SOLIDWORKS - Cam Slot Path Mate

    Learn how to represent a cam slot by using a path mate. This solves a current limitation in the Slot Mate in SOLIDWORKS 2014. Quick Tip presented by Kevin Lynk of GoEngineer.

    Great tutorial and exactly what I was looking for. One thing to mention is I believe you need to have external references in the systems options switched on for this to work.

    I have a question. I am trying to do that but for cam selector (don't if that is how it called) in a sequential gearbox.
    The thing is that the slot is around a tree. I don't know if it is also possible to do that in that case.
    EDIT : i manage to do it with a 3DSketch, ALL IS FINE. THANK YOU FOR THE AMAZING TUTORIAL !

    Please Help. My part will follow the path (arc) that i want it but it will exceed the path and continue following the whole circle of the arc that i sketched(I trimmed the excess part of the circle which i tend not to use already). Do you have any idea on whats wrong and how to solve?

      choose open loop in your selection manager tab before you select the path
