What I've learned from watching all these videos by people travelling/living in Russia is: People in both America and Russia are basically the same and all the propaganda is damaging the potential for cultural exposure. I've started making Russian/Slavic recipes at home (in New York state, near Niagara Falls) and they are amazing! But because it is 'un-American' to enjoy Russian culture I have no way of knowing if what I'm making is accurate in taste/presentation. I would love to travel to Russia and see all the beauty it holds.

Centralizing is a very bad idea. Russia needs to decentralize and strenghten the other cities. Germany is a good example. No big city, but very strong small cities, wealth everywhere. Look on all the expensive cars in Moskow. So much money without benefit for the poor people. Russia is such a huge country. So many possibilities.

"Decentralizing" is easier said than done. It has historic reason that economic and political life revolves around Moscow and St. Petersburg. People tend to migrate to places where there is economic opportunity and growth, so we can observe the constant trend of population flow to urban centers espacially to Moscow since the collapse of the Sowjet Union. And nobody has really an idea how to reverse this trend.
Germany developed in very different circumstances. Many cities where established alredy in the middle ages and developed in many different independent principalities. The central location in Europe allewed them to easily establish trade relation with the economic centers.

Us foreigners need MORE INFORMATION about the different Regions of Russia. I knew very little about Russia before this year. UA-camrs have brought Russia to my attention... now I'm fascinated by Russia (and former USSR countries). Now, I must ride the TRANS-SIBERIAN train, I must tour the "GOLDEN RING", I must have "BANYA", I must see LAKE BAIKAL, I must SNOWBOARD Sochi mountains, etc. These are things I did not know about Russia.
Also, there are things about Russia that Russians do not appreciate about Russia, that many foreigners probably would appreciate. Volgograd/Stalingrad is a special, historic place, not just for Russia, but for the world. When I visit Russia I will go there to pay my respects.

Just don't buy trans-Siberian train tickets. That means sitting on a train for a week, and it stops for maximum 20-30 minutes in each city. They are also overpriced. Instead buy local train tickets from one city to the next when you are ready to move on. It's very easy to do it now on the RZD site, which works fine in English.

It was nice to meet Natasha from "Year Russia" on your video. I am a follower of her channel. First I sought that it was here video. But it’s indeed yours. So I know yours now as well. It was very interesting to hear your discussion about Russia and the US. I am from Germany and I wished to learn more about living in Russias today. To build up a middleclass in Russia will take time. At least some generations because the middleclass bears the society in our world and I count Russia to the western world because of its European Culture. The middle class is a description given to individuals and households who typically fall between the working class and the upper class within a socio-economic hierarchy. In Western cultures, persons in the middle class tend to have a higher proportion of college degrees than those in the working class, have more income available for consumption, and may own property. Those in the middle class often are employed as professionals, managers, and civil servants. The word "middle" may be misleading in that it suggests that those in the middle class have earnings within the middle of the population's income distribution, which may not be the case. Middle class families tend to own their own home (although with a mortgage), own a car (although with a loan or lease), send their kids to college (although with student loans or scholarships), are saving for retirement, and have enough disposable savings to afford certain luxuries like dining out and vacations. There are some variations between the middle class in Germany and the US or between Germany and the UK or Frances. But in the end they are ferly similar to each other.

I see the same theme in several of Natasha's videos and now here: Moscow is the big apple and the rest of Russia is gradually corroding (and looks it). Somehow that really interests me - I'm not interested in the big apple but the corroding parts like Spassk-Dalny are definitely interesting. I don't like glitz and money-climbing but much rather prefer learning about people who live in places where that is impossible. Natasha should do a video on her family.
I grew up in Zimbabwe by the way - Rhodesia as it was then - and watched the place fall apart. Now living in South Africa and I am watching it fall apart. That's probably why the Yeah Russia videos chime with me so much.

That rose to over $15,000 in 2013 and fluctuated with a downward trend to about $10,000 in 2020 - caused in part by the occupation of the Crimea which huffed the West. The predicted trend for the future continues to be downwards as the population decreases, although this is disguised by places like Moscow growing whilst other parts of the country decline faster. In Bulgaria is the same - all the money, youth, well paid jobs, good education are in our capital Sofia.
The families in the province either have a family member who works abroad or who works in the capital and sends money.
The gap between Sofia and the province is huge. In neighboring Greece is the same - two major cities Thessaloniki and Athens, where you can have normal life and province where there is no work outside the touristic branch.
Russia is rich on natural resources and you have very good military and space technologies. I think if you apply those technologies in the civilian life, use your resources to produce things domesticly and minimize import of competitive goods, you all will have decent jobs and will be well paid.

What a nice collaboration, I especially liked the young brother and sister who came over to see what you were up to. The US and Russia are very similar, but different. It's nice to see the similarities between our two countries, but also very interesting to see our differences. It's these differences which Russia needs to emphasize or capitalize on. To be honest when you think of vacation or touring "Russia" does not come to mind. Not that Russia does not have anything to offer, it's just that no one knows about it or the govt hasn't capitalized on it. The other reason is most of the videos of Russia I have seen seem to take place in the winter, of course it is winter now so this would make sense. Still when the weather warms up it would be great to see some videos of life during the warmer months.
