I once was like, "Hey these ARR relics don't seem that bad! This sounds like a lot but it's doable!" Then realized i was only finishing the first step. That stuffs a lot.
A friend of mine did the first step and then didn't even realize there *were* other steps for two years. Because the second step has no quest or in-game indication at all, you just have to know to buy a specific item with poetics and click on the furnace. And you can't see the later steps without completing this second step.

Wow, seriously, can we just drop the Athena voice acting for once? XD Also, last night I managed to get the achievements for clearing the three Coils of Bahamut - I data traveled to Dynamis and found a PF running all 13 instances of the Coils for sprouts, so I hopped in. Everyone but the tanks and rLevel 80 red mage wiped to Nael. XD
I got my burger king crown on 11/11/21, right before EW dropped. I thought to myself "I really wanna get the 2k mentor roulette achievement, I like helping people! I should have this in a year or so". Fast forward to today and I'm just now approaching the halfway mark of 1k mentor roulettes complete. In the time since I naively thought I would have it done quickly I have had and quit jobs, completed a quarter at a very big university, and moved back to the states from Japan...just to be about to move back there for 3+ years next month. I'll get it done eventually, and it is a ton of fun to track each attempt in terms of what kind of instance it is, if we succeed, etc. Just today I "lucked" into Ramuh EX with 6 sprouts and managed to lead them to a kill on the last possible pull (due to timer). Clutch wins like that feel so good and I think that's what the mentor roulette is about. They were fresh as heck sprouts, but they listened well and tried, and by Rhalgr we got the kill.
Very relatable! I did like 60 mentor roulettes my first two days working towards it. I thought I'd be done in a month or two. Now (weeks later), I'm just at 82. :p
Yeah, I didn't think it'd be as bad at first. And in general, it really isn't. I just bad-lucked into 3 separate Thordan EXs 3 days in a row with completely different sprouts and had to stop for my mental health. Not all sprouts were listening to instructions and it was just pain.
I got my mount 1 or 2 months ago. It really took some dedication but I'm happy for the experience. Just never stop loving your sprouts, take breaks if you feel drained, switch classes for diversity and one day you will get there. And yeah those EX clears can be so satisfying, especially if you have a lot of sprouts.
I've found doing the roulette at "non-peak" times gives you a better oppertunity to get easier content. Usually I'll get some guildheists, some dungeons and some 8 man raids. I like getting the rare Rathalos EX in the roulette cause that fight's fun.
if you use teamcraft, you can actually check off on there what nodes you've completed and then use their timer and route calculator which will give you the shortest route between nodes as well as allow you to set alerts and such to avoid missing nodes. it's super useful and as someone who crafts often and gathers their own mats in addition to working on the gathering log achievements, it's super helpful. good luck on the future fishing hell tho lmao
The only reason i continued as gatherer and crafter was team craft. The game is not good at all in helping you organise and give you certain information.
@@Manslayer-eo1nhthey have gotten a bit better at it but yeah it's really not optimized well in game so outside sources are much better. teamcraft is the best one i've found, as it consolidates not only gathering and crafting, but a lot of other stuff as well like maps, various timers and other stuff
I started my HW Sch relic 6 years ago, I just completed it last month. It was the grind to get all the required items, dungeon runs. I just gave up and turned off the quest from my quest log on the screen. I recently just completed it after watching you get your other relics done.
An achievement I thought would be easier than it actually was is getting the “of Dragons Deep” title. AS A FREE TRIAL SPROUT! I never want to fish at urths gift for the rest of my life after that
I did that at 90 and it's still a rough one. Well done getting it as a trial sprout! The final step on the boat took me 3 trips out there to finally catch it. It's the title I'm most proud of to date
Wait until you try to do the actually hard fish in the game. Nami isn't even bad because both fish are straight catches and the only real thing you can do to improve it is surface slap / chum. Compare that to the endgame current whale where I have multiple times spent 9 hours of my life in a day attempting to prep it to even get a shot at it and still failed, and after nearly 2 months and 15+ windows (with typically 4-8 hours prep per window) still never gotten so much as a bite. Also Egg in ShB took me over 5 months of hitting every window, yes even the ones at 3 AM.
If this is what's considered miserable and testing your patience, I can't imagine what it's going to be like when it's time for the Big Fishing or Ocean Fishing Achievements...
