You know how Croatia has denied Bosnia access to the sea? Why not do it to the entire Balkan peninsula? Maybe even Italy? Maybe the entire Mediterranean? (Mediterranean only if you want to suffer lol)
pretty sure bosnia has access to the sea, it's a pretty small coast but still a coast. or I guess if you're talking about in eu4 they do deny bosnia a coast
If you ever read this thank you very much! I know there are a lot of nation in season 3 but as I am Croatian I would really like that you play well Croatia, so here some advices: -You can fight the independence after the first month, you just need to ask Poland to support independence (it is not very difficult you take the +25 relation because of religion and if they are rival with hungary they will support you, if they are not rival take a diplomatic reputation guy). Very important that you do all this in first day befor Poland gets other allies. -You can ask also Lithuania but first wait for the Poland-Lithuania event and ask afterwards -During war: prepare spy network with serbia, search for allies -Peace out Austria as fast as possible -Peace deal: Take the gold mine in Nitra-region and a border with Serbia -Have a claim on Serbia go to war and take Kosovo if you manage to get two gold mines you are unstopable -Next war: Byzanthium if still exist or Venice (take city of Venice and Istria and make Venice you mane trade Node)
"Forts in the area" means you have to occupy at least one fort that's connected by land. (Idk if straights count) It's basically to prove that you can reach the area and there's not naval/military access blocking you.
As Croatia, try colonizing Argentina and, more importantly, Chile. A large part of their populations have Croatian ancestry (especially Chile which currently even has a Croatian president). Also because Chile is just one big coastline which denies BOlivia sea access... just like Croatia denies BOsnia sea access.
@@dakedakinson64 The Croats migrated to South America back in the 19th century. Same time when they also migrated to the US and Canada where there's at least 1.5 million people of Croatian heritage.

Good forts could have helped immensely here. Flatland forts makes such a difference for hordes, no more bad fights, no more enemies sieging down the homeland in no time, just good times all around. Oh, and I don't think the AI understands the horde flatland bonus so they take stupid fights all the time. Eastward expansion also gives trade companies which gives tons of merchants. I know you don't like minmaxing, at least not in this series, but man forts are just so damned fantastic
He could've built a fort in Abkhazia(province between black sea and Caucasus mountain range) and in Gazikumukh area. It would block ottoman armies. Placing navy in Marmara sea would also block ottoman navy. Still great game though :D
very good advice. Horde is unique that flat land forts are good. Mountains forts are also good -2 roll sometimes more than compensate your loss from shock damage. In my ilkhanate game I took defensive idea and it worked pretty well. Of course defensive is a bad pick for horde usually but it's fun to mess around sometimes
@@bronzedisease Mountains are... fine. More of a last resort though. Usually there's some place flat to fort up. Of course if it was between hills and mountains the latter is the obvious choice even as a horde. Though going against the obvious choices can be a lot of fun
@@WlatPziupp yeah -2 rolls is a massive advantage even if you have to eat the 25% shock damage debuff. The debuff doesnt matter as much late game as at least half of your damage will come from cannons. you can also use a specific infantry only stack to fight in those terrain. Their damage profile is more balanced unlike cav focusing on shock.
Croatia has an achievement called Krabater where you form Croatia and place a cav unit in Stockholm... makes me wonder if as Croatia, you can form another nation, then reform Croatia, then place the cav unit to get the achievement. If you're just forming and reforming the same country, that's gotta be a waste of resources. Sounds like a bankruptcy incoming.
Ideas for your Croatia run: 1. A croatian man became president of Chile recently, so maybe you could form Croatian Chile 2. Croatia is know for it's coast, so maybe you should go and grab all the coastline of the mediterranean, including all the islans (keep only the inland provinces you get at the start. 3. If the first and second one seem to hard, long or boring, try simply reforming Austria-Hungary WW1 borders (bonus points if you are the emperor at the time)
This is so cursed, I love it. I suppose at the end, it didn't matter how much land you lost as long as you were still able to defeat and vassalize the Ottomans.
TBH, one reason I love these A-Z challenges is because they come closest to reproducing how history actually works. Some crazy dictator decides to bite off more than they can chew. From great success they suddenly come crashing down in failure. Player games don't normally see these extremes because AIs and players are both too logical. But you Red Hawk don't fucking care and I love it.
This run? Bordergore and unicorns! How in the hell in a game AI just pops up Morea, Corfu, Padua, Eretna, Zaphorote, Montenegro and Syria at the same sime!
As croatians are known for their war crimes conquer Geneva and rename it to genevan’t so they can legally commit them. Also as a secondary goal culture convert all Serbian provinces so the war crime is completed
the way the return core or give a province control to a vassal works is cool, you get to chose between lower war cost but higher AE impact per province or low AE but higher war score
Use enter button to clear pop ups it won't declare or anything on the side tab screen. Seen you and others do this I figured that out a month or two ago 👍
Nice one RH, always thought you could do it, loved the old style bankruptcy, internal conflicts and accidental wars. Maybe you should do it every campaign
My current game has AI mamluks in control of Constantinople and an almost dead Russia. Very happy to see that the changes they made actually effected major tag survivability.
So anyway. There's this thing called pixelplace, which is basically a painting and anybody can place pixels on it. There are multiple paintings, but everybody just plays on the modern borders one. There's also this grey color that is very similar to the border division color. So a person consistently comes multiple times a day, makes a light blue independent Crimea with some additional Russian territory in it, then leaves. Everyday. They have been doing it for God knows how long.
Okay SO Croatia has a dumb achievement where you have to station a cavalry unit in Stockholm. This is because when Sweden had their military reforms they adopted the use of Croat Cavalry to fight the Commonwealth and the HRE. In game it was harder when Croatia didn't exist in 1444 but it's super easy because you just ask everyone for mil access SOOOOO how about you do a fun version of that achievement and actually *conquer* Stockholm? It's quite far from you at the start, you're going to have to get independent from Hungary, etc... could lead to some silly shenanigans.

I have played Crimea more than any other nation, I love their start position- so many options! Playing Byzantium at the time of this comment... I have Spain and Austria (which annexed Hungary) in a PU in 1560 and it's way too easy- one of the craziest games I've played!

Why do you unconditional surrender when the warscore is just slightly negative? Why not check what they want in a suggested peace deal? Besides that, very fun video!
Given how you play, as in taking one loan to pay off another, do you, in your entire game (however long that may be) ever stay in the black? Or is it a constant war until either the game ends, or bankruptcy catches up with you?
