The higher the ilvl for gathering the faster you gain spiritbond. Many of us use spiritbonding to get mass quantities of lvl 9 and 10 materia, by gathering the legendary folklore nodes with fully melded gathering gear. You just manage to get enough stats to the breakpoints and then just get to 900 GP. And you just swing at all the timed nodes. And use your 900Gl GP to get 3 uses of wise to the world to get another hit on the node. And I'd you're lucky you'll get the bonus proc. But on average. With fully melded gear, (once you get the breakpoints amd 900 GP, you can meld junk gear like he did in the video) you'll get gathering materia roughly every other node. And the bonus is that since you're doing EW nodes. And wearing EW gear. You'll get very valuable level 9 and 10 materia. It's a good passive income maker! And if any of you are omnicrafters. It's also good for pentamelding this new upcoming expansions new crafting gear
Fair warning though. I remember reading somewhere on the forums years ago, that the Food/FC/Manuals buffs for spiritbonding have a cap. So don't stack the potion with spiritbonding food! But this was also many years ago. So I don't know if it's actually true. So take it with a grain of salt
For fast synth crafting I recommend lv ~21 stuff in hq. With lv 90 tools you still hit the stats for fast synth Shadowbringer stuff(and with a level 90 chest Endwalker stats) and every like ~60 crafts you can extract 9/10 Materia I and II. On my server there a still a lot of people who are doing arr relics and Materia I go around 5-10k a piece. Thats like half the crafts you need to do for the basic lv90 set spiritbonding with endwalker crafts and, at least on my server, most crafting Materia IX and X are under 5k a piece.
I use the 90 crafted gear Oriphos and I barely make the 900gp/ 3850 perception on a good hit all wise procs I gain 60%+, I also try to double node as I hit tier 3 node (softsilver, ect) burn my GP and dash to the tier 2 (Illumite, ect) it burns Hi cordiles but I make 500+ materias in the 3 hours a super sprit pot lasts
@@tetsuotakahashithe5thpilla708 That's false! there are just breakpoints. If you just stack potions with food you land at (using the calculations from the video) 8.5 crafts per extract compared to 9 with either of those, which both works out to 9 But if you throw the company or squadron buff on top you can get down to 7.5 = 8 crafts per item Also don't farm level 10 materia, it's going to be worthless the second dawntrail comes out. Only materia staying relevant for early pentas is level 9

I had to learn a lot about spiritbond when i was working on arr relics on free trial...ended up doing the same loop in east shroud hitting trees. I would get 10 materia every 30 minutes. Thats with HQ gear and 2 materia per item. I eventually just went and did ixali quests daily, got crafter/gatherer materia from them and then transmuted those materia into battle ones
Currently doing that exact grind on free trial. Can get 8 materia every minute or two with optimal setup. The trick is to use the Diadem. Those nodes give you the optimal spiritbond amount for your level every time, and you get 5 gathers per node instead of 4. Combine that with the spiritbond rings and the GC items (potion bought with seals and certificate from priority missions) and you get 5-10% spiritbond from every node.
Another week has passed, and you're now 260 lalachievement score ahead of me. My free time has been cut down a little because the summer semester at my university started. Still, I made huge progress toward my crafting project for HW blacksmith leves. I also got my 500th chocobo racing win, which is a relatively rare and grindy achievement. Since there was a lot about spiritbonding, melding, and materia this episode, I'd figure I'd mention that I have been extracting materia since I unlocked materia extraction nearly 3 years ago. I have affixed 1895 materia and extracted 3752 materia. Glad to see it payed off for my achievement hunting :D
For all the problems it causes, I honestly really appreciate the non-instanced housing in this game. It would be a lot harder to wander around and break into random people's houses if they were each in their own little pocket dimension. It's something you don't really get from most other MMOs. My achievements this week: - Level 90 Gunbreaker, Culinarian, and the omni-90 achievement for crafters - 500 high-quality crafts as Weaver - Every single Skysung crafter tool (8 achievements) - Every single Skybuilders' crafter tool (8 more achievements)
i was wondering what that glam of yours was for when you were doing s ranks yesterday........... what a funny surprise lmao very informative. i was under the impression you always had to be wearing gear proportionate to current level doing content at current level to spiritbond. nice to learn that there's more ways to get it
For +spiritbond gear there's also the Meteor Survivor Ring from a quest in La Noscea that gives you +3 spiritbond gain instead of +1. It's also not unique for some reason, so after doing the quest you can pick up a second one from the calamity salvager
Congrats on your carpenter achievement!! I feel your pain, I finished all ARR crafting achievements in roughly 6 weeks, alongside with Miner and Botanist. I'm currently chipping on the fishing one and I'm like 500 hooks away getting that as well. Funnily enough while doing fishing I finished the HW gathering and crafting ones, so I could hopefully start Stormblood soon. I wish you godspeed on your journey through those crafting ones!
