I'm a 58 year old Sagittarius, rode the sand line 🚂 last winter, I don't carry a camp stove just a camping pot with lid, make a small fire for coffee or soup, great video's 👍
Wassup Chris ....good to see you out there bro...Florida water is nasty, id boil that shit and then sawyer squeeze it,I got sick from that water a few times...I loved your train ride ..lol...first thing I said to myself, he is at the wrong end of the car...anyway...today is 2-23-24, I am leaving for the ADT on 3-32-24 east to west.....the further south you go in fla, the more dangerous and frequent contact with some real dangerous wild life, especially then wild hogs, they are aggressive and will come after you....been chased a couple times down there....keep on keeping on brother✌️👊💪
Thanks for the shoutout. I'm leaving on March 11 from Point Reyes, CA, and going to Cape Hatteras, NC. I'll probably start videos around April 1 - be sure to watch! 🙂 Come and find me when you finish your hike. 🙂
😊 I found you through your comments on iLikeMike... I love your honesty and ability to overcome adversity. I can't wait for Mike's next hike. Much respect that you both can put yourself out here on UA-cam... Being a creator adds a whole new set of issues and weight to any adventures...thank you both.
If you can start carrying a stove, make a can stove for alcohol or twig burning if you can't get an isopropyl stove. That water situation is going to get worse the further south you go brother. Need to start boiling it. Stay safe and take care out there my friend 🙏🏻 God Bless Appreciate you Chris!
im terrible at taking real breaks, its so dumb. ill just hike all day taking a few 1-5 minute breaks and wonder why im completely gassed at like 6-7 miles lol. i think most of my higher mile days were when i took real ~25-45 minute breaks with some stretches. electrolytes are another thing too. ill start out good, then get lazy and skip a day or two. never fails that i start feeling worse. i hope you make it out to the AT, dont end up regretting it down the line. it's def more crowded than the trails youre used to, but its fairly easy to find your own space along the vast majority of the trail. most of the water sources are amazing, the best tasting cold spring water. its a good vibe out there during thru season, alot of great people. youll have no problem with logistics, compared to what you've done its a total breeze. farout has pretty much everything you need to know. i hit the trail last year at amicalola on march 9th with a 30 degree quilt, got down to ~18-22 quite often throughout march. was barely warm enough wearing everything, fat as i am. have you tried a regular sawyer squeeze on a dirty 1L smartwater bottle? ditch everything except the spare o-ring and use a smartwater sport cap for backflushing, it fits perfectly. i carry 1-2 clean bottles along with a 2L dirty cnoc with that setup and some tablets for backup, been working great. thanks for the content, its really making me look forward to my start date next month. was funny hearing all the familiar LD hiker grumblings. those ratty motel rooms look like palaces after days in a smelly wet tent. that door lock was top notch. cheers
Hi Chris 👋🏻 Hope you're feeling better my friend 🤞🏻The water situation on that trail is probably what's making you sick. Boil that water first then filter it. A Grayl press would have probably been a better water purification device for that trail. Stay safe and take care my brother 🇺🇲 God Bless 🙏🏻 Appreciate you!
Bro, low sodium can also make you feel like you have low sugar. I used to shove sugar in my face when that feeling hit me but once I learned that my problem was more sodium, it changed how I ate on trail. 🤘🕓
EarlyRiser watches me!? Man you're the first thru hike I ever watched when I was in the VA PTSD unit. Thanks for the advice brother I'm keeping tract of what I eat and how I feel. Appreciate you brother
Thank you for taking us along on your journey. I stayed in one hotel and one Motel on my last trip out to Arizona in the minivan. I needed Wifi to activate the inReach messager my Son gave me for my Birthday back in September and the Motel was just because I wanted to watch the super bowl and didn't want to deal with sleeping in the minivan in single digits forthe overnight low temperature. I was out for a little over 6 weeks, so even with gas and food it was low cost trip. Both of the accommodations were really nice but the under $60 one was really clean and well maintained. Having a vehicle to camp out of an travel really opens up a lot of opportunities. I still have to do something about the vehicles I have... I need to get rid of at least one of the 3. What a problem to have right... With dogs I will try to tell them to sit... It is funny sometimes it works. I feel hiking the Appalachian Trail would actually be good for you... I don't like crowds but you can find solitude and on a trail it just seems easier to acclimate to dealing with being more sociable. Thank you again for another entertaining video. Take care of yourself and Safe travels.
I don't have AirPods but if your iPhone is off they might be making that noise because it's assuming you left your phone. My iPhone does a similar thing when my MacBook losses power while I'm on the road driving.
Been binge watchin your channel bro. You got a good no BS style about your content that's a refreshing change from most of UA-cam. Hope you're doin good man looks like ya haven't uploaded in a while.
Damn you absolutely don’t look 44! I was thinking early to mid 30s at best! Watching you, had my dumbass thinking I can do this hike, until you mentioned softball size spiders lmao
hard to eat properly on the trail and the water can still be bothering you even to you filter it,there is still stuff in there, the chemicals could be bothering yor even your lack of healthy foods like fruits, good quality meat perhaps? eating to much caffeine, to much chew could make you feel weak and sick. i have muscle knots on both hips I dont feel it until I do my message gun which your supposed to work out the knots and it is painful to do. some use a rolling pin or use a pool noodle and sitting on their side and roll over the painful spot. camaper vans are nice,
Yessss!! I was excited to see that you uploaded. I've been unsubscribing from a lot of people so I guess it made it easier for your video to come through 😊. Safe travels 💚 @adventureswiththecrazyvet

Hey!! Long time no see buddy 😁
Love your honesty but if you’re in Florida and there’s water there’s gators !
would boiling the water help?
It would probably help but then I would have to carry a stove and a cup. I managed you get used to the nasty water after a while.
85$ a night? 😆 Absolutely not! With the way that room look, I would expect them to charge no more than 50-60$ a might
It was nasty but I made it work. Good to see you back here still watching 👀. Hope all is well

Snail trail 😂😂😂.. I guess you just don't want to know 🤣
It's always better to just not know!
Complain complain complain and totally boring, thank goodness for other channels to enjoy watching.
Yeah exactly because you sit on your couch doing nothing but watching. Thanks for the comments..😂
When I close my eyes I'd swear I'm listening Bam Margera hiking! lol Is that a Phillie accent?
Bam is from the county outside Philly, but yes I'm from Philly
