Same here😊 thanks for sharing and inspiring us. Aspiring cooking vlogger here🙆 but I got overwhelmed by the equipments, editing and all😁 but you're able to explain it in a simple and easy way for us. Thanks a lot! From the Philippines💛

Piecing all together was overwhelming so I thought I would share my process to help others go into it with more confidence. And at our age it is important for us to know that it is never ever too late to start something new. That being said, I am here if you have any questions moving forward. Wishing you the best!
@@BelquisTwist I am interested in becoming a food blogger myself but I'm not a fan of cooking either any way I could just do like a resteraunt blogger you think?also I have absolutely no experience or any idea what I would need to do to start a blog
So glad I found this. Just started my channel about a month and a half ago. Also started it as a way to distract myself. Mom of 3 with a full time job, i have been in and out of hospital with my youngest who was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer when he was 11months old. We've been through chemos and 3 brain surgeries and my Miracle Boy now 3 is holding strong. It's a safe space where I do not think of MRI scans and blood results. Thanks for the encouragement.
I just started cooking on UA-cam a few months ago, I think I'm doing great, but don't know what to do now!! I'm so stressed, because I don't use a camera, I use my cell phone and have poor lighting but don't know where to start, I'm not good with the computer, I do my own editing on my phone!! I put my heart and soul into what I do because I love it...I've been praying about this, then I found you!!! Thank you sooo much for your help! I've subscribed to you.
You can do it! If I did it, you can! Did you see the other videos I have. You can shoot just with your phone. Get one light if that is all you can do and you will be golden!!! I'm going to subscribe to you too. Let me know if you have any questions at all and I will try to help!
@Rachel cooks with love just spoken my heart out. I started a youtube channel last month and struggling hard to put things in place. I came across @Belqui's twist channel and I AM LOVING IT A LOTTTT.... I am from India and I am definitely gonna follow you for your positivity and beautiful work. Thank you😀
Thank you so much for this video !!! I will be 60 in December, but I've been cooking since I am 18. I have been contemplating starting a blog, but I was like, who is going to want to see a blog from a 60 year old. But I guess no matter the age if your content is good people will engage. I think you are fab !!! I am heading right over to your Pinterest and Blog to check out your success. Thank you for taking the time to do this video. And I am definitely going to work on my intro and my thumbnails for my UA-cam videos, because they stink !!!! You have given me so much to think about !!! I wish you much success and will be following you from now on .
Hi Arlene! I am so glad to hear you feel motivated to do it! I am turning 49 in June and I feel this was one of the best things I could have ever done for myself. It's been challenging and rewarding at the same time. The more you do it, the better you will get at it. I am going to give you the link to a friend who started her channel after retirement, skyrocketed and she is in her 60's! Making more than she ever had in her life. And she just started it to keep busy after retirement. Simple channel and little other social media. I met her when she was at 5k or so in following and look at her now. So the sky's the limit when there are no expectations. Have fun! This is her channel: www.youtube.com/@rachelcookswithlove
Great advice! We’re now a month into our blog. For years, we’ve posted our food on our personal Facebook pages, and our friends finally convinced us to make the jump into blogging. We’re having a blast learning everything you mentioned. The first affiliate rejection was tough, and then came the second, third, fourth… OUCH. But finally, a few came through and saved us emotionally-lol. Everything you’ve said here aligns with our experience. We’ll definitely be checking out more of your content! Thanks so much!
You are welcome! I am so happy that this video has been helpful. I will be adding a new video soon with even more tips on things like affiliate marketing, recipe testing for big brands, etc. So much I still have to share so keep an eye out for it. :)
You are an amazing teacher,am in my late thirties, and want to start a youtube channel but your video has given me the courage to start. You have gained a follower 🎉
You just made my day. I am a stay at home mom of 2 and just moved in the US...life has become challenging for me but you are inspiring me to not lose my passion to learn and maybe make my self better in sharing the food/dishes that I love.
Please keep up the great work. Everyone who watches it will surely enjoy it. We have a highly autistic granddaughter. These are very special young people.
Watching you now was just like watching myself! Me-Autism mom, 45, Dominican parents, foodie, also helping my son with healing through food, looking for a way to start a food blog and don’t know where to start! Thank you for this video, very inspiring!
I hope you start it! because it has changed my life! And I hope it does yours too. Especially as autism moms we need something outside of that life to feel fulfilled. I am here if you need me!
The best people is the one that shares their knowledge and doesn't keep it to themselves. Thank you for sharing your story, your journey, and your knowledge. I hope one day I can let go of my insecurities and I can start something of my own. Thank you. I wish you all the success. Thanks for inspiring.
Thank you for your words! Although you see me confident on camera, I am everything but. It is hard for me to show myself. It's getting easier with time. It's like a muscle that you have to exercise. I suggest you go for it. People will love you for you, for who you are. Let them see you. I would never show myself without makeup and lately, on FB, IG I decided that I need to accept that the real me is enough. It has to be. I have accepted myself, it's still hard but I am happier than showing myself always at my best. Now followers get to see me in all my different facets. I subscribed to you and looking forward to seeing you Creando Y Jugando! 😉
This video was such a blessing! Thank you for sharing you tips. I am in the planning stages of starting my blog and super excited. God bless you and your family ❤
Hey there! Just want you to know this video was very encouraging. I too just quit my corporate job to stay at home with my autistic daughter. I already had a UA-cam channel that I started a couple years ago to share my breast cancer journey, then I transitioned to healthy food videos. Once I quit working, I realized I needed to get a little more serious about blogging and UA-cam so I’m just now building me a website to go along with my UA-cam channel. I’ll be launching it this month! I found your video tonight, after getting discouraged but your insight and positivity was so helpful. Thank you so much. I just subscribed! Can’t wait to watch some of your videos!❤️
Hi Marsha! I am so happy that you found the video helpful and encouraging. As an Autism mom myself, I completely understand making the decision to stay home with our children. I chose the same and this is how my food blogging began. It has been a fun journey. I hope that you have beat cancer and that you are healthy. I will subscribe to you too! I'm here if you need anything!
Thank you for sharing this information. I decided to start blogging at the beginning of the year to find a purpose. I have been a stay at home mom for 17 years, and moved a handful of times. I am now divorced and feel like i finally found something to make me feel worthy. Your information is greatly appreciated.
Very sincere and insipiring video. I will start a specific food blog in near future but for UA-cam and Tiktok I need time. Since I dont have a dedicated team for this blog I will do everything by myself. Firstly I will develop and expand the blog then I will combine it with UA-cam. I should collect all my courages:) Thank you for sharing your inspiring journey with us. You are a genuine and beautiful lady inside and out.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I wish you the best with your channel. It's hard work but so worth it! Just remember to have patience and take it one day at a time and enjoy the process!
Thanks for sharing such helpful information. I started my channel a month again. I was so scared to start and I would procrastinated and get stuck only doing research which is important but I was using research to put off starting, I also would second guess myself and thought I needed fancy equipment, but then I just decided to just jump in and start just using my cell phone. I love it so far and I am so glad I found your channel with so many helpful tips.
You are so welcome! I am happy to hear you found my video helpful. Just take it one day at a time and slowly you will find it so much easier to do because you'll be in a groove. Just make sure you are kind to yourself and don't stress over anything because then it will become no fun and we want to have fun with this.
I feel the same way! For a year now, trying decide what kind of biz I should begin, what platform to go with etc, and now learning about this too! Eek! Love her videos! I wish she'd do a Q&A for us... I'm still fuzzy on how to begin... 🤔
I been researching for couple of weeks now about food blogging and there’s not a lot of resources that cover all the important things like you did on this video, thank you so much ❤️ you are amazing 😊
Thank you Luisa! I hear you, this is why I did this video. I felt like all the information was so scattered, I found it overwhelming. I wanted to put this together to make it a bit easier for others to get it going. I am so happy to hear that it was helpful! I will continue to share my processes, so stick with me. :-)
You are amazing, thank you for sharing your experience. I think I'm now ready to start my journey as a food blogger after watching this super cool video.