I’m happy to inform that after you started tackling hunt achievements back then I followed your footsteps and this week I finally got my tiger mount achievement! Also agree this week dc’s were rough! Imagine mass dc during Ker pull on Light dc on the hunting Thursday xD
Cider crafting in bathtub reminded me of me being in our FC house bush, boiling 999 eggs. I still dont know why I did such thing, but I like boiled eggs
Nothing makes me sadder then going into a larger house... And seeing nothing. People want housing to do some really creative stuff, and to see them wasted is terrible.
When I got a house (small) it took me a while (about a month) to figure out what kind of theme I wanted and the I ended up spending far more decorating said house than I did buying it to begin with. Now scale that up to a larger house with more ground to cover and more decorations to buy.
@@Calvados656 there are places that sit for months or years with nothing in them. My guess is there accounts people want to sell at some point. You can get almost 1000$ for an account with a large plot. Would be insane to do it, but that's what google brings up
So the most gil-efficient solution I found for the spiritbond achievements is the following setup: Gear: Culinarian Tool (offhand optional), full Emperor's New set. (I glammed over it so I wasn't naked.) Craft: Table Salt x a ton. (Auto-crafting works fine for this.) Food/Drink: Better Crowned Pie HQ (gain +2) and Superior Spiritbond Potion HQ (gain +6); these stack Other Buffs: FC Action That Which Binds Us II (unspecified gain), Proper Care II (reduces gear wear, so fewer pauses to repair) Cost benefit analysis (ignoring Fire Shard costs): Material Used: Rock Salt x1, costs 3g. Item Crafted: Table Salt x6, sells for 6g. (Net gain of 3g per craft, ignoring Fire Shard cost and ignoring HQ crafts) Materia Produced (per approx 120 crafts, without potions): DoW materia Grade I or II. The Grade I sells for 2k-8k depending on the kind, and the Grade II sells for 500-4k depending on the kind.
Hey Cider, just wanted to mention that there's a buff food that boosts your spirit bond gaining, the better crowned pie that boosts it by +2. There's also a potion (or medicine) that boosts it by 6 and is pretty cheap (Superior Spiritbond Potion). And last but not least, there's a reason to visit your chad adventure squadron. There's a mission that gives you an item that boosts your spirit bonding by another 3 for 2 hours. You can get 10 of those once per week. Each point in spirit bonding is worth 1 materia (or 20%).
I recently did all the ARR relics and decided to spiritbond all the Level 1/2/3/4 materia I needed, and I found the best way to do it was to use the lowest level crafted gear I could (level 19-23, when materia slots first start appearing) and doing crafts that were level 40+. there's very little benefit for more than 20 levels above.
Ahh dang thank god I finished that 5000 sb one way back in ARR at the shroud crystal spawn where Odin first appears. Another banger of a video streamer.
the funny thing is... my house (well FC house) is themed around being a store and selling wares from crafting. Not that anyone would ever find it on the ghost town that is Maduin. XD
Maduin fn rulz stop telling others its dead. You see new xpac is around the corner do we want all of aether crystal and primal to DC travel to us and crash our server during launch? DYNAMIS OP
@@chestercarter6081 lol I know, but my housing district has been a ghost town for ages. It will get better as new players get filtered in with the promise of preferred servers and road to 90 buff for sprouts, but it's tough getting roulettes done on that DC in the time I have free so I eventually do need to DC travel. I love my little FC, even if it's only me right now as people are either taking time off or doing other stuff. I have a great spot even if it is a small.
