A one-act version of Rogers: The Musical at Disney California Adventure has given audiences a new look at the Captain America story. This show, an expansion of the musical featured in the Hawkeye series on Disney+, has a mix of old and new songs, a cast of familiar characters, and a completely new take on the events of the time heist featured in Avengers: Endgame. Hector Navarro breaks down this musical song by song, and gives you some insight into how the show came together in the first place. Are the events of this musical further evidence that the MCU timeline has been fractured beyond repair? Are there endless Steve Rogers jumping across time? Will Nick Fury ever sing again?!

During the line “here I am now and also then” I looked at my daughter and started crying because it was like seeing myself as a child experiencing live theater for the first time. I know that’s not the intended message of the song, but damn if it didn’t wreck me!
Ant-Man _was_ at the battle of NY... in Endgame. Clearly someone spotted him during the time heist, and then years later, when he became publicly known, started the urban legend of Ant-Man being an Avenger in 2014.
He was! …but that was a different timeline, not the Sacred Timeline! = )
In the comics Hank Pym (Antman) was the original avenger alongside his wife Janet Van Dyne (Wasp).
So I thought maybe they are referring to that.
The scene with the two Steve's is absolutely my favorite for many reasons:
1. Such a great song.
2. Clever use of Skinny Steve's actor
3. The preformance, particulary from 'Old Steve'. Look up the moment he gets off that bench, he does something that makes him look aged, it's amazing.
That song is phenomenal! I thought the songs would be okay, but this one really hit me.
@@thenaiam In the beginning I thought: "Damn. They have this guy who is really good as Skinny Steve and they're only using him at the start." And then they did this, which is just marvelous.
I like to imagine the producers watch this and are just like uhhhh we didn’t try and do this but let’s just go with it.

My husband and I saw it yesterday and it was so much fun. We agreed we would see it as a full broadway musical. Great breakdown.

At first I was like, omg the Roger's musical of all things explains the ending of endgame. But then I remembered, the musical is fiction that gets a lot of details wrong
We saw Rogers the Musical in June on our trip to DCA/DL and it was so fun! My teenage son was even pumped about it. And it was admittedly a great way to get out of the sun for awhile
This sounds absolutely incredible, I would have loved the chance to see it live. Shame is is getting such a short run.

Yes, I Want You is the equivalent of a Disney Princess I Want song but to be more more precise, those elements that parallel Go the Distance from Hercules. Just listen to those horns!
Even back in Winter Soldier when they played a brief wistful fanfare at the museum I thought wow that sounds like Hercules. I think it's brilliant the way it ended up fulfilling that connection.

Since you made a note about "The Lion King" poster - an interesting story.... I took my family to NYC in April 2011 for my 50th birthday. As soon as we got to Times Square, where our hotel was - the streets were blocked off by cops all around. My sons went down to check it out - they saw Chris Evans and Samuel L Jackson doing a live shoot for the "Times Square" ending to First Avenger ! What a great moment! Afterwards we went out to dinner and caught a Broadway play we had gotten tickets for - The Lion King.
Maybe we can start a petition, so they can keep it at Disney, even expand more global locations for those of us who are not in the United States❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

The in universe public definitely know who was present in 2012s battle of New York as later in Hawkeye we see the memorial with Steve, Tony, Clint, Natasha, Bruce and Thor’s names
I love how meta Hawkeye got with the Rodgers Musical and Ms. marvel with the Avengers Con. They’ll be getting even more meta with Wonder Man.

I wish I could have gone to see this. Hopefully it will extend the run. I do expect this show to be added to the Disney Cruise Line “Marvel Day At Sea” itinerary as long as the DCA run was received well by the audience.

Antman was there during the battle of NY just not yet. I foresee the Avengers needing to protect the timelines that birth he who remains and since he sanctioned Tonys time travel I’m sure this is an important event the Avengers will need to ensure happens to make sure He Who remains universe lives and he can go onto conquer Alioth to destroy the conqueror like he’s always done. I can see a reverse time heist where the multiversal avengers ensure everything is in place during so the stealing of the stones in Endgame can happen and Tony can sacrifice himself. And Antman having gone back also in Endgame to the battle of NY also could explain his appearance if this doesn’t happen.

I don’t think so, good question though.
Timely was the name of Marvel Comics before they were named Marvel. Victor Timely’s name is a red to that, so it’s kind of a meta reference to each other.

theatre actors are unaffected by the actors strike, SAG-AFTRA us the Screen Actors Guild, US theatre actors are part of another union called AEA, Actors Equity Association

12:03 The Exposition of the World of Tomorrow is probably a reference to the "World of Tomorrow" which was the tagline for the 1939 World's Fair in New York City. It was called that because it was displaying a bunch of new revolutionary and futuristic technologies.

Act 2: Ironman 2 through Age of Ultron - Tony becomes an Avenger and has a fall when he tries to protect the earth
Act 3: Civil War through Endgame - Tony makes the ultimate sacrifice to save everyone
This looks much more entertaining than many of the MCU's recent offerings.
