S2000 Quiet Exhaust = Cut down muffler

- So this is the quietest High Performance exhaust for the S2000.
We built this for a Turbo S2000.
We show how to cut down a muffler to make a large resonator that
fits into the S2000.
It's a true 3" after the cat and then divides into Dual 2.5".

T Nyce, same here im 35 and prefer a sleeper. Quite but still enjoyable. Been trying to figure out a way to free up the exhaust system on my 99 prelude but haven’t figured it out. I want to do a 2.5” exhaust system that is quite. I was a about to pull the trigger on a Apexi Noir system but it is pretty pricey at $600. And that one is at 60mm.

T Nyce hahah nice. Quite but still adds performance is really hard to do on a NA setup. I have heard a few turbo builds with a very quite exhaust note, practically just a few decibels over stock when WOT. Otherwise, driving normal, its quite. Guess ill stick to stock till i figure out what to do with my daily.
What car do you drive btw or want to modify the exhaust system without pissing off the neighbors lol
Lol I'm 35 also. It must be an old man thing. 05-06 RSX Type S stock exhausts are supposedly 2 3/8 if you feel like getting creative.

It would be good if you had shown us how it sounded without the magnaflow. Have you tryied this to a supercharged s2000? And if so does eliminate the drones that come from 3000rpm to 4000 rpm? And Last, what brand Tailpipe Mufflers are you using in this video?

awesome work john as always! I want to do the same to mine with test pipe but continue single exit 3'' for na tuning. If i install a small muffler with good packing as a reasonator(like you show) and add a large packed muffler at the end you think it will have deep tone without much droning? thanks, keep sending good quality work!
Dimnas Yes. I’ve used this inline resonator and a 6” round 14” long magnaflow and it sounded amazing.
John, would this be suitable and effective for quieting down the LHT SS twin loop exhaust system on our S2K? The unicorn really drones at 3K - 4K RPM range. Starting to get weary of the loud sound.

A good reason to go ahead and mention the names of muffler companies who use mild steel inside their mufflers is because your audience would like to learn, from you, which brands to stay away from. If you have that knowledge from your experience we would benefit from it!
FredAllenBurge I can’t go on record and say that, I don’t want those companies coming after me. I can safely say it’s almost all over them.
thats a bit much .....after the resonator i was putting a down turn dumping to atmosphere or straight back no mufflers

Yes, Mainly because Magnaflow don't make a 5" x 8" in 10" Long.