I always make sure to wear my spiritbonding set when I craft/gather lower level stuff. Make sure to use HQ pentamelded gear below level 19/20 and you can get Materia 1s and 2s for ARR relic quests. I regularly sell mine because I get so many that I couldn't possibly use them all. It's a decent gil maker. I also make sure to use my retainers to gather as much as possible to help reduce my own gathering or marketboard dependency.
So recently discovered this channel and have been watching through the playlist of these achievement videos while grinding in Eureka. I heard Malboro and look over and see my cat girl on screen 😂😂
Just started the vid and I hope this gets relayed to you. But spiritbond potion +1 and legendary gathering nodes gets MASSIVE amounts of green materia. Level 9 and 10 currently. Then immediately sold on the marketboard for LOTS of profit. There's even YT tutorials about it from when 6.0 released.
Most people would consider my house boring but you know, crafting all the furniture for it were the best two weeks I had in this game and I love the way it turned out.
There was a brief time right after the change from destroying items to keeping items when you extract materia, when you could put on low level gear, and go kill monsters around the level of said gear (you being like 80) and you would gain spiritbond quite quickly. I could kick myself for not taking advantage of that more. So now combat based spiritbond requires You, the gear, and the monsters, to be around the same level. So you can do it in fates, but not leves, because leves don't sync.
I recommend checking the requirement of the Novus books for overlapping with the Battle Levequest achievements. There are Levequests required in those books, some of them GC related.
I don't know why visiting someone's house and doing crafting just feels so... Illegal but it isn't? I don't know how I would feel if I found someone crafting in my house.
Some of the lower level lumber can be purchased from the Ixal tribe if I remember correctly. Grade II, III, and IV materia has no value any more because FC airships can bring it back en masse..... but grade I? That is still worth its weight in gold.
I rewrote a few times and deleted it... For FATE syncing the combat Materia, don't do lv40 stuff. Get VERY low items, I mean single digit stuff, and do the same method in the starting ARR areas. I know I'd done that when farming a number of ARR relics many years ago to make the Alexandrite step cost less. You sync down for the FATE and kill anything, not just FATE mobs, on something very fast like a Bard or Machinist (or Dancer, didn't exist back in like HW). For Quantity of materia bonded, I think it is faster than anything else shown off. For AFKability, Crafting will win though.
Was just creeping up on my 10000th HQ carpenter craft when the DDOS attacks started. Finally managed to transfer to Light the next day and finish it up. That's all my Carpenter achievements (except for Ishgardian Restoration) done.. only 7 more crafting classes to go!! 😅
I dug myself out of the Tunic-shaped pit I fell into a few weeks ago, and have tentatively resumed playing FFXIV. Still, not too much to report. Lalachievements score 16,215. I picked up I Made That Alchemist VI from crafting ALC furniture, and have swapped to crafting CRP furniture to try and finish out the unique crafting achievements. Got Customer Is Always Right: Adkiragh III in the course of doing my weekly custom deliveries. But the big ones were big fishing: Go Big or Go Home VI (Sea Butterfly, Mud Golem, Ninja Betta, Bombardfish, Syldra, Frilled Shark, Jacques the Snipper, Warden of the Seven Hues, Raimdellopterus, Ignus Horn) and Go Big or Go Home VII (Blue Widow, Worm of Nym, The Gobfather, King of the Spring, Silver Sovereign, Oschon's Print). I talked with someone in the comments of a previous video about big fish, and which ones I was going for, and at that time I mentioned Warden was a fish a friend had told me was really bad. Now that I've done it, and more importantly, now that I understand how Stethacanthus works, I understand that I was confusing two different stories that I'd heard at a time when I didn't really know how big fish worked. While the friend had initially complained about Warden, it occurs to me now that complaints about being stuck in a zone, unable to leave or log out, to the point of taking time off work, and then using a collector's glove to cheese something with intuition, that was her describing Steth, not Warden. I started tracking some basic stats to reflect my efforts with big fish. Dunno if anyone else will find it interesting, but these are the stats for this batch. For clarity, a "cast" does not include mooches. Sea Butterfly: caught, 1 bite, 4 intuitions, 46 casts, 2 windows Mud Golem: caught, 1 bite, 11 casts, 1 window Ninja Betta: caught, 1 