Thank you!!! This was so helpful. Just get started in my research, seems overwhelming so this helped me avoid a few mistakes. Keep videos coming please!
Wow, you are so inspiring…. I have been trying to start a Food blog for several years. I even hired someone to create my Blog for me. She did a beautiful job but as I am not as knowledgeable in website design, I run into snags of not knowing how to do certain things. I feel that I have no one to ask or to show me. It is my passion to cook and post recipes, pictures and videos on Pinterest and You Tube. Making tons of money is not my goal. My goal is just to enjoy cooking and share recipes with other like minded people. I’m am almost 75 years old and fairly computer literate and very anxious to learn more. My website is up but just needs some expert tweaking and a little hand holding to get me able to be self sufficient. You have lit the fire within me to pursue my dream…Thank you.
You are so welcome! I'm in your same boat! I do this for the love of cooking and sharing what I have learned so far. Just make sure to have fun while you are at this, otherwise it's not worth it. But I sense you are already having fun at this!
Just want to say thank you for such an honest insight. I have yet to get serious about Pinterest but I just saw that i am getting much of my traffic from there! So thank you! I also loved what you said about not letting age stand in the way of starting something new. I am in the same boat! Subscribed! 😃
Glad it was helpful! This is a slow growing endeavour for most but it has been very rewarding. Take it at your pace and it will feel like you are just having fun vs it feeling like a job. Especially when you start to grow you feel that pressure to do more.
You may not be the biggest blogger out there, but you are one of my biggest inspirations. The fact that you're NOT the biggest blogger, that you're still developing your style/method, that's what I like about you. My current videos are terrible. I know it. But I had to start somewhere and I used what I had (which was a GoPro 5 Session and a $50 camcorder). I quickly learned that I needed better equipment and have spent the last month acquiring it. Now that I have it, I'm ready to take on stage 2 of my video creation journey. One thing that has me struggling though, how do you plan a complete video shoot? I ran into this while editing. I wouldn't have the right shots, transitions were bad because I didn't plan for them, and I couldn't go back because I had already made the dish and used up the ingredients. I'm not looking for an answer, I'll figure it out. But you gave me a small piece of the answer in this video. Thank you. I look forward to more of your inspiration :)
Hi! So, I honestly don't plan my shoots. What you see me cook is literally what we are having for lunch, dinner or snack. Before I set up my lights, I always take all my ingredients out and have them lined up in the order I am going to use them. I have been doing this since I learned to cook when I was younger. This habit has been helpful. After I have all my ingredients ready, pots out, etc. I set up the lighting. Depending on the style I am shooting, I set up the camera. The easiest is always overhead. I shoot putting all the ingredients in, stirring and stop for any downtime in cooking because I don't want to have a huge file when it comes to editing time and that is super annoying. If I am shooting the cooking from the sides, I like to move the camera (or iPhone) from one side to the other while I cook. Soi I may start cutting the onion with camera on the right, stop and then shoot from the left and even move it again to the right. During editing I cut it together and it looks like I shot with more than one camera. I may do a video on that too. I think it could be useful. Was I able to answer your question? I hope so!
@@BelquisTwist Yes, that was very helpful. I just bought some oxtail today. Who knew it was so expensive and hard to find! Almost $7/lb where I live...and I'm in cattle country! Anyway, I'm going to film the making of a slightly modified version of your recipe, in a pressure cooker. Hopefully it will come out as good as your recipe looks. :)
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I've wanted to start a food blog and channel for years and you've really made the process much less intimidating. I'm in my early 40s and also have neurodiverse children. Your story inspires me to move forward. Thank you!
You are so welcome! I am happy to hear this video has motivated you. Just take it easy to start and don't be hard on yourself. As you do more, you'll get better and better and figure things out. We already have enough on our plates. I have days that are so difficult that I don't know how I can do one more day of our difficult life, but somehow I get up and do it. The blog has given me another source of motivation that is not just autism, this provides me with some sanity.