I really thought you'd turn the Gathering episode into like a QnA or something. Genuinely impressed you found enough to talk about and make it entertaining lol. I like gathering... but only with something fun on the 2nd monitor Side note, if you're ever farming a single resource from the same 3 nodes over and over, you can use Waypoints to demarcate where they are so you don't have to use the Find ability or look at your minimap. Small tip that someone told me a while ago and I try to pay forward
I'm like 50/50 for now. My gatherers/crafters have out leveled arr so it's going to be more buying pretty soon. Edit: send me the stuff you're throwing away!
I finished ARR Relic as Free Trial player. I thought "eh it's the first relic, surely it won't be as hard as the latest-enwalker relic grind right? How hard can it be". Turns out I have to level all crafter because I can't access market board lol. And being the masochist I am, after I finished bard ARR relic, I made Dragoon ARR relic... I also finished BA as FT - same question "how hard can it be" lol I never learn
Thank you for showing that there are also books for gathering. I had no idea and I've been playing for near 4 years. Welp, now I know what to spend my scrips on instead of just gripgel for cash.
Ooh, I was waiting for the Gathering Episode! I recently got the ARR Botany Achievement for Gathering roughly 22.000 Items yesterday, and I'm on a good run for mining as well! Still, I severly underestimated those two - they take forever x.x Also - thanks to your video I checked my Gathering Log and realised I only missed like 10 items for BOTH mining and Gathering! So I quickly did them and now I have two titles I wanted to have for so long! Thank you for igniting that fire in me haha Also - good luck with fishing!! Catching 1.460 unique fish is taxing! I'm only 25 fish away, but all of them are part of Big Fish or the Diadem (IF the Diadem really counts toward that number! It could also be Ocean Fishing.) Good luck on your achievement hunts, and thank you for your weekly videos!!! 🎉
I think the reason why the every hour timed nodes feels worse than the big 18 hour time gates is BECAUSE it's only like an hour. With the 18 hour ones it's like "Whelp, that's it for today, I'll try again tomorrow" and just kind of forget about it for the rest of the day, but the every hour ones it sticks in your head for the whole time wile you're actively waiting for it to pop again.
7:54 hey just for other people who might want to do this too, Hidden items can be forcibly uncovered instead once you're at least level 55, you get Luck of the Mountaineer/Pioneer which for 200 GP lets you force them to pop if there is one that Could have spawned, including Maps
One of the benefits of gathering everything is that you can send your retainers out to gather them, which will come in handy when you need to craft everything.
Gotta hand it to Cider, between seeing him crafting magitek repair kits for 41-50 recipe achievements in his crafting video and here gathering mythrite sand, he’s not only finishing these achievements, but also amassing the real money making mats-things used A TON with submersibles.
I think it was the 180 normal raids section of the Resistanve weapon grind that got me - I completed a whole ass Gatherer's relic while queueing for those.
I remember going for the Shadowbringers achievement pick and hatchet, really love that glow effect. Might go for the fishing rod if I ever run out of stuff to do.
This is going to sound weird, but the thing I did that was harder than expected was getting an ARR Zeta relic on the free trial. I knew it was going to be hard, I knew the free trial restrictions would make it worse, but I underestimated just how bad it would be. Materia was the biggest blocker - you can't buy it off the market so it all has to be yours. I knew the big materia dump step was coming so I saved literally every piece I got for a couple of months while getting to that step... and then it STILL took another SIX MONTHS to get the rest of the materia I needed. I tried farming for it specifically, but if you've never tried grinding spiritbond at level 60 you don't realize how slow and painful it is. I just settled for continuing to save everything I got naturally. Anyway, after that I thought I was in the clear. But no one told me about the quests that make you craft a bunch of specific items using extremely rare materials. Each one requires a material that you can only get randomly by desynthing specific vendor items that cost like 10k a piece (reminder that you can only hold 300k gil at once on trial), and then a few of them call for materials that can only be found in certain treasure map chests. That step alone took another few months. My achievements for the week: - 100 unique Blacksmith leves and 200 total Tradecraft - FATE rank 3 in Kholusia - 50 Bozja skirmishes, 50 CEs, 500 fragments appraised, and first completion of Delubrum - A handful of the initial Bozja relics since you need to have one at each stage to keep getting all the materials you need
Here's the hidden tech *they* don't want you to know: You can farm combat materia relatively quickly by wearing combat accessories while gathering. Source: I finished a Zodiac weapon during the Cloud DC beta test. Worst thing I've ever tried to do in my life, would not recommend.