bite, 6 casts, 1 window Bombardfish: caught, 1 bite, 30 casts, 1 window Syldra: caught, 1 bite, 19 casts, 1 window Frilled Shark: caught, 1 bite, 5 mooches, 2 casts, 1 window Jacques the Snipper: caught, 1 bite, 34 casts, 1 window Warden of the Seven Hues: caught, 1 bite, 1 intuition, 20 mooches, 106 casts, 4 windows* Raimdellopterus: caught, 1 bite, 3 intuitions, 4 mooches, 35 casts, 2 windows Ignus Horn: caught, 3 bites, 120 casts, 3 windows Blue Widow: caught, 1 bite, 21 casts, 1 window Worm of Nym: caught, 1 bite, 6 casts, 1 window The Gobfather: caught, 1 bite, 7 mooches, 10 casts, 1 window King of the Spring: caught, 3 bites, 108 casts, 3 windows Silver Sovereign: caught, 1 bite, 10 casts Oschon's Print: caught, 2 bites, 131 casts *For Warden, I did two Greenfish windows, but four Violetfish/Orangefish windows, for about three hours of standing around waiting in Yanxia. It took two Greenfish windows in the first place, because I misunderstood how to reset the 50-minute fish lockout, thinking it was dropping a line in another hole when it was actually just moving over a bit, so I accidentally reset intuition progress. At this point, I'm down to 28 big fish in ARR, and then I'll be starting on HW proper. In the meantime, I have Charibenet, Bobgoblin, Ruby Dragon, Stethacanthus, Cinder Surprise, and Ealad Skaan pinned, getting an early start on them. As before, keeping 2 pinned per expac (except EW, for now; once I finish ARR I'll replace the HW pins with EW pins), based very loosely on vibes from skimming reddit threads about which fish were the meanest.
No, you shouldn't. The only reason you should shame them is if you 100% knew for a fact that their sole purpose was to form the FC to buy the plot just to sell the FC, otherwise there are multiple reasons one person might have an FC all to themselves, some reasons that are totally understandable and is SE's fault to begin with.
The solo FC isn't the bad part. Things like airships and submarines would be perfectly doable with a small, but this person is squatting on a much more scarce and valuable large.
My achievement grind has been going well. Today in fact I got my last HW relic completed. And with that I have ALL the relics completed for ARR, HW, ShB, and EW. That leaves the Eureka content from StB... I'd I've been putting that off after dropping it in mid Pagos. I went back a few times for story, but I need almost everything weapon related. That is going to be my next big project.
Ohhh I like some of those tricks for faster spiritbonding. To save money I've been trying to farm materia 1 and 2 for my ARR relics, but i should be trying harder to overlap my materia farm with other crafting/gathering achievements
"If you don't want lalas breaking into your room and getting saw dust on your bed, lock your door!" sounds like something Eorzeans tell their kids to get them to remember to lock their door.
I remember doing spirit bonding farms in ARR in Urths fount with the goal of getting grade iv determination materia (fun fact determination used to be the most powerful stat besides main stat) The grade iv det materia would sell for 500k-1mil a pop so you could make a crap tonne of gil especially when things like the Novus relic step were relevant.
Another good item you can get for spiritbonding is a ring you get from a specific yellow quest chain in upper la noscea. It's a short quest and the ring gives +3 to spiritbonding
For the record, the combat leve gave no spirit bond because he was over leveled for it. If you are within the level range of the leve quest, it will give spirit bond.
You know, that whole DDoS thing was pretty wild. Although I managed to not get DC'd at all, after my bouts of... excessive lag... I opted to call it on my XIV journey for the day a bit earlier than I usually would. I was not interested in putting up with that nonsense. Kudos to anyone that decided to soldier through it. :)
the first time i really payed attention to spiritbond was after i'd caught up in shb and was working on Diadem with some of the end of expac scrip gear (the lvl 80 stuff). it simply /refused/ to gain spiritbond at a reasonable pace and i recall watching the % tick up infuriatingly slowly until finally giving up on actually getting much materia out of diadem activity. i think i even tried to ask in shout chat why i wasn't gaining any and shout collectively shrugged and went "wait, you're getting spiritbond??" iirc you get a decent amount while levelling but i'm certainly not taking an alt in there to test it. you'd probably get more with lower ilvl gear, even at cap, though. the punchline, though, is how i proceeded to get 2 achievements for materia in there, one for obtaining materia and one for melding materia. i was still quite new to the game at the time so they were probably the baby achievements anyway but it was really funny.
