Im sure there is a market for this in every country. From experience it can take years of playing around to perfect a wheelie, mostly from fear of destroying an expensive street bike you love. Bicycles and beater dirt bikes helped get it going when i was younger. Never had a beater street bike so being as good as i am now on any bike, with wheelies being second nature and happen regularly not by accident. It was a 25 year progression. It can take a long time. That's great if you can do that, hat off to you. A lot of people lack confidence and also don’t have a safe place to pull wheelies. @@thatbikersimon my bike doesn't have enough torque to go up if i momentarily press the clutch, (z650). I have to hold the clutch down longer Mind you, i could also be doing it wrong.
I learned on a dirt bike, and it wasn't this approach. Just threw caution to the wind falling down a lot, but dirt bikes are a lot cheaper and the ground is much softer than pavement. Once I got pretty good with the dirt bike, it was only a small learning curve to get on a street bike. To me the hardest part was getting past the feeling that the wheel was higher than it actually is. I'm still not great at them, but good enough to have some good fun.
This day is designed to be safe and basically get people to pop a wheelie to build confidence. There’s many other ways to wheelie a bike but these no place in the uk like this. It’s a fun day out at a great price. 👍
I only tried riding a wheelie one time on my street bike and my oil light came on and started blinking. I stopped and checked it and it was full. That was probably 35 years ago and I've never tried since
That’s the same for me a was a teenager when I was trying to wheelie bikes. I never thought il be trying again 30 years later, but this place is a brilliant set up for having a go. 👍
I would love to do this. I have a MT 07 and i pull my wheelies in 2nd without clutch just throttle and rear break if needed. But i feel im doing a disservice by not learn clutch up. Id love to do one of these days
You should do it, you wouldn’t regret it. The Mt07 is a perfect bike for wheeling, and it would probably have more punch that theses bikes. The wheelie school is just a good fun day all round.
Cheers Bud..!! I can now see why it worth a second visit. There’s not a better feel than building that confidence up and carrying it through. Don’t get me wrong I don’t plan on wheeling the streets (much lol) but you come away absolutely buzzing from this experience. Many thanks for your comments Steve 👍
Yes I agree, we are luck to have this in the uk. I think theses guys have 3 now and it’s only a could of hours away from me, so il be back again for another go. It’s also great value for money £250 /$300 for a full day including bikes/instructors I think it’s a bargain and an amazing fun day out. 👍

They came as the set with the jacket, so you should be able to match them. My suit is at my workplace, Il have look when I go over next. This wheelie school is great fun. I’m sure il be going again next year and welcome to the channel 👍
These are the ZX6R but Streetfightered the rear sprocket have gone up a size or two to help with the lift. Great place for sure. Thanks for the comment 👍
been riding for many years, I have a 2001 FZ! Ivans kit. The bike has power. The first time my friend rode my bike rode a wheel for 100 yards on it. Ive always been scared to do them....but want to. looks like the 2nd gear throttle up is the way. so basically your just tapping the clutch right? Great video!
It’s definitely worth booking on if you live in the uk. Otherwise just try and follow my video, but remember one step at a time. In the video we had over 150 goes over the day so be patient with yourself. 🏍️💨💨💨💨
Learning to wheelie too but I'm in of a crash cage. I only know good brands in US. Could anylne recommend good quality crash cage in EU please? Struggling to bring the bike up to balance point but was using a different clutch technique, can't wait to try this tomorrow, thanks for sharing 😊
Sure, if you're looking for a crash cage in the EU, you might want to check out brands like R&G Racing, Puig, or SW-Motech. They offer good quality crash protection for your bike. Best of luck with your wheelie practice!
@thatbikersimon Many thanks for the quick response:) In most videos guys fully clutch, in your video it is a small quick one, I tried both and my bike barely comes up, I think I am bot doing the gas movement right. Do you let the gas go when you clutch or still pulling the gas and give it a bit more when you clutch?
It’s impossible with the wand they use on the bike. It’s realy safe. I’m going again in a couple of weeks with my buddy who’s 72 years old for a first time
Good turtorial, I'm trying to wheel my GSR750, the problem is I feel a little unsafe trying it at like 50-60mph but in first gear the suzuki got way to much power to let the clutch slip it's like pulling of a backflip😅
I'm glad you found the tutorial helpful! Wheelies can be challenging, especially on a powerful bike like the GSR750. Safety should always be the priority. You might want to practice in a controlled environment like an empty parking lot and gradually build up your confidence and skills before attempting wheelies at higher speeds. Definitely use 2nd gear or even 3rd. Stay safe out there!
2nd gear wheelies on a 750 is reaching highway speed. I learnt by going about 40-50kmph in 1st on my gsxr750, she comes up real nice and only needs about 20% throttle to maintain it just below balance point@@thatbikersimon
It’s not too much power. It’s throttle control. Even at higher speeds as the wheel comes up you need very fine throttle control. If you can’t do it in first then you’ll likely flip it in higher gears. No substitute for practice. Just like this video shows.
Thanks matey, I’ve been riding for officially for about 28 years, it’s cost about £250 for the day but for that you get full instruction/bikes/fuel/ snacks well worth every penny. Get yourself booked on you won’t regret it.