Second this, I have a couple of low level accessories on gatherer and crafter and esp when crafting higher lvl stuff the spirit binding goes rather quickly. You don't really have a lot of control over what you'll get though.
I took a 2 week break from the game only to JUST get back to trying to finish my mining log the day you upload this. I'm less than 10 items away from getting everything on miner. EDIT: Just got another item. 7 more things to gather, wish me luck.
@@RyuSaarva A lot of them are RNG based. Cider Spider hadn't even reached the items that require 4k perception stat as well as some of these last few items having a low chance of even getting every hour or so.
I'm having the exact same problem. I have 6 things left for Miner VIII and I swear I have absolutely everything that isn't 4000 perception or a collectable. I'm honestly a little puzzled. Is it the gathering relic pickups I'm missing?
@@EternaltheGrey All custom deliveries unlocked (no idea if the items appear on the log without unlocking them)? Or you have not bought some regional folklore book.
Because it's spring break, and I've got a cold, I decided it's the PERFECT time to attempt to get the Necromancer title! I have not managed to get to floor 50 solo at all in a week.
2:03 Ooh those alarms are really handy. You can make them based on Eorzea time, local time, and server time, the first of which is incredibly useful if you're gathering lots of a specific timed node material. I've used them a ton. You can find it in your abilities menu under extras, along with gpose. 12:54 My such goal is crafting all ARR decorations for my crafting log completion. I didn't expect there to be hundreds, but I'm sticking through with it. I gather everything myself too, so when I sell these decorations, it's pure profit. I'm at 306/550, and to accomplish my goal of being done with it by Dawntrail, I'm making at least 2-3 per day. 26:00 Funnily enough, I got disconnected too when I got to this point in the video 34:34 Congrats, you've surpassed me in achievement points. I'm at 16 090 though, so I might catch up again :D
i saw on your mini stream that you were worried about this video being boring, so I wanted to let you know I loved this one! I think part of the fun is seeing you work on things that I know/do in game. So Bozja, which legally may be more exciting, is something I haven't done in game so I can't relate to your grinding pain. But gathering, which I spend much time doing and were my first jobs to 90, I relate to your gathering pain so it's fun! :)
A goal I found way harder than I initially thought? Blue Mage. Between grinding out skills and the Carnivale, it's a commitment that has cost me tens of hours already... So have fun getting those achievements, Cider!
The Carnivale isn't too bad, the issue with the Blue Mage achievements is getting people to play with for some of the achievments, because most people have either already done them by this point, aren't good enough to do them, or don't care enough.
My most recent achievement that was rather painful was completing the Sightseeing Log. I started FFXIV in Shadowbringers and thought, "Oh, you just look for orbs - easy enough." Meanwhile, ARR and other previous Sightseeing spots were maniacally laughing at my ignorance. Timed spots, no orbs, AND weird climbs/jumping off ledges/etc. All for sepia filtered paintings. . . edit: And that's not even mentioning Kugane Tower.
There was an ARR spot that had to be moved since they changed something making the jump impossible. I wonder why they stop adding a second set since ShB.
FYI, for a lot of those achievement items like pickaxes etc. you don't need to throw them in the trash - you can just put them in your armoire in an inn room/squadron barracks for free storage, and don't need to pay the salvager to get them back for glams later ⛏
Coincidently, this week I also decided to work on my gathering logs. Now I really dig gathering. I dig it so much that I actually had most of the items in the logs and got both "I Found That: Miner VIII" and "I Found That: Botanist VIII". It got annoying at the end because a few collectibles are sublime, which you can only get by finding specific timed nodes, getting a specific collectable to 1000 collectability, and then you MIGHT get a special version of it based on your stats. All in all, it was a very productive week. I got my last Resplendent tool as well as a couple of relic weapons, but the high point for me was finally getting "You're Tearing Me Apart II", obtained from desynthesizing 10000 items. An entire tab complete. See you all next week!
