    I’m looking to do a table myself but I’m starting with smaller projects first before I screw up a more expensive piece. My question is do you or should you seal the live edges before the pour? Also are metal inserts needed to prevent warping?

    • @mitchellsteindler
      @mitchellsteindler 4 роки тому +1

      Sealing the edge would be a very bad move. You need the epoxy to soak into the pores at the edge for a good bond. Idk about the metal supports.

    • @tamaskovacs3034
      @tamaskovacs3034 4 роки тому +2

      In one of the last videos they told that they clear and clean the live edges fully so the epoxy can make the bond as Mitchell said. I think you should watch some videos before you get to do your own table. It is always good to learn from others. They propably made the mistakes you want to avoid :)

    • @bruceyoung8036
      @bruceyoung8036 4 роки тому

      Standard problem. Hit it with a torch, gentle waves. The bubbles come right out. Porous wood might spit out more bubbles as it absorbs the product so be prepared for more bubbles to appear. Nothing worse than making a pore and then finding out your torch is empty! Hall ass to home Depot! Lol.

    This kid is perfect example that everyone can be successful in business even at young age.
    You just need a rich daddy and a small loan of million dollars.

      avo every time I see a “this kid has a huge business, and basically you’re a goddamn mouth breather” I’m like “yep I’m sure this 12 year old did all of that all by themselves without any influence or assistance from their *checks background* oh yeah very rich parents”
      I hate to be cynical, but it does serve me well sometimes.

    Why do you pour resin over the surface of the slab if you are just going to rout/sand it off again? Many liters wasted.

      Audioshine if I had to guess it’s to make sure that it’s filled perfectly flush and to maybe give less chance for bubbles to show in the final product since they’ll move closer to the top.
      Not an expert on just guessing based off of other resin videos

    Glad to see the Flintstones will finally have a dining table thick enough to hold brontosaurus steaks

    Quick joinery question: l am attempting my first water fall sofa table from 2” thick walnut. I have already done my 45 degree cut on that end. Best way to join? Hand indexed 1/2” dowels (cheapest, most difficult), domino ($1000), or dowel max ($359)

    Awesome work your doing there
    The Company I Work for also makes slabs for people but unlike you guys were you use different colored resin we use clear only but after seeing your video and how good the one table looked with the black resin I'm gonna bring this to my boss attention...
    Were also deal in Reclaimed wood anywhere from old barn wood , beams from and old ship or old redwood fencing...
    Again you pours that you do are truly amazing..

    Weird question, but how do you clean out all the buckets?

    • @HereThenGone

      Let the resin dry, squeeze the bucket, peel out the resin.

    Hi guys, loving the work! Can you tell me though, what music you've used at the point where you mix the resin? Cheers!

      You can find the answer in one of there first video i guess? But its quiet simple:
      Length×Width×depth and if you calculate it in idk cm you got your result in cm³. If you divide it by 1000 you got the amount of Epoxy thats needed for your project!

      Thank you!! Yes the simple equation we like to use is cubic inches divided by 61! 👍
