If you watch the game, look at the stats, and looked at the teams, Chelsea should have won that game and for it to be a cup final, you either play to win or don’t show up. United were awful and were very lucky it wasn't another 6 goal drubbing, but bottle jobs isn't a fair critism there are plenty of other labels you can throw at them. At no point during that game did they look like winning or really in a position to get over the line. It was just a question of how many chances would City take rather than can Utd actually do anything, they were almost a non-factor. Chelsea were deservedly called bottle jobs because they were a dominant team going into extra time against a 3rd string team and completely lost all confidence and played for penalties. We need to have a serious talk about what 'bottling it' means. It doesnt mean failure, it means failure when success is either expected or the more likely outcome due to a lack of courage or conviction. You can argue that United lacked the latter on Sunday, but the former, they were given no chance, KG and Flex even called it 'Sacrifical Sunday' for goodness sake. It isnt comparable to losing a close game against a team playing teenagers where your performance gets worse as it goes down to the wire, and judging by the comments, most people can see the difference
What I find funny is that manutd have sold so many guys that they should been playing instead of buying players. You bought what a 70 mil washed Casemiro? 90 mil Antony? You sold Iqbal, Elanga, mengi, garner, Brandon Williams, Angel Gomes, Dwight McNeil, tuanzebe, Andreas pereira. Mix those guys in with dalot wan-bissaka, shaw, mainoo, mount, sancho, rashford, Hojlund, garnacho, you have a decent group of kids who can grow together.