The crafting achievements and fishing achievements are the main reason I don't think I'll ever go for 100% achievements in this game and just focus on collecting stuff. Mounts, minions, Orchestrions, etc.
Spiritbond doesn't randomly go up a percent. it actually extends 2 decimal places and it is possible to see the exact number with a plugin which you obviously can't be using while streaming or making videos.
oh god spiritbond, I craft 2 ARR Relic in Free Trial, meaning the only way I can finish the material meld step without market board is by doing spiritbond farm. Never again
Also sorry for double comment, but this one goes out to commenters mainly - is there like a good Achievement Hunt Discord for XIV? I'm in several Servers for specific aspects of the game, but idk, it would be nice to team up with other Achievement Hunters so some grinds would be less draining!
as someone who used to be on goblin its called that because goblin deez nutz not looking forward to hitting this set of achievements if i ever get around to it. thank you for taking one for the team when it comes to theory crafting this stuff 😥
I recently got myself a small house after like over a month of consistent attempts. Canonically my WoL has a toddler and a newborn at this point in MSQ, so to reflect that, I made a crib by facing and overlapping a pair of armchairs and putting a mobile over it. :)
I'm not sure if I'd be scared or just laugh my butt off if I walked into my house, went down to my bathroom and found a fellow lala crafting in my bathtub.
Spiritbonding used to be a great way to make gil. I think I've had the 5,000 achievement since early HW or maybe even AAR days. Crafting and gathering was the best way to raise spiritbond too. You can also use a spiritbond potion if you want to speed things up.
Not sure if said already but there is a trick working on meld x amount times chieve. Meld your piece of gear and drop it in glam dresser and then retrieve it auto removes melds.

@@tetsuotakahashithe5thpilla708 That's false! there are just breakpoints. If you just stack potions with food you land at (using the calculations from the video) 8.5 crafts per extract compared to 9 with either of those, which both works out to 9
But if you throw the company or squadron buff on top you can get down to 7.5 = 8 crafts per item
Also don't farm level 10 materia, it's going to be worthless the second dawntrail comes out. Only materia staying relevant for early pentas is level 9
Still can't wait on the mahjong grind and I'm happy to teach ya
I've already made it to 1st Dan just by following hints, which I suspect is exactly the method Cider will use as well
Can't wait for the mahjong grind. Rank 2000 eludes me and it's brutal.
@@hoodiesticksProbably not, the hint system recommends pretty terrible moves often, so It would be pretty difficult to get to 10000 using only hints.
@@huevos6226my bf has been stuck on the rank 2000 grind for an expansion and a half. Every time he gets close, he gets on a losing streak and drops 300+ rank

"You may have been expecting a Eureka video this week..."
...I just kinda just expected Eureka videos every week at this point >.>
I do hope the irony is not lost to time that we spent the whole video crafting as a lala with the quest "Child Labor" active.
It's a good visual gag.
That quest has been up for got knows how many of his videos already :D Still funny, though, every time.
@@hoodiesticksI was doing it before going into hw, so no diadem for me
Another week has passed, and you're now 260 lalachievement score ahead of me.
It's called Goblin because of the Blue Mage spell 'Goblin Punch.'
-Yoshi-P (Probably)
FFIV had a hidden Goblin summon! It also has Cockatrice, Bomb, and Mindflayer as rare drop hidden summons, just like Goblin.
Goblinssssss.
For all the problems it causes, I honestly really appreciate the non-instanced housing in this game. It would be a lot harder to wander around and break into random people's houses if they were each in their own little pocket dimension. It's something you don't really get from most other MMOs.
My achievements this week:
- Level 90 Gunbreaker, Culinarian, and the omni-90 achievement for crafters
- 500 high-quality crafts as Weaver
- Every single Skysung crafter tool (8 achievements)
- Every single Skybuilders' crafter tool (8 more achievements)
I love randomly running into Cider doing things.
I would love to see a small intermission segment of house tours between achievements
i was wondering what that glam of yours was for when you were doing s ranks yesterday........... what a funny surprise lmao
very informative. i was under the impression you always had to be wearing gear proportionate to current level doing content at current level to spiritbond. nice to learn that there's more ways to get it
“You gotta be a tenacious crafter to succeed in life.” Wise words from a wise baby.