I can just about get my elbow down, love trackdays but ive never been tempted to get into wheelies on a motorbike. This is odd as love wheelieing my Big Rippee 29er bmx. Somehow i view it as dangerous which is also odd given how fast i ride on the road sometimes.
It's interesting how our perception of danger can vary between different activities. Riding a motorbike and doing wheelies on a BMX bike can indeed feel very different, even if they both have their own risks. Safety and personal preferences play a big role in how we approach these hobbies, I find my newest bikes harder to wheelie, perhaps I know I can’t afford to drop them 😂
@@thatbikersimon hey you responded! Thanks ! So , I am getting decent at power wheelies in first - this video is helping for sure , since I believe I will have greater success in second because less torque and more throttle leeway . Thanks for the video - I hope you continue to post more !
How much wear does this put on the clutch ?. When I was a kid I used to be able to sit on my back wheel on my bmx for ages but doing it on a motorbike I think I’d shit myself just because of the flipping it factor.
I think the clutch wear is very minimal because it’s literally a little tap to bring the bike up, the device on the back of the bike stops the bike going over, it very safe if you follow the procedure
So I have the same bike it’s a Kawasaki z1000 an I’ve been looking to put a crash bar on the side but I don’t know where to get them for that bike need some help
On my V4 2nd or 3rd will work fine. You’ve just got to have a little play with it and see what suits you and the bike. Just take your time and don’t rush it. Ride safe buddy 👍🏍️💨💨💨
The gearbox is standard but the rear sprocket is bigger, I noticed on their stunt bike it’s realy big, to give the bien the initial lift. I’m unsure if the front sprocket was different.
my gixxer (2005 750) has 75k kms now and still using original clutch. I think it depends how much you ride the clutch, it needs to be a quick pop like in an instant
I was never much of a wheelie guy but found it easy to do nice power wheelies on my old GS1100ET, back in the day. About a 4 or 5k WOT short-shift to 2nd would pull a nice wheelie as I was going around you...
You shouldn’t need more throttle because you’ve already accelerated up to speed, so popping the clutch should be sufficient for the lift, and then it’s just a case of throttle control, rolling on and rolling off to maintain the wheelie.
It would be safer to learn a “slow balance point wheelie” in a smaller bike, when you are constantly on the balance point and control it with throttle and rear break. This speedie power wheelie looks more dangeroues it wont make anybody a good wheelie guy. Am i wrong? But of course it has a faster progression in the beginning and make a big smile on your face.
when attempting a "slow balance point wheelie," the size of the bike doesn't automatically guarantee safety. Smaller bikes can be twitchier and more sensitive to throttle and brake inputs, which could actually make it harder for a beginner to find and maintain the balance point. A larger bike, with its increased weight and more gradual power delivery, could potentially provide a more stable platform for learning wheelies. a "speedie power wheelie" isn't necessarily more dangerous if performed under controlled conditions, such as a closed course with proper safety gear and under the guidance of experienced riders or instructors. The thrill and confidence gained from successfully performing a power wheelie can also be beneficial for a rider's learning curve, encouraging them to continue improving their skills. Interesting point though. I appreciate other opinions, I Never did wheelies as a youth but I’ve done wheelie school twice and found it very safe and easy under instruction. 👍
@@thatbikersimon Thanks for the detailed answer, my comment didnt want to be a criticism i was just wondering which one could be better / faster / safer. I should have used the “less powerful” bike words instead of “smaller” but I got your point that a heavier bike can be more stable. When I started to learn wheelie I had taken a course where I could use something called “wheelie machine” like this: motobsk.com/wp-content/uploads/BSK2204-wheelie-machine-ultra-motobsk-wheelie-trainer-22.jpg It was a really great tool to get use to the feeling of falling behind the balance point and use the rear break to decrease and stop it. First time it was really scary, everybody lift their legs up from the pegs and gave up whats happening to the fortune. But of course after you had removed the machine from your bike the next struggle started: keep the bike straight😃 That was my way to start learning it but either way wheelie schools should be much more common all over the world because its pure fun of doing it and this is most important 😃 Sorry I am not a native english speaker but I hope you understood me.
do these bikes have bigger rear sprockets? I have tried following the instructions to a tee on my 636 and I cannot get good results, I can power wheelie it all day in 1st, but have to start at 40mph, to even slightly lift the wheel in 2nd with clutch I am 60+
I’m in Australia 🇦🇺 Melbourne but if I want to learn wheelie but I can not find the wheelie school yet ? And your wheelie school it looks like from the US right ?
it's good, but this is teaching you how to chase a wheelie - not a real wheelie.. much slower progress. They should get the wheelie machine and have you guys reaching BP at slow speeds and getting used to the rear brake. Anybody that leaves this class and try's to wheelie on a busy street, but gives it more throttle - they're gonna wreck.
I get what you’re saying but I think wheelie school is a first step if building yourself up for the next level. Wheelies on modern bikes would make it easier with wheelie control modes. I guess the benefit for the school is you get the opportunity to have plenty of runs at it. I had over 150 goes on the day and you can’t do that in the road. For me personally I wouldn’t want to get into the Habit of doing it on the road as I known guys lose there license for dangerous riding. I’ve had a go on the wheelie machine and it’s great for helping with the back brake. I shall return to the school again next year jusy becauce it’s a fun day out great value for money.
@@thatbikersimon I would use this school & bike and immediately practice bringing it up to balance point at slower speeds - all that going fast and chasing it out - its gonna take you soooo long to learn - this would be the better option to start with, I learned how to ride my wheelies at balance point on my 2021 R1 in 2 days using this ua-cam.com/video/DU2I5v-FwY8/v-deo.html

