Sweet looking bow. I have my dads 1962 Bear Grizzly recurve. It shoots pretty good too. I will be doing a watching spree from this video to when i first started watching your channel.🙏🏻👊🏻👍🏻
Thanks Carl! It happened so fast I didn’t realize it until I was ready to post the bow video! I’m going to the drawing for t-shirts when my daughter gets home. I let her do it , cause I honestly don’t know how the raffle generator works.😂 Thanks Buddy!
I just bought this bow last week . New to bows . I picked it for adjustability and the physical weight. They set it up to my draw length. Knocked an arrow and hit were I was aiming . Did that 5 times for never shooting a bow let's say I didn't try another. Very good price point fir a guy like me just wanting to try bow hunting.
Good morning Mike and I'm glad you found one you like at a price you set. I started bowhunting in 72 with a Bear recurve and loved reading about Fred. Anyway had a problem with my shooting elbow and jump to a Bear Polar 2 compound, some reason my elbow straightened up imagine that. Had a Bear Alaskan for years, well I guess I'm saying Bear has been and always will be a good bow. You did a good job on checking that many bows and different places to find the one bow that fit your requirements 👏. It all comes down to if your happy with it thats all that matters but I think you got your money's worth.
I appreciate that Carl ! I tried to find a top quality bow that is also affordable and can fit a wide range of requirements for folks! After looking at a bunch of bows I decided on the Bear Adapt. It was tied with one of the Hoyts, but why pay $200 more for the same bow? I appreciate you watching and commenting buddy!
Mike, great video! Like how you had 6 steps in looking for a bow!! That is an awesome bow! I use to shoot Bear. I like how it come all setup for you with all the accessories. Not a bad price for that kind of setup. I call that R.A.K. (Ready Aim Kill), never heard the RTH! I hate that style of peep site. My Bowtech Assassin and Bowtech Carbon Zion has just a peep site in the string and it comes back perfect everytime. Congrats on the new bow and looking forward to seeing some shooting videos. Juddie - J & J TOA
Thanks a lot Juddie! I searched for a bunch of bows that were suggested like your Zion. The problem is that every company changes their models every year or two! I’m sure in a couple years the Bear Adapt will be gone too! I’m about to head to the bow shop to get er set up right now! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment buddy!
I was looking at the sanlida dragon 10 (i got my wife a dragon x9, its genuinely a great bow for under 300$), but im honestly pretty glad i found this adapt at around the same price. I think this video is the nail in the coffin for me to start saving up for one, thanks for the info brother.
That’s awesome buddy! I’m really glad you got some value from The video. The Sanlida bows are really good from what I’ve seen on UA-cam. The bad parts I have heard include that if you break apart you can’t get replacements With bear, you can get replacements at a lot of different places Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! I really do appreciate it! 👊🏻👍🏻💯
@@Hunting4Hookers good to know! If I get a 60 pound adapt, would I be able to get 70lb limbs? If you're not sure that's fine, just figured I'd ask. I'm planning on the adapt plus for the cable roller slide thing and the hotwire sight
@@connorhart7597 If you get the adapt it is easily adjustable from 40 to 70 pounds without buying anything else. Basically all you have to do is adjust your sights! THAT was the main reason I went with the Bear Adapt.👊🏻👍🏻💯
@@connorhart7597 I just checked , mine is 50-70. I started with it at 55 pounds. Then I added 2 pounds every 2 weeks. I stopped at 64 pounds because I want to be able to draw and hold it steady for at least 2 minutes. I’m thinking about taking it to 60 so that I can hold it really easy. It has great leftoff but when you’re standing at full draw for 2-3 minutes even a 5 pound difference means a lot! When you buy an Adapt you have everything you neeed at any weight range. Cut some arrows and you’re ready. I bought my bow through Amazon. They have a deal where you can get it with Amazon payments and 0% interest and pay over 4 payments. You can also do it with Affirm and get it spread over a year with interest. (Not sure how it works) I bought the bow combo with sights, whisker biscuit and quiver. All the stuff it comes with is good quality and performs beyond my abilities! You will have folks saying that you need to update this and that. But if you want a good, quick, quiet bow to shoot at targets and to hunt with this combo is the best deal on the market in my opinion! I shot and shopped for a bunch of bows with a $1000 budget. When I was done with arrows, release, bow case and everything I was at about $600. None of the other bows in the $1000 budget can hold a candle to it!