Hi! I just recently realized that my heart is into cooking. When I started to gather a lot of helpful tips and infos about food blogging, which I am dying to do now, and I also searched more about the bloggers in this industry, I happened to pass by your channel and to this video. I must say that I learned a lot from this, because I am still overwhelmed with the load of stuff that I should have first in order to start food blogging. I don't know where I can begin, however, I am grateful that I watched your video from the beginning until the end. I'll come back to this same comment, and I'll let you know once I already built my own food blog! Stay safe, and keep up the good work ❤️
Hi Anissa! I am so glad this video was helpful! In the description is the link to the post for it with all the info typed in and links to each of my suggestions. Definitely keep me posted on your progress!
Thank you so much for your help! I've been intensely studying all the how too videos on here and now I'm finally diving into creating my food blog. It's a real challenge. I had to by a new computer because my old one was to slow, something about the PHP for Wordpress being too slow for it. It's been a learning curve. I will continue to watch you and give words of encouragement. Good luck my fellow food creator! Go for it! :)
You are so sweet! Thank you for watching and I hope you have found the videos helpful. I am going to be shooting a couple of new ones for the new year so look out for them. It is definitely a challenge, creating the channel, editing, etc., but once you get in the groove of it, you'll find it easier. In the meantime, I am here if you have any questions!
I just started my youtube journey more than a month ago. Thanks for the tips, especially the pinterest tip. And oh my goodness, u looked really young for your age!
Thank you for the compliment! In two days I turn 47 and I still can't believe it because I feel 25! Time goes by so fast! I am grateful that this video was helpful. Thank you for the support!
It was great to watch you speak. I learned today that Pinterest is also important and even websites can make money with advertisement. Also how you run your youtube videos on your websites so someone who watched your website video also watches youtube. Super. Learned a lot from you. Thanks. We started our food channel last month. We are from India. O love to watch all your videos and learn from them. Thanks.

