Maybe not the biggest failure in nba history(Anthony Bennett, Rochester royals getting bribed into not drafting bill Russell in 1956) but still great vid
First it was a Dynamic Duo, then a Big 3 (Westbrook is a superstar by default because of his 2017 MVP), and finally, a Fantastic Four. All these: failure. Their weakness is wanting to be loved, respected and worshiped like the Lakers, caring more about their image than competing for a title. Sure they got rid of Donald Sterling which made for good P.R., but Steve Ballmer's weakness of going against the odds at any cost them makes them gullible to take any deal in the name of hope, no matter how microscopic that ray of light is. There is context you might have missed. Their first ever conference finals berth in 2021 was a result of the Clippers being the first team to come back from down 2-0 twice. That's akin to coming back from down 3-0 which no team in NBA history has ever recovered from (3-0 leads are 167-0). Clippers believed that if they did something Herculean like that, all the bad things normally associated to them would vanish in the blink of an eye forever. In an ironic twist, Clipper's deep run was thwarted by their former savior Chris Paul, who wanted revenge on his old team for ruining his Hall Of Fame legacy. Recall that the first 3-1 collapse in 2015 resulted in DeAndre Jordan joining the Mavericks before Clippers staged an intervention to avoid a rebuild. Of the teams to have two 3-1 collapses, 76ers had a 13 year gap and Suns had a 25 year gap, both making the Finals. Clippers did within 5 years, and without a Finals berth before or after. Adding insult to injury, Paul's first and only Finals berth came at Clipper's expense. With no picks, no youth, no development, and no means of competing, they are a barnstorming franchise. For the next few years, Clippers will be rehabilitating damaged goods, disgruntled players and disgraces. Other teams will look to them as *the* perennial trade target, with the Clippers forced to accept whatever deal they have, no matter how horrible the return value is, leaving them with just cash considerations, trade exceptions and players who are on the verge of being blackballed or banished from league. And, since the Thunder have a majority of their 1st round picks, any form of tanking may result in a no. 1 pick for them. Can you imagine Thunder winning the title the same year Clippers are the worst team in NBA, all the while helping their opponents get stronger - all this, just because they wanted to be loved. And this is without me mentioning they'll have to steer the ship without the great wisdom of Jerry West who passed away recently. He joined the team in 2017 as a special consultant, showing them how to run a team properly following years of mismanaging under the old Sterling regime. It's going to be a very painful few years for the Clippers. But given their losing history and the eternal belief that only a 3-0 comeback can save them, their misery may be everlasting.

What are your thoughts on the Clippers?
Could of been better tbh
@@RiahEditz yeah I think they definitely should’ve at least gotten a single finals appearance