For +spiritbond gear there's also the Meteor Survivor Ring from a quest in La Noscea that gives you +3 spiritbond gain instead of +1. It's also not unique for some reason, so after doing the quest you can pick up a second one from the calamity salvager
"Go break into random people's houses and look around."
Spider, the last time I did that, I got arrested.
This series has been so much freaking fun
This video didn't feel like 30 min at all, which is high praise, now i can't wait for the next one haha. Thanks! :}
All jokes aside, this video is educational AF.
not me just wanting ciderspider to break into my in-game house and critic it
Cider crafting in bathtub reminded me of me being in our FC house bush, boiling 999 eggs. I still dont know why I did such thing, but I like boiled eggs
Nothing makes me sadder then going into a larger house... And seeing nothing. People want housing to do some really creative stuff, and to see them wasted is terrible.
Maybe they spent all their gil on the house they don't have enough for furniture yet 💀
Would be insane to do it, but that's what google brings up
Look forward to your uploads! this one is very nice to see the houses! sending you large lot luck
So the most gil-efficient solution I found for the spiritbond achievements is the following setup:
Gear: Culinarian Tool (offhand optional), full Emperor's New set. (I glammed over it so I wasn't naked.)
Craft: Table Salt x a ton. (Auto-crafting works fine for this.)
Food/Drink: Better Crowned Pie HQ (gain +2) and Superior Spiritbond Potion HQ (gain +6); these stack
Other Buffs: FC Action That Which Binds Us II (unspecified gain), Proper Care II (reduces gear wear, so fewer pauses to repair)
Cost benefit analysis (ignoring Fire Shard costs):
Material Used: Rock Salt x1, costs 3g.
Item Crafted: Table Salt x6, sells for 6g. (Net gain of 3g per craft, ignoring Fire Shard cost and ignoring HQ crafts)
Materia Produced (per approx 120 crafts, without potions): DoW materia Grade I or II.
"You can't stop lallafell from crafting in your bathtub." Truer words were never spoken.
Friendly reminder that he hasn't started the fishing grind 😢
So you’re saying his fishing isn’t at lvl 90
Yea gonna be a long one
Or the tank wins achievements 😅
Or the Blue Mage grind.
Yea some of these achievements require 5 years to get like wtf. That’s why I didn’t even bother.
So recently discovered this channel and have been watching through the playlist of these achievement videos while grinding in Eureka. I heard Malboro and look over and see my cat girl on screen 😂😂
I had no idea you were also on Diabolos. That is so awesome!
I learned some things in this video about systems I don't really engage with. Not for any practical purpose...but for science!
Those poles are clearly structural supports for anti-earthquake measures.

Sea Butterfly: caught, 1 bite, 4 intuitions, 46 casts, 2 windows
Mud Golem: caught, 1 bite, 11 casts, 1 window
Ninja Betta: caught, 1 bite, 6 casts, 1 window
Bombardfish: caught, 1 bite, 30 casts, 1 window
Syldra: caught, 1 bite, 19 casts, 1 window
Frilled Shark: caught, 1 bite, 5 mooches, 2 casts, 1 window
Jacques the Snipper: caught, 1 bite, 34 casts, 1 window
Warden of the Seven Hues: caught, 1 bite, 1 intuition, 20 mooches, 106 casts, 4 windows*
Raimdellopterus: caught, 1 bite, 3 intuitions, 4 mooches, 35 casts, 2 windows
Ignus Horn: caught, 3 bites, 120 casts, 3 windows
Blue Widow: caught, 1 bite, 21 casts, 1 window
Worm of Nym: caught, 1 bite, 6 casts, 1 window
The Gobfather: caught, 1 bite, 7 mooches, 10 casts, 1 window
King of the Spring: caught, 3 bites, 108 casts, 3 windows
Silver Sovereign: caught, 1 bite, 10 casts
Oschon's Print: caught, 2 bites, 131 casts
*For Warden, I did two Greenfish windows, but four Violetfish/Orangefish windows, for about three hours of standing around waiting in Yanxia.
As a sprout I got better understanding of spiritbond from this video than from ingame and wiki.
Yep, should absolutely shame whichever jerk has a one-person FC hoarding a large plot without even decorating it properly.