Getting the achievement "A Card in the Hand" took quite a bit longer than i anticipated. Although you only have to collect the first 312 Triple Triad cards, quite a few of them are absolutely painful to get. A few cards costing me hours of upwards of 100s of matches to win from the NPC. Still, got a cool title and a pretty red card mount from it, so would totally do it again :)
Thought every expansion after that will have some plat trophy type achivement and sucks there isn't anymore, Right now only behind by 2(one trial and the stupid EO one)
Since I've started this game, I've been completing all the content as I've unlocked it. With some exceptions. That being deep dungeons. Probably spent a good few hundred hours thinking it wouldn't be that hard. Ended up getting to floor 194 and calling it quits. I will definitely get back to it. I just want to actually play the game. Almost to Shadowbringers now, and I'm grinding out the Eureka content. Your series here has inspired me to keep up the grind and to continue to enjoy every part of this game.
For the White/Purple Gatherer Scrips every week there's always one of them that gives you more scrips, which it will say "BONUS" for the item that they are asking.
Can't wait for you to do the sight seeing log achievements. The ARR one is the only one that would take time since some of those can take a few days if you miss the spawn window.
Imagine actually needing for these nodes on content. To make a full set of high level crafting and gathering tools at endgame often involves doing both the mining and botany cycles dozens of times to get the materials off those nodes. AND you also need mats using the lesser tomestone to actually make them into useful materials. Like I am good at this part and sometimes the actual process makes me want to stop. The x.3 nodes in particular require and excessive amount of stuff from only 2 of the nodes, and often conflicts with another material you also need on the same node.
Hey! I lreally love your videos, its joy to listen to you and wathcing your progress on stuff :) btw i you gather and find Treasure maps, i recommend to use them instead of selling, u can solo them up to the 80s and when there spawns a Portal just go in even if ur solo and will die, because there are also achievements for opening AND just entering those Portals :) Keep rockin'
Doing the gathering achievements through to the end of stromblood gives you a major boost in how fast your GP recovers, that wont really help with this style of gathering waiting to tap a node once for one drop, but it does help for a lot of things, so unless ignoring the quests is a bit, I definitely suggest doing them I couldn;t imagine gathering with the base 5gp per tick regen.
theres something specatularly poetic about the same guy that breezed through bozja and zadnor and relic items just whining about gathering achievements. keep it up cider i love seeing these vids every week
You said at one point that you could max your crafters in like a week so a couple weeks ago I decided "fuck it" and got into Crafting from scratch. I now have 70 Crafters and 75 in the Gatherers and I'm officially taking a break from it because it has consumed my every waking moment playing 14 since I started the grind.
The grind is so worth it though. Even if you never craft anything again, it's still just so liberating to be able to repair your own gear and meld your own materia whenever and wherever the hell you want.
Sometimes when gathering, you can force a hidden item to appear by proc-ing "Luck of the Mountaineer" for miner or the equivalent for botanist. It's how I always get an Ophiotauroskin map on the first node! If there are multiple hidden items tho, sometimes the wrong one appears than the one you're looking for. Also doesn't work if your percept is below the breakpoint. Also seeing you throw away that Rhodanite and Titanium made me cri :C Crafting modified sub parts rn and they're greedy for Rhodanite and Titanium
The achievement I thought would be easy cus it's 'just a bit of gathering and crafting, I got 15 years of WoW grinding Experience, it'll be fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine' is the Diadem mount grind. I WAS NOT PREPAIRED! NO-ONE IS PREPAIRED!
Since last week's video, I have crafted for the 1000th time between levels 81 and 90 as GSM (10 points), finished the final step of the Endwalker relic weapon for MCH (10 points), reached level 80 on GNB (5 points), earned my 10,000,000th MGP in Gold Saucer activities (10 points) and obtained four achievements in which I advanced my ongoing Shadowbringers relic weapons (10 points each for a total of 40). In the course of the last week, I have obtained 75 points and I now stand at 20,185 points (ingame) or 19,090 points (Lalachievements scoring system). I'm now ranked #52 on Adamantoise, up one rank since last week. Grind on, achievement hunters! Okay, now I watch the video.
I feel ya. I've maxed out all my crafting/gathering jobs since forever, but only decided to get these achievements now. The ARR "gather N-thousand times" are PAIN
New fan of yours here. I gotta say seeing all of your appreciation for Femroes has really encouraged me to put some more hours on my fem roe and fem elezen alt characters lately and its been fun. Thanks.
You can tell he barely gathered things for his own crafting because there's some materials you need lots of that he had never gathered. Titanium Ore :O
14:30 to be fair, when I was playing endwalker on launch week, there was a sprout in Ultima Thule. maybe the sprout I saw was a story skipper?? Idk but yeah I lost my sprout at the start of shadowbringers too.
