Rewatching these to prep for Wandavision and I was just thinking how awesome it was for Stan Lee and Steve Dikto and everyone in the Marvel Comics to see their creations make it on the big screen, kids dressing up as their characters, having their comics go on and grow and loved, and that their creations are now a big part of our media history. It's really amazing and I can't wait for Phase 4!

A big part of the cave allegory is that if one person in the cave were able to free themselves and actually look upon the light directly, the others in the cave would not believe them because it was so far outside of the scope of the reality that they knew (a world of shadows cast upon a cave wall). It expresses how getting that enlightenment may end up causing you to suffer at the hands of the unenlightened (in the allegory i believe the person who gets free is actually killed by the others when he tells them about the outside, iirc.)

Okay... so did anyone else notice this? In the cave when Tony first refuses to build the Jericho rocket, he is immediately tortured with some light water boarding. During this scene there is a faint scream with Pepper shouting "Tony!" Then aprrox 2 frames of his arc reactor. Initially I thought that this was, in extreme stress, Tony thinking of a solution to escape the cave. However, this is actually a vision. This exact scene shows up at the end climax of the film when he defeats Warmonger. So I theorise that this was a premeditated vision given to him by non other than... KANG. As part of his manipulation of this universe. He needed Stark to survive so gave him a vision of what was to come. I'm not saying that this was the intentional plot so far back, but certainly a small detail that they could retcon into the overall MCU plot.
