- Check it out yall, these floating stair stringers definitely have a cool factor that regular wood stairs just don't have. My clients asked if I could install a set of "floating" type stairs made out of steel. My answer... HECK yea! Not a problem because I have a Jay! What's a Jay you ask, well a Jay is a super crazy talented friend of mine that is hands down the best around at any metal fab work! We have worked together on a few projects in the past and he is so good at what he does, and this isn't even his full-time job! Thank you, Mr. Jay Robinson, for all of your hard work!
This is Part 1 in the floating stair series. I will probably make this into a 3-part series. The second part will be the stair treads and installation and the third will be the handrail installation. So, keep an eye out for the upcoming videos on these stellar floating stairs!
This is not a sponsored video. These are the products that I have chosen for the best results possible for this particular project. But, if anyone would like to sponsor W.K.D. Construction to use their products...then by all means, contact me! If I use a certain product, it's for a good reason. I stand behind all of my work and the products I install. - Навчання та стиль
Looking great!
well done 👍
Thank you 👍
Got it coach!
🤙🏻 yessir! Appreciate it and thanks very much for watching.
It is a 4”x6” and 3/16” thick for the main stringer? How about raiser and the thread plate ? :) 😊 thanks a lot!
Ready for part 2 great design!!
But.....I have never felt so broke as when I heard "basement of the pool house....."🤣🤣WTF?!
Haha, I hear ya boss. It’s a 2500 sq ft pool house! Not too shabby 😉
Any tips on finding someone to build metal stringers like this? Or does your friend want some business? 😅
Are you in Tn?
@@w.k.d.constructionllc I am. In the Chattanooga area.
great job. I am wondering what the tubing stringers Measurment's is and wall thickness?
Thank you, it’s a 6” square tube and 3/16” wall
@@w.k.d.constructionllc thanks
What is the material on the upper portion of the outer floor joist (i.e. where the upper beam/stringer is bolted)? I would assume some sort of wood, but how would this transition to the drywall on the ceiling on the underside?
Yes, it was 3/4” birch plywood. I left a reveal and trimmed it out like you would a door or window casing. I ripped a 2”x1/2” thick pc of trim and fastened to it to make the transition
@@w.k.d.constructionllc Ah I see it now, thanks so much!! Killer work on this set by the way.
@@34Fabrication thanks boss
What siz3 is the tube of the main frame?
6x6x3/16
How do you deal with building codes... isn't it required to have handrails on stairs?
It is, but these are just the framework. There will be wood treads and handrails to be installed. This is not a complete set of stairs
Quelle est la largeur du tube svp? 4"x5"?
4”x6”x 3/16”
Anateurs🤣😁
🤔
Que mal se ve el soporte de esta escalera pegado al muro , que froel soporte debió de quedar cubierto en ese muro. Que feo. No sorry arquitecto ni constructor .
