In this video titled EU4 A to Z - They Said THIS NATION Is UNPLAYABLE I do a playthrough as Epirus in Europa Universalis 4 1.33 France. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Epirus , and I attempt to form the nation of The Two Sicilies and the form the nation of Greece. So let's see if I managed to do it! If you use the favors action “ask to prepare for war” it adds 20 reasons for people to join your war for 10 favors.
20 I think. The tooltip really should say how much it is, if it doesn't bring them over the brink it's literally worthless
@@WlatPziupp i belive its 10 favors for 5 trust and each trust gives 1 reason so after the diplo rep guy Hawk could definitely have gotten aragon in at the expense of delayed provinces

prepare for war can't be done if you are already at war. Trust above 50 will work however.
When making a rival a vassal, make them end their rivalry with you in the peace deal, then you won’t get the “vassalized by rival” modifier
That "attitude towards enemies" modifier may as well be called the "fuck you" modifier
With 10 favors you can use the Lower Opinion favor and then the modifier goes away (unless they have +150 opinion without being allies, which should be rare).

@@connortheandroidsentbycybe7740 in the tone and context of 'fuck you' (lol) the reduce opinion action is usually a 'no u' to the fuck you, though it's tough maintaining the favors aspect to warring. I've always thought a favors window should be added to the declare war screen, to further use said favors when calling allies into war

@@AaM-tl9sp Navarra is not hard to play actually. just dev up and ally the rivals of castille/aragon; then bring them in. you can easily get france and aragon as allies and then war castille
You should have traded favours for trust to get Aragon to join the war.
I suppose he used a lot of favors to take Napoli's cores back...
@@kostasmrk6205 16:08 You can see that he got 19 favours ready in the sidebar at the time when he was attempting to call them in. Using 10 to increase the trust and then waiting a few months to reach 10 to call them in would have done the trick.

With Ethiopia I think a historical revival could be good: defeat all the Italian nations(one time is enough) and conquer Roma
16:00, you could have spend 10 favors to increase your trust with aragon by 5. Each trust points above 50 increases reasons to join offensive wars by one.

With the attitude modifier you can use favors to reduce opinion and that usually works!
Never worked for me, but I guess that's EU4 for you.
@@Rommel12 They have to be under a threshold of opinion, but it has worked for me like 70% of the time. Considering the problem was Ottomans/catholics, the reduce opinion would probably work this time.
@@Galaron100 I've had catholic nations with sub -100 relations with the Ottomans keep that relations modifier to joining wars more times than I care to count. I've also had nations with red coloured provinces of interests in the target nation and relations in the negatives maintain the relations modifier to joining wars.
So while it SHOULD work, it clearly doesn't. At least not whenever I try to use it.

If you have an ally close to helping you out in a war you can trade favors for trust (if you're not already at a 100 trust).
Each 5 trust above 50 will give an ally +5 reason to join you in a war if i recall correctly.

You can curry favors with your strong allies, then ask them to reduce opinion of a certain nation, anf then prepare for war, that gives you a shit load of reasons for them to join your offensive wars
Shocked to say but this is probably one of the few series on UA-cam that I've actually watched in full and watch every single episode

You can reduce opinion for 10 favors to get rid of 'attitude towards enemies' modifier. It usually helps but sometimes it's a bit broken as everything else in eu4

It's a shame that Ethiopa is an end-game tag, because forming Israel is fun. I guess you could release Semien as a vassal and feed them the provinces but I'm not sure if vassals can take the decision or if the AI would want to.

Need to use the "reduce opinion" thing under favors to get Poland / Aragon hating Otto again.
Idk if it has been already written here, but you could have traded 10 of your favors to trust with Aragon to get the modifier +X (1, 2 or 5 idk right now) for them to join war (you had 19 favors when declaring war, get it to 20, spend 10 on trust and 10 on calling to war) 16:17 (when ally has trust over 50 it is more willing to join offensive war on your side)
and with higher trust (over 50) countries are more willing to become vassal and so on, but with vassalization it is +1 for each 5 trust over 50 i think.

0:29 Epirus was originally. a Byzantine Greek state but it was largely settled by greeks by the time the game started

unfortunately that religion pie chart shows number of provinces, not dev. to convert by accepting rebel demands, its has to be majority dev. wish they'd change that.

Ethiopia has the Prestor John Achievement obviously, which isn't that hard if you take your time. Don't take your time, and own Constantinople, Alexandria, and Antioch before 1550.
