Thank you for your tutorial, it's been a long while since i wired a dollhouse so it was a good refresher. I have a little trick to share on installing those tiny nails. You take a plastic lid, for example the lid from a pringles chips container; its thin enough but still sturdy and see-through, you cut out a strip out of the plastic lid aprox. 1/2" -3/4" wide by about 2" long, you cut one end of the strip to a 45 deg angle on each side of the tip, looking like an arrow shape with small bridge between the 2 angles. You then cut the plastic through the bridge down the middle of the stip about 1/8" long. At the end of the cut you make a pinhole, this is where you will insert the small nail, this tools serves at holding the small nail while you hammer it down. No more tiny nails flying all over the place and by taking a see-through plastic, you also see where the nail will be going in. Hope this is clear, its a very handy tool to do this work.

I felt that way too, when I wired my first house. But, tape wire is so easy to use, I was able to electrify my dollhouse in a day. It was so exciting seeing my house lit up for the first time! Just make sure to have a plan before you start. A simple drawing helped me decide where to place the tape wire when going from one floor to the other. Also, it is also a good idea to place the tape one inch above the floor on all floors. That way, you always know where your tape is, and can add lights, or move them around as needed. Good luck! 😊

I'm still building my house right now so still planning where lights will go. I'm not using round wire throughout the house though, I want some lights to be LED battery lights. Is that one of the big houses you're working on? I didn't know you can test the lights with a 9 volt battery, that's great to know, so much easier.
I’m sorry some how I missed your comment! In reference to your lighting question…you don’t have to separate the fireplaces from your regular lighting system but you will need to make sure your transformer is the correct size. Yes tiny Whitney loves to jam!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I have the worst luck with those little CirKit replacement plugs. I end up breaking the wires or pulling them out more times than not when I try to plug or unplug them. Do you have a method to make them more durable?
Help! I've listened and feel I understand. I've completed 3 intersections with 2 brads each that all work, but I've done the next intersection 4 times and it still doesn't work! Any tips for why or things to avoid or what I've done wrong?
Sometimes when this happens it could be that the holes created for the brads/nails were too big and the brads are not actually touching the copper tape. Press down on the brads/nails at the same time you insert your test probe and see if the test probe comes on, if it comes on that usually means that your brads are not fully touching the copper tape. Also I’m not sure if you already installed lights but if the wires are accidentally touching then it won’t work either. I hope that makes sense!
Hello, I have a dollhouse with tape lighting. I have lost some of the lights that hanging from the ceiling and the wires are too small to rewire. A new light in the dollhouse is complete with wallpaper and wooden floors. How do I replace the lights that have been lost thank you.
unfortunately there is no easy way that I know of. this is the downside of tape wiring. You can attempt to carefully pull away the wall paper so you can reveal the tape wire under the wall paper, use a tester to make sure that electric is still flowing and the install new lights, then lightly re-glue the wallpaper. Most likely you will have to remove and replace the wall paper. You could also attempt to install a one room wiring system and use inventive ways to hide the new electrical through trim etc.. but you will have an additional plug. The easiest way would just be to install LED battery operated lights in those areas. You will just have to manually turn them on. Another option may be to ask an electrician if they could help out. I'm sorry there's not an easy fox aside from battery operated lights.
Since we know the "brad" is made of brass, could you not use something else made of brass instead of a tiny brad that is more finger-friendly and easier to wrap the wires around? Idk like a brass push pin?.... if that exists....
yes of course you can. One of the reasons the brads are so small is because of the need to hide it behind the wallpaper. Soldering is the best way to do lighting and I'm hoping to eventually do a video on that.
