All the arguments about goal scoring opportunity, got the ball , deciding an important game in that way etc etc are completely immaterial. Under the laws of the game, it is a foul. Contact was made, how hard the contact was makes no difference. A foul in the penalty area means penalty. I just don't get there is any discussion on whether it was or wasn't. Any if these fans would be screaming for a penalty if it was their club.
