Man, I can be nostalgic about two months ago, let alone historical periods. But I am facing the problem head on now. Thanks, this was helpful :-)

There are a couple of eras, 1920s and 1930s are probably my ultimate favourites for the fashion and the architecture. But as a woman, I wouldn't want to live in any era other than the present day. I like having equal rights, thanks lol

Between mass political and socioeconomic divide, world tensions, corporate abuse of the masses, diminishing sense of community due to things like social media, inflation, and a general lack of satisfaction/happiness in life globally, I'd see reason to thinking that living in a different age other than the modern one would be far more worthwhile and desirable.

Interestingly, however, these issues do not disappear being in a different age. Every decade has it's pros and cons the diminishing sense of community that you mentioned, for example, makes a ton of sense- but on the flipside people are more connected than ever and can keep in touch with people unlike ever in the past. Inflation is super high right now, as it was in the 1970s, but there was a more social lifestyle.
I agree wholeheartedly, with much of what you say, however, I don't think these issues completely dissipate in a different era- they are just switched to other plights such as high infant mortality, death in childbirth, fear of being marauded by foreign invaders, fear of being put into slavery, etc.
Maybe, perhaps there is a ying and yang, dark and light, good and bad, positive and negative in every life experience regardless of the time. Video to come maybe?....