Something I thought would be easy, but turned out much more difficult -- making the Martial Artist's Sleeveless Vest. I would have said the PLD ARR relic I worked on, but it was not difficult -- just tedious for me in retrospect. I only dabble in the gathering/crafting classes so no Splendorous Tools, not an omnicrafter, just mainly got some I wanted to Lv. 90; Figured it would be easy as I just got the toughest material out of doing the Treasure Dungeon for fun as well as another material required having Shared FATE Rank 3 in Ultima Thule (which I did all the EW areas for fun a few random days). Was not ready for some gathering spots requiring high enough perception. No Splendorous Tools, but with just the Lv. 90 Purple gear, you can BARELY make it with affixing your materia very carefully. I had to scramble for those materia as I was broke and scramble I did, painfully. (I only managed to find that I had enough blue cowries from continuing to mess with my Island Sanctuary well past unlocking everything) I was humbled AGAIN when some spots also required that I had the Folklore Books, so had to say goodbye to my white scraps. Max cap is not enough so had to ALSO go out and gather more... twice via collectibles (My Custom Deliveries was used up trying to level a new crafting class). Did not have enough Craftsmanship for Crafting some of the materials either so had to scramble for materia YET again. I realized that I literally ONLY had enough Craftsmanship solely because even with affixing the materia JUST right -- just ONLY made it because the Soul of the Crafter gave me just enough (+20 to Craftsmanship) to make it. I was juggling my web browser with tab groups to make sure I got everything, some stuff I caved in and bought directly from the MB. All in all, what I expected an "In-and-out 30 min adventure" turned into an entire day and a half endeavor. I only learned later that specific glam ( or rather its set) is very recent (like Patch 6.5 recent, not Patch 6.05 or Patch 6.3) hence the difficulty. Yeahhhh not something I wanna "dabble" again without having more... prep. I had to discover a whole new side to this game just to get that vest. I thought about the rest of the glam set, but NOT being an omnicrafter has certainly turned me away from the idea for now. Will say that I did start leveling said classes now as a result of this... mess.
Heavensward zones look great, but many are poorly designed in terms of traversal. It was the first expansion to have flying so they went “lets make the distance you have to travel for some things egregiously far” Just a note about self repairs: the great thing about self repairs is you only have to be ten levels below cap to repair max level gear. EX: you only need to be level 80 on one crafter to repair lvl 90 gear. So that means if you capped a crafter in Endwalker you’ll already be able to repair max level gear in Dawntrail.
The reason why Talan sells soo many pies is because it was a consistent way to get Fieldcraft Demimateria III back in ARR. You'd just have to buy a ton and desynth. There was no crafting or gathering scrips to buy demimateria with, so it was a rough RNG struggle to get any.
One thing I did that was harder than I was expecting was catching that god forsaken Durdina fish. Showed up to it's fishing spot along with dozens of other big fishers, full of enthusiasm and ready to catch it. 39 windows later I was the only one left. 9 failed bites before I successfully hooked it on bite 10. It wasn't even one of the final 6 Endwalker fish...
I set a goal to become a psychologist one day. Despite being only 15 when I set this goal, I understood the requirements like the amount of time, the amount of money, the amount of patience, the amount of discipline, and the amount of mental fortitude I'd need perfectly well. So what was the hard part? The freaking corruption. I got extremely disillusioned when I found out how rampant it was in the field of pschology. It sometimes seems to be just a tool for political agendas. Now, I'm not saying that the field is worthless or that there are no good therapists. I'm saying that teenager version of me had no idea the amount of dirt and scum he'd have to deal with if he wanted to become a proper, licensed, psychologist. Dealing with it was a new layer of challenge that I wasn't ready to handle.
That is every job I hate to say. That is what being in an adult means. Working through corruption. Even when people themselves say they are working to get rid of corruption, they are also corrupt.
I'm currently on Umbrella Quest. I have every umbrella and parasol in-game except my white whale: the one that requires me to win 150 open triple triad tournament matches... It's surprisingly a hell of a mission I've given myself, but honestly, it's been really fun!
Once again just want to point out that there's an achievement for opening 10,000 hidden chests in deep dungeons. It's going to be hell if you save it for later.
