Honestly, this is why i think us Newcastle fans get slaped with the whole 'deluded' thing. Before the takeover we were going down into football oblivion. Howe comes in, we have one good season with things going our way, then suddenly expectations sky rocket and part of the fan base is back to moaning we dont win every f'kin game!

I’m afraid I disagree with a lot of what’s being said. Entitled to this opinion of course, but this is very short memory stuff. You can’t ignore one reality. Almiron, Longstaff and Burn were massive in attaining not just Champions League but a cup final. I’ll admit they’re not world beaters, but they’re not Championship players. I’d put them as solid premier league players under Howe. You can’t let Bruce distort that. After all, Longstaff was playing well under Rafa too. We rejected a 50 mill bid for him from Man U at the time. Far too simplistic and dismissive to me 🤷♂️
The problem with longstaff is the fact we don’t really have any alternatives with tonali willock and joelinton (less so but out for the season) playing only a handful of games
Almiron is class. Longstaff and Burn are awful. Miley is too slow and weak. Should be loaned out

Newcastle fans know that what Howe achieved from us going certain relegation - Champions League qualification within one season knows he’s earned our respect. We know a squad with Lascelles, Ritchie, Almiron, Dummett, etc as our bench is not good enough, and it’s going to take a long long long time before we’ll be able to bring the likes of top class strikers off the bench like Alvarez off for whenever Haaland gets a bit tired. We’re a million miles off Man City in terms of players, and you can’t blame Howe for doing amazing with the limited amount he has.

These same excuses he gives Howe he doesn't use for other managers' injuries either matter or they don't. They've lost to teams who have poorer players and have spent a lot less there's no excuse for that. Imo Howe shouldn't be sacked but neither should Ten Haag who Brian has slammed. I do think both teams to get to the next level there's a possibility that both get sacked.
False equivalence Chelsea and Man Utd injuries are players like Diallo Martial Maguire Mount Lavia Forfana Sanchez who are all usless while James and Chiwell are made of glass.
While Tonali Barnes Pope Joelinton have missed loads of games Isak and Wilson are made of glass but still while even Willock and Murphy have barely been fit

@@jamesputtik1474C'mon dude, Newcastle have by far and away the most days lost through injury in the entire league, about 50% ahead of Man Utd, who were 6th in the injury table when it was last updated. Another difference is Newcastle are underperforming their expected points and have been unlucky, whereas Man Utd have managed to pick up points whilst playing awfully. Check the expected points table for example - Newcastle 5th, Man Utd 13th!! And that's before mentioning the strength in depth of the squads.

Utd’s squad depth isn’t exactly brilliant as well they’ve had to play Johnny Evan’s as a cb and players like martial and Antony who are rubbish. Newcastle have definitely played better this season then Utd, but surely it’s a good sign that Utd have still managed to pick up points whilst playing poorly, i imagine when they hit form and play well they’ll be a good side like last year. City have had some under par performances all year but have still managed to win which is what good teams do

The sheer volume of injuries AND the position of the players injured. Anderson, willock, tonali, Joelinton in midfield. Barnes, Isak, Wilson, Murphey upfront. What i will say is that i think eddie could have been more brave with the youngsters to give some of the first team a rest. On the subject of Livramento dont forget he is just back from a year out. You have to give him some rest.
Very harsh on longstaff...hes scored plenty of goals and covers alot of ground...with no injuries he's was outstanding last year..
Eddie has done amazing, but to play burn instead of tino seams to be the only mistake he's making, especially against Luton.

Yea, as a Toon fan I think he's way overly harsh on him. Is he inconsistent and has patches of hot and cold scoring wise? Yes, but the lad always puts a shift in. I think you could say that for all our wingers tbf.

With the injury situation that just shows that Newcastle as a club and fanbase aren’t ready to be one of the top clubs in Europe. When you’re at the top level you basically have to use your full strength team twice a week. All the top teams have to deal with injuries. As a Liverpool fan I’d love to cry about how we’re gonna be without Salah, szoboszlai, Thiago, Matip for the league cup final. But you just have to deal with it

BDB is awesome. No time for moaners. Definitely a prem player. Brings so much to the team. Opposition are setting up for counter attacks so he is on the receiving end unfairly. We're losing possession in the middle too easily which we weren't last season, so we're setting up these foot races. The problem will go away when we have players back and bench to rotate.

Those are not Championship players, most of them were never in the Championship. They managed to stay in the league with Steve Bruce. Which is an underrated achievement on its own.

Your take on Longstaff is always poor. He's doing exactly what he is supposed to be doing so that Trippier and RW (usually Almiron) can combine. Also... Newcastle would have been relegated were it not for Chris Wood. We couldn't get out of our own half with the ball until he signed.

Eddie Howe's in-game management has cost us, and will cost us many a game if he doest start to be 'proactive,' instead of being 'reactive', when making substitutions. I, e, it took us to become 4-2 down against Luton, until he made the swithch to take off D. Burn, & bring on Tino Livremento. It was obvious from the start that he was getting skinned for pace, yet, as above 4 goals, 'reactive' Eddie makes the change. What worries me is hes not learning from this . I fear it will happen again. As all Nufc, even Brighton, fans will tell you. Eddie Howe has his favourites !

Fact of the matter is I've watched my team be've beat a high flying Villa side x2, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, City in the cup, had a magical night in Champions League against PSG, be competitive in 6 CL games against 3 of Europes elite, and stuff the mackems for good measure! With all the injuries we have had that's some going.
We are early days in this new ownership and WAY ahead of schedule in relation to where they want to get us to. Some fans need to remain patient, keep faith in Eddie and never EVER forget that it wasn't to long ago we weren't demanding a team that wins, we were demanding a team that TRIES - We certainly have that now.
