Taskmaster is such an interesting character, he never wants to rule or get after a opponent, just wants to get the job done, vanish, or just learn something, and antagonize while doing it. Since Tasky is in the MCU now, they may join the Thunderbolts, which is clearly a thing they're doing lol
It’s obvious Zemo is going to play the Norman Osborn role but damn so I wish we could just have Osborn. It’s like if Hush took Lex Luthors spot.

Ronin she's a comicbook character from the Daredevil stories who was the same copying abiliity of Taskmaster what you would know if you had read the comics or had researched it before coming here to speak bullshit about something you obviously don't know anything about.

I was first introduced to Taskmaster in the Ultimate Spider-Man episode "Why I Hate The Gym", and he became more of a threat as time went on in the series.
I also saw Taskmaster in the Nick Spencer Spider-man series and he was acting like a comic relief character than a menacing one, and he also teamed up with Black Ant and have a buddy cop relationship.
The ultimate spider man cartoon introduced a lot of characters I never heard of. I never for the life of me thought that there is a super hero named squirrel girl or a d list like villain called Batroc the leaper.
Ultimate Spider-Man acted as a portal for me into introduction of marvel. Ofcourse i knew about spider-man before but the extent they introduced the characters without feeling bloated was awesome. Even though critically it isn't the best, due to this reason it will be a nostalgic piece for me
Taskmaster was actually amazing in Ultimate Spider-Man and that first appearance sold me on his character
My introduction to Taskmaster was Ultimate Spider-Man too, and I really liked him. I hated how uninteresting she was in Black Widow

The thing is that the movie is actually really good. It’s just taskmaster that was a massive failure. Each character was interesting, on top Yelena being pretty funny. They just did my boy, I’m sorry, girl wrong.
My favorite Taskmaster fight is against Slapstick. He tries using his copying power against a literal living cartoon and ends up contorting himself so bad it cracks his spine.
The one thing I remember from taskmaster is that in avengers academy he meets his daughter and tells her he doesn’t remember her because the way his powers work he constantly has to get rid of memories in order to retain all the things he learns and he just gets rid of things he doesn’t need anymore which is the coldest thing you can say to someone
he didn't mean it that way, he has no control over what he remembers or forgets, his daughter Finese also forgets her daughter as we see when the Reptile of the present switches minds with his future self, and she clearly doesn't like it but can't do anything to stop it.

I sorta bummed that Tasky is in Black Widow as opposed to say, an Ant-Man movie, where it seems like his more fun aspects could really be let loose. He's a character you can introduce and then have him pop up in ANY movie or TV show you want, and I'm afraid that's not gonna happen.

They gender swapped them, made them basically have no personality and, as always, powers come from technology. Basically gave them the Ghost treatment. Atleast she survived but I doubt she'll be around more.

Tony's one of that characters that I've barely actually seen or read in anything, but absolutely love anyway. Can't wait to see where he goes in the MCU and beyond post Black Widow

@@spectre3926 While I agree that Taskmaster is nothing like the books, I don't think 'feminism' was the reason. They did it because they thought it fit the story, and I think it did. I do agree tho that going forward they need to make the character much more like that character in the books personality-wise so they can stay more interesting for a longer time

It's a shame the Black Widow movie screwed up with Taskmaster so bad.
Loved his MvC Appearence. It was super fitting that he used modified versions of other characters moves, mixed with some of his own. He was really fun.
Taskmaster explains he doesn't want to be an A-list villain: It's bad for business to have that much exposure. He's one of the most practical villains, too. He'll get outta dodge before he takes on the Avengers. Prison is bad for business too.
Tasky is a BAMF. His solo comics are underrated

Taskmaster is like the Galactus of Street Level heroes, he can do so much and so effortlessly he's an impossible obstacle for anyone that doesn't know how to deal with him.
Also his endless arsenal of powers can be sumarized in two words; Photographic Reflexes and Power Cosmic.
Taskmaster is so underrated at least in my opinion.

Drake, I wanna acknowledge how much better you deliver the comedy in your videos. I remember when I first started watching years ago after near every joke you'd say it and then it felt as if you were waiting for applause that wasn't there, meaning it would fall flat and get awkward quick. Now you shoot em out and move on and it works so so so much better

I don't know if anybody'd be looking through the comments for this, but Taskmaster's first appearance is also collected in Ant-Man: Scott Lang, which collects the first few issues of him. As someone who got it for Lang's sake, it was nice to also get the origin of Taskmaster, too.
Honestly, what really sells me on task-master is how chill he seems.
Like one time he was going up against deadpool and in the middle of the street and a guy in a wheelchair came close and said "hey¡ could you stop blocking the middle of the street and let me go to work" and he was all like "of course, right this way sir" or that other time he was fighting punisher and was holding a pretty amiable conversation with him about Guns " eh, They’re not really my style. (...) to each their own I guess"
I'm also pretty sure he at one point had a conversation that went something like:
"Why are you evil?"
"Taxes Man, I gotta pay them"

he is slowly making his way in video games and television, the most impactful appearance from him in my opinion was in marvel vs capcom 3 where steve blum gave him a cool brookyn accent.