@@thatbikersimon No doubt. This looks like a really good way to learn. I was just pointing out my different experience.
awesome job!
Thanks Patrick. I guess practice makes perfect in this case 👍
Totaled my bike after watching this .
Maybe you need to book on a next level wheelie corse
I would love to do this. I have a MT 07 and i pull my wheelies in 2nd without clutch just throttle and rear break if needed. But i feel im doing a disservice by not learn clutch up. Id love to do one of these days
You should do it, you wouldn’t regret it. The Mt07 is a perfect bike for wheeling, and it would probably have more punch that theses bikes. The wheelie school is just a good fun day all round.
Nice sir🏍️🤟🏼
Thank you! 👍
Brilliant 11mins 30 seconds u smashed it
Cheers Bud..!! I can now see why it worth a second visit. There’s not a better feel than building that confidence up and carrying it through. Don’t get me wrong I don’t plan on wheeling the streets (much lol) but you come away absolutely buzzing from this experience. Many thanks for your comments Steve 👍
@@thatbikersimon I’ve always wanted do it I’ve leant myself on my twin Africa recently in Asda car parks lol it’s dct
Definitely could used some schools like that here
Yes I agree, we are luck to have this in the uk. I think theses guys have 3 now and it’s only a could of hours away from me, so il be back again for another go. It’s also great value for money £250 /$300 for a full day including bikes/instructors I think it’s a bargain and an amazing fun day out. 👍
@@thatbikersimon $300 for a full day that's a good deal. In the U.S would probably be 3 to 4 times that since it's all about money here
Looks wicked, how much was experience ?