Others in the comments mentioned it, but Teamcraft is a huuuuge help for the timed node stuff. I've actually got most of the mining achievements done because of that even though I'm pretty far behind in combat achievements in comparison.

What sucks is I actually caught like 2 Nepto Dragons and I haven't even finished the quest....
Just got that title also took me a week wasn’t that bad
If this is what's considered miserable and testing your patience, I can't imagine what it's going to be like when it's time for the Big Fishing or Ocean Fishing Achievements...
Fishing is supposed to be relaxing...
NOT!
I'm personally waiting for the mahjong grind.
cant wait for the video about diadem for the mount
Lol yeah Diadem is gonna be fun to see :P
I really thought you'd turn the Gathering episode into like a QnA or something. Genuinely impressed you found enough to talk about and make it entertaining lol. I like gathering... but only with something fun on the 2nd monitor
Side note, if you're ever farming a single resource from the same 3 nodes over and over, you can use Waypoints to demarcate where they are so you don't have to use the Find ability or look at your minimap. Small tip that someone told me a while ago and I try to pay forward
You definitely gather your own materials and don't just buy them off the market board, right?
yeah sure i gather.... from the market board
Yeah FSH quest giver, I definitely fished these myself.
Surely.
I'm like 50/50 for now. My gatherers/crafters have out leveled arr so it's going to be more buying pretty soon.
Edit: send me the stuff you're throwing away!
I have over 130m Gil, so nope, very rarely do I gather lol
Been on free trial for months and months and have to do it all myself 💪 my friends who have marketboard access will never know the same pain
Everytime Athena says tremble, the Floortank pulls.
6:33 man i'm glad i'm not the only person that still has that old hillshire farms commercial stuck in my head
Still, I severly underestimated those two - they take forever x.x
Also - thanks to your video I checked my Gathering Log and realised I only missed like 10 items for BOTH mining and Gathering! So I quickly did them and now I have two titles I wanted to have for so long! Thank you for igniting that fire in me haha
Also - good luck with fishing!! Catching 1.460 unique fish is taxing! I'm only 25 fish away, but all of them are part of Big Fish or the Diadem (IF the Diadem really counts toward that number! It could also be Ocean Fishing.)
Good luck on your achievement hunts, and thank you for your weekly videos!!!
Been loving these vids!
Small (and angry) side note: the tools you get from the "I found that" series all glow, but some only while gathering.
The one I recently did and kinda underestimated, was the mount-meta one in the Firmament. You're gonna love it. 🤣👍
I lost it at the frontlines music when gathering at Onsal 😂
My achievements for the week:
- 100 unique Blacksmith leves and 200 total Tradecraft
- FATE rank 3 in Kholusia
- 50 Bozja skirmishes, 50 CEs, 500 fragments appraised, and first completion of Delubrum
- A handful of the initial Bozja relics since you need to have one at each stage to keep getting all the materials you need
Here's the hidden tech *they* don't want you to know:
You can farm combat materia relatively quickly by wearing combat accessories while gathering.
Why do you need luck?
Just open your gathering log and go get the items you need.
I'm doing the same achievement right now, stay strong ⛏️
Grinding gathering chievos, enjoying beverages, watching the new Cider vid, flourishing. It's a good weekend.
Don't worry cider everything is definitely okay as an gathering you definitely won't feel like it's taking forever
Diadem: "You could not live with your incomplete achievements. Where did that bring you? Back to me..."
That Wario voice was the highlight of my day!
26:00 Funnily enough, I got disconnected too when I got to this point in the video
34:34 Congrats, you've surpassed me in achievement points. I'm at 16 090 though, so I might catch up again :D
The Onsal Hakkar ost playing when you went into the Azim Steppe is a great detail
i saw on your mini stream that you were worried about this video being boring, so I wanted to let you know I loved this one! :)
Btw, there are a bunch of treasure map related achievements (like: finish x amount of Gazelleskin maps)
also, in terms of white gathering scrips:
best ive found has been to fish for Fleeting Brands on the moon, they're fairly common and trade for a lot
A goal I found way harder than I initially thought?
Blue Mage.
Between grinding out skills and the Carnivale, it's a commitment that has cost me tens of hours already... So have fun getting those achievements, Cider!
"GET STUNG, IDIOT!"
The Carnivale isn't too bad, the issue with the Blue Mage achievements is getting people to play with for some of the achievments, because most people have either already done them by this point, aren't good enough to do them, or don't care enough.