My first contact with Tasky was on Gail Simone/Deadpool issues. One of my favorite characters
I was first introduced to Task Master in a Spiderman cartoon, Web Warriors to be specific. In that, he was the central antagonist for an arc and was represented as a mastermind. Since his arc was short, it could be that he can create short term plans that benefit himself.
Nick Spencer's Spider-Man run was what introduced me to Taskmaster properly and I fell in love with the guy and his wonderful friendship with Black Ant.
My introduction to Taskmaster was UMVC3. “You can’t run away! YOU’RE IN FOR A WORLD OF HURT!”

I first heard about Taskmaster in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. I thought he was really cool and then when I started reading more about him he became one of my favourite comic book villains. He’s also the main reason why I’m excited for Black Widow.

The way that he can mimic people's combat Maneuvers in the middle of a fight. I like how we got to see it mirrored by Tony Stark in action when fighting Cap in the MCU Civil War. I'm ready to see their version of Taskmaster. Thanks for this breakdown you reminded me of a few things and I even learned a couple things as well.
The MCU version spits in the face of all this.
If I were to describe it, the butcher comic Taskmaster for his hide, and have it literally worn by someone else... a different character who actually does exist in the comic as a widow specific villain. Yet since that character had nothing better going for them, the MCU decided to take the Taskmaster name, and the "concept of what he can do" and attach it to that other character.
So this video - none of it is relevant in the context of the mcu. Nothing said here about Taskmaster is accepted canon by the general non comic reading public.
Does anyone know what his company was called? The one that’s like cameo but with superheroes?

Nothing better for a long lasting relation that bonding over how much of terible person each other is. That way when they inevitably backstab each other they forgive the other just as easily. Thats the basis of a true friendship.

I’ve only seen Taskmaster in ultimate Spider-Man and for some reason he’s one of my favorite villains. I have a feeling he’s going to die, but hopefully the actor gives a good enough performance so marvel can put him in What If
I've seen Taskmaster in a couple cartoons and SHSO, I know his two biggest weaknesses, his memory capacity (which apparently was somehow hampered after taking super soldier serum, making the weakness even worse than it was before) and Deadpool. Also apparently Alex Hayden, I have no idea who that is but he's apparently as unpredictable as Deadpool.
Don't forget Moon Knight they fought during Moon Knight's solo in 2006.
I think Taskmaster could be a A list villain if written correctly but he serves as a great upper B list villain that works for the main villain and is the top hench man

The Taskmaster has been one of my favorites for so long. I though he was just a copy fighter who just mirror matches everyone he fights, but ever since one of his earlier solo comics where he demonstrates that he can mix and match skills from countless sources on the fly, I became truly enamored with his abilities. Even that one time when he sped up his movements from watching movies in fast-forward. It just kills me that in almost every comic I've seen him in, he ends up losing. Sure, he can't kill the heroes, but his skills are so rad that it takes me out when he loses to his own overconfidence or inability to copy dance moves.

The first time I saw him I thought his skull face was permanent and not a mask. Thought he had a skull face like the red skull.
If I was writing him I would make him in charge of mercenary company acting as a villain version of Heroes for Hire and call them something like Henchmen for Hire it would give the marvel universe a ready source of henchman to use in any scenario.

I was introduced to Taskmaster back when Avengers Academy was on the AppStore. I absolutely loved him and then I watched the Spiderman episode with him. And I love how he popped up in the Spiderman game on PS4 and I’m excited to see him in the Black Widow movie. I think he’s just so cool and I’m so close to cosplaying as female version of him

Man hearing his origin here and seeing him in the ultimate spider-man cartoon series made me think that he is a very interesting villain but mcu's take on this character is just, imo, disappointing
Surprised you didn’t bring up his weakness as well. While he can copy any fighting style or move he can’t fight those from the future or heroes like Deadpool or moon knight because they have no specific style or in moon knights case more willing to take a punch then dodge it.
I am so hyped about him being the MCU I really really want him to appear in a Deadpool movie since the dynamic between the two is so good in the comics

@@Gabe600 If I remember correctly in his early appearance taskmaster took down the avengers but they were saved by a hero who had come from the future and since he had never seen her style before he was unable to beat her. I might be misremembering that I do apologize if I am wrong
