When a few individuals are walking on this staircase, the vibration causes the Glass Handrail. Will the Glass Hand Rail CRACK due to the vibration ?? What could we do to stop such mishaps?
Hi @punkyups - the standoffs/adapters have rubber washers/grommets that fit inside the holes in the glass balustrade. They dampen any small vibrations without putting pressure on the glass itself.
Hi, I am looking to design two floating staircases for my house renovation project. One is from GF to FF and other one is from FF to Loft floor. Could you please let me know if you are available to discuss. I have the required measurements of the floor to floor height etc.. Thank you.
Cantilevered stairs aren't recommended unless there's a structurally sound wall to fix it to. However it is possible in some cases to use an additional profile to effectively sandwich the wall between two stringers. There's also a design for timber walls included in the design package - link is in the description 👍
Hi @davishmaanbaranwal3798 - if looked after properly, then the staircase is going to last a lifetime. The treads and handrail see the most wear and tear so it's important to clean them regularly to remove dust, dirt and grit.
Hi @geomarievaldez7530, the treads have been designed & engineered to minimise the max displacement to approx 1mm. So the vibrations will be small/negligible. The structure will be able to handle any sudden loads/forces, and the standoff rubber washers will dampen vibrations from putting pressure on the glass balustrade.
@@infinityTamilan the design package is currently on sale for £24.50 through the link in description. For costs to supply and install the staircase, you will need to contact your local fabricators and builders
Hi Boris - manufacturing files can be purchased for £29.50 from homedesigntutorials.com/how-to-design-a-cantilevered-staircase/ For fabrication & installation you would need to contact your local suppliers for quotes.
I don't understand what you are doing. If you divide 2850 by 185 and get a number that is not whole (15,41), shouldn't you then try with the closest next number as you say, for example 190!? But the next closest number is not 15 but 190!? then why are you suddenly dividing 2850 by 15? Shouldn't you divide 2850 by 190 and get the whole number 15, actually get the number of steps by dividing the total distance by 190 (chosen range given in reg. ) as you started. ?!
He just rounded the answer he got (15.41) and used the rounded number (15) to get a dimension for each riser. From the original answer you know it's about 15 steps, but after that you need to know how far apart they are.

I am also building a cantilever staircase in Korea. Thanks for the detailed explanation.
Glad to hear you found it useful

I always waiting for your update video
Thank you - hopefully I'll have time to make new ones soon 👍
Amazing
thank you
Can we anchor the staircase to a 10 inch thick brick wall?
Your videos are amazing. I really like it. I am a new subscriber to your channel. Can I talk with you Home design Tutorials?

What if the wall isn’t concrete? How do you reinforce?

What happens when a drilled hole hits rebar?
What is the durability in terms of years?

Your thread is made up of steel . It cause vibration. Ho do you resolved that?

what if it’s glass?
Hi @andreaabigailmedrano6290 - glass staircases require a different method of construction that is shown here in the video.
What about a price...?

@bernardbrkic8568 hi there - it's the number of rises that needs to be a whole number, hence the rounding down to 15 from 15.41. Hope that helps!