That was very silly. I liked it. Congrats on your 3 achievements :D
"If you don't want lalas breaking into your room and getting saw dust on your bed, lock your door!" sounds like something Eorzeans tell their kids to get them to remember to lock their door.
Breaking into people’s homes to craft has to be one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. TREMBLE!!!!
I remember doing spirit bonding farms in ARR in Urths fount with the goal of getting grade iv determination materia (fun fact determination used to be the most powerful stat besides main stat)
The grade iv det materia would sell for 500k-1mil a pop so you could make a crap tonne of gil especially when things like the Novus relic step were relevant.
I see your Nancy Sinatra reference and my old ass approves. 👍🏻
Boots are made for walking
15:20 that "a few lowers level" almost went over my head
Any reason you used the Aetherite rings with only +1 spiritbond instead of the Meteor Survivor ring that has a +3 spiritbond?
"You got a big storm coming..."
*Bury the Light Intensifies*
Another good item you can get for spiritbonding is a ring you get from a specific yellow quest chain in upper la noscea. It's a short quest and the ring gives +3 to spiritbonding
For the record, the combat leve gave no spirit bond because he was over leveled for it. If you are within the level range of the leve quest, it will give spirit bond.
Haha I wondered why DMC sold out on goblin. Thanks for the little gil buff cider!
You crafting in some random person's bathtub is peak lalafell crime 🤣
You know, that whole DDoS thing was pretty wild. Although I managed to not get DC'd at all, after my bouts of... excessive lag... I opted to call it on my XIV journey for the day a bit earlier than I usually would. I was not interested in putting up with that nonsense. Kudos to anyone that decided to soldier through it. :)
I desperately need a clip or a short of "If you don't lock your door you can't stop lalafell from crafting in your bathtub"
the first time i really payed attention to spiritbond was after i'd caught up in shb and was working on Diadem with some of the end of expac scrip gear (the lvl 80 stuff).
it simply /refused/ to gain spiritbond at a reasonable pace and i recall watching the % tick up infuriatingly slowly until finally giving up on actually getting much materia out of diadem activity. i think i even tried to ask in shout chat why i wasn't gaining any and shout collectively shrugged and went "wait, you're getting spiritbond??" iirc you get a decent amount while levelling but i'm certainly not taking an alt in there to test it. you'd probably get more with lower ilvl gear, even at cap, though.
the punchline, though, is how i proceeded to get 2 achievements for materia in there, one for obtaining materia and one for melding materia. i was still quite new to the game at the time so they were probably the baby achievements anyway but it was really funny.
Once upon a time, in 2.x, we did our spirit bonding in Urth Fount. There was always a group there.
there's something deeply disturbing about finding a random lala crafting in your bathtub
Another week, another video and a glass full of whiskey raised to the angry baby for your suffering.
oh god spiritbond, I craft 2 ARR Relic in Free Trial, meaning the only way I can finish the material meld step without market board is by doing spiritbond farm. Never again
Breaks my heart seeing large houses with empty interiors. Such a waste.
Break into ALL the houses! \o/ I should do that some time. Just casually run around breaking into peoples' houses.
Don't forget your Better Crowned Pies!
Everytime he said "spiritbonded" I died a little inside
Also sorry for double comment, but this one goes out to commenters mainly - is there like a good Achievement Hunt Discord for XIV? I'm in several Servers for specific aspects of the game, but idk, it would be nice to team up with other Achievement Hunters so some grinds would be less draining!

not looking forward to hitting this set of achievements if i ever get around to it. thank you for taking one for the team when it comes to theory crafting this stuff 😥
I recently got myself a small house after like over a month of consistent attempts.
Canonically my WoL has a toddler and a newborn at this point in MSQ, so to reflect that, I made a crib by facing and overlapping a pair of armchairs and putting a mobile over it. :)
One of the first summons in a final fantasy game, was the goblin summon, in final fantasy 4.
You can also use a spiritbond potion if you want to speed things up.
i've learned a LOT about content i never touch with this series which coincidentally has made me curious about more content.
You forgot the spiritbond food.
Not sure if said already but there is a trick working on meld x amount times chieve. Meld your piece of gear and drop it in glam dresser and then retrieve it auto removes melds.
As a decorating main it hurts my heart to see empty larges.