Looks like a great time. Good fun man. I have thes same jacket as youI. Those pants look good matched up with it. If you don't mind what pants are they? New subscriber as well man.
They came as the set with the jacket, so you should be able to match them. My suit is at my workplace, Il have look when I go over next. This wheelie school is great fun. I’m sure il be going again next year and welcome to the channel 👍

I like the top yoke and risers on your bike, do you know if it would fit a 1988 GPX?
Sorry I honestly wouldn’t know as these were hired bikes
What model Kawasaki are these practice bikes based on? Great video! Wish there was a place like this in The States!
These are the ZX6R but Streetfightered the rear sprocket have gone up a size or two to help with the lift. Great place for sure. Thanks for the comment 👍
Great video..👍🏼😎
Many thanks. 👍
I want those 13 minutes back 😅
Definitely
been riding for many years, I have a 2001 FZ!
@@thatbikersimon thank you. It’s not my nature to rush 😎
of all places to place the 360 camera, on the front?? anyway, loved the video still ha. clutch tip is super important
Thanks buddy glad you enjoyed it
So start off in 2nd give it gas up to 6000-7500 rpm and blip the clutch? Stay in 2nd?
This is correct we don’t change gear. The trick is rolling on and off the throttle when your up and just building a bit of confidence each time.
Thats awesome im 47 and just would love to learn just don't want to loop the bike
Just like this video shows.
top vid mate really enjoyed watching it question how many years you been riding also how much it cost ??
Thanks matey, I’ve been riding for officially for about 28 years, it’s cost about £250 for the day but for that you get full instruction/bikes/fuel/ snacks well worth every penny. Get yourself booked on you won’t regret it.
cheers ive only had my big bike 6 months so it will be a thing in the future i would like to get another year at the very least under me cheers for the info keep the vids coming

@@David-rp9ey that’s a shame, I hoping to introduce some bike meet videos in the near future. So hopefully you can enjoy these ones here. Ride safe 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Safety and personal preferences play a big role in how we approach these hobbies, I find my newest bikes harder to wheelie, perhaps I know I can’t afford to drop them 😂
I wheelied a bobcat once (the small tractor 🚜 trailer )
Nice one 👍
@@thatbikersimon hey you responded! Thanks ! So , I am getting decent at power wheelies in first - this video is helping for sure , since I believe I will have greater success in second because less torque and more throttle leeway .
Thanks for the video - I hope you continue to post more !
Is it throttle THEN clutch? or throttle AND clutch at the same time??
Once you’ve accelerated up to speed you then cluch up while’s maintaining the speed
@@thatbikersimonare they geared higher (the practice bikes) ?
How much wear does this put on the clutch ?. When I was a kid I used to be able to sit on my back wheel on my bmx for ages but doing it on a motorbike I think I’d shit myself just because of the flipping it factor.
I think the clutch wear is very minimal because it’s literally a little tap to bring the bike up, the device on the back of the bike stops the bike going over, it very safe if you follow the procedure
Had to teach myself how do em.
Your obviously a natural, I’ve never had the natural talent but got mates that can just do it 👍
@@thatbikersimon i transferred from Skateboarding... everything from getting hurt to dealing with 12. related.
I look at it as being a blessed curse.
will this be possible on a 150? Specifically the MT-15?
Honestly I can’t say without ride it. I’m sure it’s possible on most bikes. It’s might be a case of more throttle and sitting right back in the seat.
Do they ever pull that wheelie bar off and graduate you to a 12 oclock rev bomb on the balance point?
Yes it can be set to off. I think some guys that have been a few times get to take it off
🏍👍
What is this thing behind rear wheel?
They call it the wand (anti flip device)
It can be adjusted over the day to game more hight without flipping the bike.
How it works? It cuts the ignition?
@@kacperj2 yes exactly that, cuts one first so it’s not so heavy on the way back down.