💖💖💖 Absolutely fantastic!!! Thank you for this valuable information... exactly what I needed to refuel my focus for my NEW channel. As a new channel it is very easy to become discouraged with the slow progress. I enjoy watching established food channels for inspiration, insight, and ideas to incorporate into my own production. There is so much behind the scene and prep hours involved in order to master the professional results I want to deliver to my audience, all while utilizing minimum "start up" equipment and assuming every role from start to finish (capturing footage, editing, photography, to designing thumbnails)... A one person show with no staff... no camera crew... no fancy studio! Yet, it's the small beginnings that make the journey so rewarding as I come across videos like this one, that contributes to my GROWTH and MOTIVATION!!! Thanks so much Sis!!! 💖💖💖
You are super sweet! Thank you for watching and I am so happy I provided some inspiration. I am almost 3 years in and I see the growth when I compare to even a year ago. It's a fun and challenging journey for sure. But I am sure you are going to love it! Wishing you the best!

@@carblesslydelicious Thank you for your kind words. I made these videos because I kept finding videos when I was thinking of starting the channel where people were sharing way too complicated and pretty much unattainable (for me) ways to shoot. Sharing my process with others that may be overwhelmed like I was really important to me. I look forward to seeing your journey too!

You are so welcome!
I love this! This is such an honest and down-to-earth vlog about food blogging. I'm quite new to it and still learning. Thank you for this! 💕
Thank you for watching!!! I hope it helped!
I’m starting a blog at 44. Thanks for the inspiration.
You got this! I am glad I was able to make an impact! :)
Me too! We’re going to rock it! 👍
Me too. That's part of why this video is so inspiring. Best of luck to you as well.
Great video I’m soo inspired to start my blog now..thank you for sharing
You are welcome! Wishing you all the best!
You just made my day. I am a stay at home mom of 2 and just moved in the US...life has become challenging for me but you are inspiring me to not lose my passion to learn and maybe make my self better in sharing the food/dishes that I love.
I am so happy to have inspired you. Just remember it can take time to grow. Just be yourself and have fun with this!
Thanks for this video, very helpful
Thank you for watching! I am happy it was helpful too!
Please keep up the great work. Everyone who watches it will surely enjoy it. We have a highly autistic granddaughter. These are very special young people.
Yes they are! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I'm hoping it was helpful. 😊
@@BelquisTwist Thank you so much. Yes, I beat cancer! God is so good! I am also here if you ever need anything as well😊
@@maplejubilee Yes he is! Let's stay in touch! I love your channel!
I like your honesty, simplicity and openness❤️
I been researching for couple of weeks now about food blogging and there’s not a lot of resources that cover all the important things like you did on this video, thank you so much ❤️ you are amazing 😊
Thank you Luisa! I hear you, this is why I did this video. I felt like all the information was so scattered, I found it overwhelming.
Well done for seizing the moment to convert what seemed like a disadvantage, being a stay at home mum to a huge benefit. I am truly inspired.
Thank you Edna!
Thank You, so much, for the inspiration, and the tips!
You are welcome! I am so happy to have been of help. Wishing you the best in your youtube journey!
MY GOD Thank God for you! You are amazing at explaining.
Thank you! I was so worried I sucked at it! LOL I am so happy I was helpful!
@@BelquisTwist Yup, keep up the good work. Stay blessed.

Very useful video.Thank you so much ❤
Thank you for watching! So happy it was helpful!

Expensive equipment. I wanted to start small and incredibly, I still own pretty much all the same inexpensive stuff 3 years later! Sharing my process with others that may be overwhelmed like I was really important to me. I look forward to seeing your journey too!