It’s a sweet bow with tons of adjustability, a smooth draw cycle and solid back wall! I think it’s the best bow value for the price available! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! It helps a lot and I appreciate it!
It’s a very adjustable and user friendly bow! I look at and shot quite a few bows and this one was the best option for low weight to higher weight and still a very good shooting bow at both ends!👍 Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! I really appreciate it!👍
Thanks for the info Buddy. I'm thinking about taking up archery as a pastime. Unless I can find a perfect used left hand bow, the Adapt seems to offer the best value. There are a few nice used flagship bows out there but they are all 70lbs.
If you buy a used bow, I suggest you get it at a bow shop or take it to a bow shop to have it checked out. I bought a used Matthews once and it had been dry fired. By the time I put a new module and bushings in it , I almost had the price of a new one in it. Nothing wrong with getting a used one. I’ve had several over the years! In fact the Bear Adapt is only the second new one I have ever bought. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! It helps a lot and I really appreciate it!👍
I just bought the Resurgence LD off ebay for $350 new. I picked it over the adapt due to having specs amd features that i liked better. Man the bear single cams are so smooth !!
That was what I was after! The single cams are smooth with a solid back wall and pretty darn quick! The Resurgence is a fantastic bow too! My buddy Matthew has one and loves it! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment buddy!
I’m about to buy a phase 4 but I got this bow and no joke this bow can do 40 yards easy but don’t be going and trying to run 450-500 grain arrow keep it around 300 and run 70 pound pull but yeah pretty good bow. Also replace that crap peep that got on there
The very first thing I did was get rid of the peep with surgical tubing that came on the bow. I had one of those before that hung on a limb and broke one morning and cost me a deer. The peep I put on there isn’t my favorite, but it works best with my 53 year old eyes. I’m becoming pretty accurate with it. And the arrows I’m shooting are 510 total grains with a 150 grain field tip. It hits really hard! I’m set up for realistic 25 yards and outside shots at 30. I’m setting limitations and practicing scenarios within them. My previous bow was a 70 pound bow that I could easily hit a delta target at 40. But more than once I had to let down on a draw and missed out. Right now I’m at 63 pounds and can shoot 50 arrows without fatigue and can hold draw for 2 minutes easy. I don’t think there is a one size fits all strategy. We have to adapt what works best. Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion! I really appreciate it!
It’s the newer model with some upgrades. It has more adjustability and the length and brace height make it a great shooter. Nothing at all wrong with the species! It’s a great bow. The Adapt is quieter and more user friendly .
You should learn too shoot with out a peep sight because big bucks comes out late afternoon gets dark in the woods your not gonna be able too see through it leave peeps sights too target shooting
I have a brother in law who has been bow hunting a long time. Recently he has started shooting a traditional recurve bow. He now shoots instinctive with no rest, sights or anything. It kind of amazes me how darn accurate he is with that trad bow!
I bought the Adapt and put an IQ Bowsite with Retina Lock because I can't see through a peep at lowlight. I have an Anchor sight on my other bow that I have been using for the last 15 years. Paid $69 , now the cost $175 !!!!!, hence the IQ site.
You don't have to justify why your shooting lower poundage . It happens to all of us as we age. Atleast your not shooting a crossbow now & blaming it on your shoulder . I've been wanting to shoot that bow .
So far it seems like a great bow! It’s very forgiving and smooth, solid back wall, quick, and quiet! I can’t wait to swing an arrow at one! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment buddy! It helps a lot and I appreciate it