Would 3rd better better on a Vtwin ?
On my V4 2nd or 3rd will work fine. You’ve just got to have a little play with it and see what suits you and the bike. Just take your time and don’t rush it. Ride safe buddy 👍🏍️💨💨💨
Been trying this all week thinking whys it not working for me, then realised today that my bike doesn't even have a clutch 😳
Lol 👍
Are these bikes stock gearing?
The gearbox is standard but the rear sprocket is bigger, I noticed on their stunt bike it’s realy big, to give the bien the initial lift. I’m unsure if the front sprocket was different.
Where is this place located?
They’ve got 3 sights I believe. Check the link below www.nextlevelwheelieschool.co.uk/
Don you wear down the clutch very fast when doing these clutch ups?
I guess your probably right but luckily for me these bikes are hired at the next level wheelie school.
my gixxer (2005 750) has 75k kms now and still using original clutch. I think it depends how much you ride the clutch, it needs to be a quick pop like in an instant
Fanning the clutch doesn’t cause much wear, besides clutch disks are cheap…relative to the bike
I was never much of a wheelie guy but found it easy to do nice power wheelies on my old GS1100ET, back in the day. About a 4 or 5k WOT short-shift to 2nd would pull a nice wheelie as I was going around you...
Sounds like you had some thrilling moments with your GS1100ET! Wheelies can be quite a rush, especially with that much power.
@@thatbikersimon I was very lucky to have survived those days...

wheelied my way out a stop light by accident one day, havent been able to replicate xD
Lol I’ve done that a few times. This is where things like wheelie school can help.
So you keep throttle on and pop clutch dont give more throttle at same time as popping clutch
You shouldn’t need more throttle because you’ve already accelerated up to speed, so popping the clutch should be sufficient for the lift, and then it’s just a case of throttle control, rolling on and rolling off to maintain the wheelie.
Wish there was around my area
Do you live in the uk?
What bike is this ?
GSX Suzuki
When I started to learn wheelie I had taken a course where I could use something called “wheelie machine” like this: motobsk.com/wp-content/uploads/BSK2204-wheelie-machine-ultra-motobsk-wheelie-trainer-22.jpg
It was a really great tool to get use to the feeling of falling behind the balance point and use the rear break to decrease and stop it. First time it was really scary, everybody lift their legs up from the pegs and gave up whats happening to the fortune.
But of course after you had removed the machine from your bike the next struggle started: keep the bike straight😃
That was my way to start learning it but either way wheelie schools should be much more common all over the world because its pure fun of doing it and this is most important 😃
Sorry I am not a native english speaker but I hope you understood me.
Can you flip the bikes. Wicked video
No you can’t. Thanks

do these bikes have bigger rear sprockets? I have tried following the instructions to a tee on my 636 and I cannot get good results, I can power wheelie it all day in 1st, but have to start at 40mph, to even slightly lift the wheel in 2nd with clutch I am 60+
Yes the sprockets are a lot bigger on the back. Do you live in the uk? Its worth booking on a wheelie school course

I clutch up in second but nobody can teach you how to not poo yourself. So mine end up a foot at most off the ground.
Lol
Is he going to 2nd Gear by doing It?
@@amaterasu3340 I'm not sure, I start in second as you're obviously going faster. Scarey going faster but it's more stable
it's good, but this is teaching you how to chase a wheelie - not a real wheelie.. much slower progress.
@@thatbikersimon
I would use this school & bike and immediately practice bringing it up to balance point at slower speeds - all that going fast and chasing it out - its gonna take you soooo long to learn - this would be the better option to start with, I learned how to ride my wheelies at balance point on my 2021 R1 in 2 days using this