@@Infindox Yeah doubt I will get the mount.
Patiently waiting for Blue Mage content.
Goal I set: treasure maps…
How’s it going you ask? -cries in the hidden canals praying for the end room-
My most recent achievement that was rather painful was completing the Sightseeing Log.
If only I can do this to the pvp series gear.
That Oschon Opo Opo joke was primo. Nicely done 😂
I put 40 hours into ff14 never played again but I can’t stop watching these
Regarding that alarm, you're going to be very glad of it when you have to suffer through sightseeing logs. The ARR ones are pain incarnate.
Your voice is very soothing to listen to, I really appreciate your videos.
I want to think that angry baby can't help but yelling "tremble!!!" every time an earth attak occurs.
You can set an ingame alarm o_O?! Well this clip was already worth watching ^^
Excited to see the eventual Cider Spider Fishing Content ™
The opal opal joke made me cackle out loud thank you for that belly laugh, the jokes be hitting hard this week
The psychic damage I took when the gameplay started and it was immediately mythrite sand gathering
Wait what?
theres something specatularly poetic about the same guy that breezed through bozja and zadnor and relic items just whining about gathering achievements. keep it up cider i love seeing these vids every week
I LIKE gathering :') it's also the best way to make money on patch day whenever new legendary nodes come out. I can't wait to see you try fishing!
A rock solid episode....Diadem is waiting to say hi!
Garlond tools and especially Garlond Bell is a godsend for timed nodes
MAD because gather
I need to lather

Youngin is running around oblivious to the sundered past of diadem and matrons favors. There's a titanic sawfish out there calling your name.
Enjoyed this while gathering the special materials for the relic Lodestar Pickaxe. :P
I only dabble in the gathering/crafting classes so no Splendorous Tools, not an omnicrafter, just mainly got some I wanted to Lv. 90;
Figured it would be easy as I just got the toughest material out of doing the Treasure Dungeon for fun as well as another material required having Shared FATE Rank 3 in Ultima Thule (which I did all the EW areas for fun a few random days).
Was not ready for some gathering spots requiring high enough perception. No Splendorous Tools, but with just the Lv. 90 Purple gear, you can BARELY make it with affixing your materia very carefully.
I had to scramble for those materia as I was broke and scramble I did, painfully. (I only managed to find that I had enough blue cowries from continuing to mess with my Island Sanctuary well past unlocking everything)
I was humbled AGAIN when some spots also required that I had the Folklore Books, so had to say goodbye to my white scraps.
Will say that I did start leveling said classes now as a result of this... mess.
These voiceline edits never fail to crack me up. 😂
29:50 "Why am I Pokéballing?" I'm using that lol
Gooooooooooood luck with the Diadem biz. That is what I thought would be easier but was so so so not easy. But the Pterodon mount is so cool!
Heavensward zones look great, but many are poorly designed in terms of traversal. It was the first expansion to have flying so they went “lets make the distance you have to travel for some things egregiously far”
Just a note about self repairs: the great thing about self repairs is you only have to be ten levels below cap to repair max level gear. EX: you only need to be level 80 on one crafter to repair lvl 90 gear. So that means if you capped a crafter in Endwalker you’ll already be able to repair max level gear in Dawntrail.
Gathering is fun. Good video
The reason why Talan sells soo many pies is because it was a consistent way to get Fieldcraft Demimateria III back in ARR. You'd just have to buy a ton and desynth. There was no crafting or gathering scrips to buy demimateria with, so it was a rough RNG struggle to get any.
*Sits here waiting for Cider's brain to turn to cider having to do Diadem gathering*
Early gang
Anyways these gathering achivements make me want to eat legit rocks because it feels easier than mining rocks
Worth watching for the mining puns at the end!
I am CRIMINALLY exctied for the fishing episode. It's gonna be so good watching Angry Angler.
10:41 - Oh cool, Cider can get TWO new items here!
Cider: *abandons the node after only one item*
Me: ... is this another Dragoon joke.
Man, I've been using garland db for my node timers all these years.
@@iceman3317 Sad, but more than likely, true.
I'm currently on Umbrella Quest. I have every umbrella and parasol in-game except my white whale: the one that requires me to win 150 open triple triad tournament matches... It's surprisingly a hell of a mission I've given myself, but honestly, it's been really fun!
That astral stone can be turned into a minion.
