the window.

Too bad they don’t have the option the make the paper size default in the print page settings, at least the basic studio doesn’t. Do you think it has something to do with Photoshop? I always print my designs using Photoshop, it gives me more control and makes better quality prints than printing directly through Silhouette Studio, but I’m thinking it might be the reason it makes the registration marks go off too often :/

So what is the "hack" when it doesn't even read matte paper? The new 4 is total junk.

Just use 240 grit sandpaper to scuff the gloss off. Takes a few seconds.

I would cut the vinyl first. How are you applying the sublimation to the 651? What time/temp is working for you best?

using matte tape to avoid ink smear and It'll helps to register marks, so you do the same for the copies?

how do you do an alignment for the registration marks if the silhouette isn't cutting anything right?

I align the paper to the mat according to the top registration marks. So the machine will cut nice

i had that issue when i forgot to set the page up with a cutting mat. it was trying to register as if there was no mat

Why wont my transparent gradient background show up in a faded background as the picture in the download... i am using silhouette 4.4

Printable heat transfer is doing a fail. However , I got one done and that was it. Any suggestions?

using the pixscan matte would be your best bet
Tips to compensate for Silhouettes bad design, right from Silhouette 1 registration has been/is a problem.

This machine is the biggest pile of crap ever. Will not register!! I build my own pcs and cannot get this damm awful thing to work properly. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY PLEASE!!!
