How to change a mini bike tire
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 лис 2014
- Another video request on a tire change so I decided to make a video on it. sorry about the terrible video quality...but a shoutout to my friend Charlie aka Major Minibikers he's just starting his channel and makes great videos, you can check his channel out: / @majorminibikers9143
Warm water with a little bit of dish washing detergent will make removal and replacing the tire on the rim much easier. Use a brush, swap or just spray it on liberally and your job will go much easier. The detergent is not going to damage the rubber like petroleum oil can.
8 years later.. thanks for the help I’ll have to watch your most recent videos now! Keep it up!
The hardest part which they don't show is when the old tire is basically frozen on the bead and you really have to tear into it to get it off the bead. That's the hard part. Having tire removal tools like they had also helps big time. But large flat heads will do.. The other part that is difficult is getting the new tire on the second side of the rim, it slips on the first side easy, you need someone to hold it down with their foot and you need oil to help it slip on.
Lastly I tried the flame trick to seal the bead and it did not work for me, so I just used a powerful air compressor at around 100 psi and shot air in really fast and it popped into place. Actual ATV tires are a bit harder to put on then one of those flat style tires that look like their for a tractor. At the end of the day it can be done, but if you do this by yourself without having it installed you will scratch up the inside of the rim a bit and the edges, which ins't that serious as long as you don't dent the rim or damage the new tire going on. Your hands will also be a bit scratched/banged up.
Conclusion: job complete new tire is on rim and sealed and at 10 psi.
In the future I'll probably just have it installed professionally in 5 minutes and pay the 15 bucks or whatever it is.
Lol saw this on another video, thanks for the advice brother
I'll prob just start stomping on it
@@ogujkidd8353 Nah, just run the tire portion over with one of your car tires. Save yourself the aggravation.
🎯 I could totally do this…..but why? Going to the tire shop😂
He's doing a great job at least he posted it to help people out
if you're strapped for cash do this but a tire shop will probably do this for you for like 10$ and it'll take them like 2 minutes
Like
he forgot to put the chain back on .now the tire has to come back of or tank the link apart lol
Taking the clip off the master link isn't rocket science. Takes 2 seconds.
@@TT4ME that’s what I was about to say
A little dish washing liquid in water ,clean the bead and a little bead sealer always worked for me.But good job you replaced the tire.
Could you make a video on how to change the brake pads?
I like when the old tire gave birth to the metal inside part nice video guys
I have a question when put in those tires if that brake caliper touch the tire or scraped against the tire and what size of tires are those
This helped me a lot with changing the tire on my Sons MB80 minibike. At the same time I replaced the brake pads.
Great job guys, good video with detailed instructions and hats off to you for doing this on your own.
thanks but just a tip a crowbar works better
If you rub a little DAWN DISH SOAP on the tires the rim comes off and on so much easier...
If you take one of these small tires to a tire shop will they change it?
Lol just so ya know your tire was not heated the whole way on the one side bud, and when you use the tire bars to pry up the tire to get it off just hold the bar down with your foot and use a hammer to tap the tire bar around the wheel, same as when you go to put the tire on.. I used to work over the road for a trucking company and believe it or not that's how we changed semi tires and trailer tire along the side of the road. Also if you would have like wd40 that helps instead of using oil, oil might make a mess on your nice rims... Cool vid though keep it up!!
Yeah it's a little different than a car or truck tire, and yeah we've got WD-40 but we find that oil works a little better.
Dude!! I was listening to that same song while changing my tire and everything it was on the radio. Love me harder by Ariana grande. Listen it's playing in this video at 9:00.
Thank you young fellas, this vid really helped! I'm just some old mini bike guy.
1:14 hopefully after 8 years, you now know that's actually a nut? LMAO
Great vid lil buddy👌🏾
this video helped kid thanks for making it
I put the tire and everything on the bike but the top on the brake clamp rubs on the tire how do I fix this?
your tire is too wide, buy a new tire.

How long you gonna wait?
Yeah how long
Still waiting?
U still waiting?
Hey are you still waiting?

Lmao im dead i did it by myself kid no help and i used coco butta to Juice up the tire lol ahhhhh fresh sent of coco
Nice video, thanks for your time.
What size was the tires?
This way better than my video. I was really stupid :D
Lol. That's alright.
Damn u did that fast 💪👍 Thanks tho 👏👍
What size inter changes with 475x70x6
Nobody else noticing that they never put the chain back on and if they want to ride their mini bike the tire gotta come back off 💀😂
No they just take the master link off and put it back on
What sprocket u use
Dude, where did you get that aftermarket sprocket?
Gopowersports sells them
What brand bike is this?
Oil attacks rubber. Use soapy water. Good job though.
Where did you get your tire tools?
Nice
what type of wheel is it?
Are those the tires that are on the apple
if knew what u were doing its just like doing a car ture anf u shouldn't hold the tire like that while putting air
as long as you keep your fingers clear of the side your fine.
What size tires are these?
Where do you get all of your parts besides harbor freight?
Ombwarehouse.com is where I get my mini bike parts.
+Pacnorwest Minibikeclub do they sell the wheel
i cant get mine to " beat on " or seal .... like when he does it at 9:40 ... how do i do this ??
Well you can do it the way they did, or you can use fire lol. They squeezed the tire onto the rim, but if you want a thrill and danger. Look up "how to bead a tire with starting fluid" on UA-cam. Lol I've done it and it's pretty funny. I don't recommend the fire though, lol it's at your risk.
ok thx
rachet strap
@@fxckingjava2350 Yup! Jumped my truck in the dunes and blue the tire off the bead. Ratchet strap around the tired cranked down pushes the tire against the bead then pump air into it.
Is that type of tread any good for off road?
Was up
What size sprocket did u get
60 tooth split sprocket.
hey were did you buy the tire for the mini bike at
+Joseph Gallardo Atwoods, Tractor Supply, Sutherlands will have that tire.
+Orlando Davidson Walmart 12 dollars
You forgot the chain🤣😂
What size are they bro because I need some
16
Does anyone know a website where I can buy minibike street tires?
omb warehouse
gokartsusa.com/
walmart has those tires that he used for 15 dollars
eBay has them if you haven't found a good option yet
You can go on amazon and buy any ATV tire at the best prices. I just got to rear tires for my minibike for the price of one and because amazon screwed up with my reward point they issued me a 20 dollar credit. So that was two rear tires 19x7-8 for $39.88.
when did u put innertube
there is none
It’s a tubeless tire
Its...lubed!!!
A lot of wrestling 🥵
Good job.
He too lazy to take a wrench to it man
are those street tires
Turf tires.
Peter's Mini Bike Club you can get street tires here www.shop.hotrodminibike.com/Street-Tire-13-x-65-6-ST1356.htm
Next time you do this leave the tire outside for 1 hour then when you go to put it on use baby powder
